OK, that makes sense. As long as the blood gets in and hopfully pictures of the room will do. It must have looked like a blood bath.
I imagine that the pictures would only include Luminol views since it seems that Chris was out purchasing cleaning supplies afterwards. I don't know what else, (if anything), glows from Luminol but I'm sure his attorney does.

the only other compond that I think will react to luminol is common household bleach.

So I assume that if his ceiling was glowing, it'd be pretty hard to explain either way.

yes, either way it is hard to explain the presence of blood residue any where in the room since she is missing. blood residue of that magnitude certainly would indicate that something horrible happened in there. I am sure that police took clean samples of the areas in question for preserving dna deposits since luminol destroys the dna of blood. you can make a chemical mix that mocks luminol by adding a small amount of h202 ( hydrogen peroxide) to bleach.

The little creep said that the blood on the mattress was from his girlfriend having her period??? Did he forget that she was pregnant or did he have a third girlfriend :bang:

That defense attorney sure is trying to keep everything out of the trial. Of course he can't. This kid should get it through his head that he is going down down down.

HIS GIRL FRIEND HAVING A PERIOD! HOW STUPID DOES HE THINK PEOPLE ARE. BLOOD SPOTS ON A BED THE SIZE OF A HALF DOLLAR MIGHT BE A REASONABLE ASSUMPTION FOR A PERIOD, BUT THE ENTIRE MATTRESS TO HAVE BLOOD ON IT AND FOR IT TO BE ON THE CEILING AND WALLS!! THIS CREEP MUST HAVE KILLED HER TO GET RID OF HER SO HE WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE A DAD. WHAT A JERK HE IS. HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE POPULAR IN PRISON..

Did anyone ever hear if his other girlfriend had the baby? I'm assuming she must have by now -

It would really stink if they don't allow his past to be put on trial - IMO - him having 2 girls pregnant at the same time is a big motive...

I haven't heard about his other girlfriend having the baby. I did a web search yesterday just on his name and nothing new came up.

I couldn't agree more. The two girls knew who each other was from school, I believe, but neither knew that the other was involved with this pitiful skinny little creep. He didn't want them to find out about each other either. I think he decided to eliminate Jessica so the other girlfriend would never find out that he had both of them pregnant at the same time...what a stud
It sure as heck should come in at the trial. I think it was the whole motive.

http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=2798&u_sid=2349180A defense attorney says Christopher Edwards' father is like most defendants' fathers - intensely involved as his son fights second-degree murder charges in the disappearance of Jessica O'Grady.A video produced in the Edwards case may be Exhibit A of dad's dedication. In the video, Robert Edwards methodically squeezes a dropper of animal blood on a used mattress over a two-week period. He then sprays cleaner on the blood and furiously scrubs the mattress to see if the blood will spread...In the video, the blood remains concentrated where it was applied. In crime scene photos, authorities have said, blood soaks half of Christopher Edwards' mattress...Friday, on the eve of a two-week trial set to begin Monday, defense attorneys offered another possible explanation for O'Grady's blood: a miscarriage. They asked a judge to delay the trial so they could question experts about the possible effect of medication on a pregnancy.Douglas County District Judge J Russell Derr refused a delay ...(much more at link)

You're welcome.

I'm so glad that this trial is finally underway. I hope that the jury sees this the way we do.

http://www.ketv.com/newsarchive/11307400/detail.htmlJury selection continued on Tuesday for a second day in a second-degree murder trial, and pool has been narrowed...Most of the questions asked of the jurors had to do with pretrial publicity of the case...

Thanks so much. Please keep us posted as we have no way to get info on the trial. I really wish I could be there. I want to see his face when they find him guilty. Did they charge him with second degree murder? If so, how many years would he get?

Anybody but me find it odd that she'd texted her friend saying she got lost on the way to Dipwad's house? Like, maybe she'd never been there before? So how could she have left menstrual blood in a bed that she'd never slept in?

I think that Dipwad had a girlfriend and Jessica was the "other woman" (why some of his friends knew nothing about her). If she told him she was pregnant and that she'd tell his girlfriend it was his baby, that would be plenty of motive.

Jerk.

And now his worm-like lawyer is offering up the possibility that the blood was from a miscarriage. Or maybe she ran away. He needs to ask his client which scenario is the one to go with - since he was there!

At least there's the blood evidence from the headboard and the ceiling. I've never heard of a miscarriage resulting in blood an a ceiling and I think that that contention might infuriate a jury.

Jury Pool Is Seated; Opening Arguments Begin - News Archive

A 14-member jury is seated and opening arguments are due to begin Wednesday afternoon ...

A water main break downtown delayed the start of the voir dire process in open court Wednesday morning...

(Defense atty) Lefler told jurors he doesn't yet know whether his client will take the stand...

Hinting at possible defensive tactics he'll deploy, Lefler previewed his argument that blood found on Edwards' mattress does not mean he killed O'Grady, even though the DNA matches hers.

"All women have periods. Has any woman never soiled the bed with blood before?" Lefler asked. "Has anybody suffered a miscarriage before? Have any of you ever had experience with suicide before?"

A few jurors nodded along to Lefler's last questions...
