Right on all.
I have wondered for some time if he dressed in the Cubs gear thinking he would head to the College World Series game.
That is something that has still stuck in my mind as a possibility.
But even if so, what after?
What after any of these sightings?

Yes, foul play still most likely IMO, as a long time poster on this thread. For reasons we've gone over for far too long, unfortunately.

Yeah you're right, technology wasn't advanced as much back then as it is now. Even if there were security cameras, the footage probably got wiped and recorded over like you said. And the fact that the police waited for 10 days to start investigating is really disappointing, during that long time of period evidence can be easily destroyed.

Not confirmed as far as I know. Apparently, the person who posted about this on 'another site', said they reported it to police. But at this point, I don't think it will really help find him even if it is true. Sadly enough, I think the only way he will be found will be by a hunter or hiker on the outskirts of Omaha, or by a new homeowner in JJ's neighborhood. No need to explain further, and IMO as a long time follower of Jason's tragic disappearance.

Yes. You have the ultimate respect from me, for having followed this for so long. I did too, but not for as long, and only as a lurker.
I understand what you are referring to about a new homeowner. That he was stashed in the wall or basement (or whatever) of a house somehow. This came up as speculation a long time ago.
I still don't see a sexual assault (by a neighbor) motive in this case. Or any other, by a neighbor anyway.
Then there was the theory that he 'fell into the earth.' Road work, that sort of thing.
I still believe he made it to the gas station, and then disappeared.
But how we will ever know what really happened is beyond me.
Totally agree about a hunter (or hiker) eventually finding him. I sure hope so! Sadly, that would mean he didn't start a new life somewhere else (though it would be terrible of him to not let anyone know). But I think very few people believe that.

Hi thanks for your reply. I, believe it or not, have gone through the long list of SO's in the area that are there these days, , since we don't have the 2001 list. I looked at each photo and description of SO's that seemed like they would use murder as an option. I noted the ones that have been in their present homes since JJ's disappearance and were the ages that fit in with his year of disappearance also. But it just leads to nowhere. There have been several cold case investigators over the years, who are completely stumped by this case and in writing to the contact number, I was told the last investigator had moved on. It is described by LE as one of the most mystifying missing persons cases with no clues at all, sadly enough. Many posters who follow the case on various websites say the same. We can only hope for some kind of resolution at some point.

Thanks for the welcome. I found about this page yesterday while I was searching about Jason and I decided to join. It's been almost 24 years since he disappeared now, how sad. I hope he can be found someday.

This is one of the only things we get to see from Jason's perspective, and it really gives some insight to the type of person he was.

Oh wow, thank you for posting the letter! It is nice of his mom to share it with us all. I had forgotten today is the day JJ went missing, and I wouldn't have thought to look today on his mom's fbk. This letter is pretty well exactly how I picture Jason was like, from all we have heard about him! It is so touching to see these words from the young man himself, and great to have some 'new info' about him. It just makes me all the more certain that Jason's disappearance was not of his own choosing, but due to foul play. IMO. If you still follow this thread Kelly (I know you were part of it at first), just know our thoughts are with you today and that we will continue to remember Jason here.

Jason's vanishing is the most mysterious in the history of the world. It was really sad reading his email to his grandma, but like Andreee said, it really shows what kind of stand-up young man he was and very family-oriented. No way he left of his own accord. As I have mentioned many times, I was in Omaha on 6/13/01, was on my way out of town and had a late morning flight. Can't remember the exact time, but I may have been flying over Jason when he walked to his old HS. I learned about his disappearance a couple of years later. I'll never forget JJ. RIP.

Not sure if the cans were placed actually in garage or outside of it. Either way, the brother or neighbour did see Jason walk away.

I read somewhere recently, cant recall where, someone else lived in that area and walked to that high school. He wrote there was one creepy house that stood out, and it always made him uncomfortable. All the windows were boarded up and the door was fairly close to the sidewalk. Anyone know which house this would be, and would he have walked directly in front of it on his route?

I read somewhere recently, cant recall where, someone else lived in that area and walked to that high school. He wrote there was one creepy house that stood out, and it always made him uncomfortable. All the windows were boarded up and the door was fairly close to the sidewalk. Anyone know which house this would be, and would he have walked directly in front of it on his route?

During the 20 year anniversary gathering at the local park, Jason's cousin told a reporter that the neighbor saw him putting trash cans in, and his brother happened to look out the window and saw Jason walking in the direction of the school.

Maybe... Just West of JJs house, there is a block that is the shape of a triangle because of the way the roads intersect. There is one house on that triangle, and the yard is in such bad shape you can hardly see the house. I can't remember if it was that way in 2001 or not.

Also, across the street and a little North of there, there is a house that Google Street View has blurred out for some reason. I'm sure anyone can request this, but I've found that interesting.

So if you start on Google Maps and look at 48th & Pinkney, Omaha, NE. You should be able to see the triangle block.

That blurred out house is weird, same thing happened after i moved out of a rented room in a house. Someone had the house blurred on google maps - it was not that way before that

And that house where the "yard is in such bad shape you can hardly see the house" is literally right across the road from the Jolkowskis, diagonally at the intersection. Wow. I hope the police thoroughly investigated that place. If there was any place he could have disappeared, that one would certainly qualify. Incredibly close, highly secluded from anyone seeing anything

Maybe something as simple as walking by that house and seeing the garbage cans on/close to the road he moved them to the yard and the paranoid homeowner thought he was stealing them, then something tragic occurred

Yes! When I was going through the list of SO's in the area (couldn't find a list for 2001, so recent list) there was one who lives/lived at that blurred house! I looked it up on the map to see as I noticed it was very close to the Jolkowski's house. I also wanted to see if there was a clear view from the blurred house to Jason's house, but it didn't look like it. Anyways, I found it odd that the house was blurred and wondered why.
