GUILTY NE - Juliette Geurts, 2, beaten to death, Gering, 11 July 2008

THANK YOU so much for taking the time to read Juliette's thread!!! :please:

juliette9.jpg

I haven't seen any update on the John Walsh thing, just that he agreed to have someone look into it.
For clarification: I don't expect him to put it on AMW. But he IS John Walsh. He might have ideas, or even just connections.
If John Walsh calls someone and says "WTF why hasn't there been an arrest, why aren't you covering this case?"
They are a lot more likely to listen than if MsFacetious calls them and says the same thing. Know what I mean?

Another outrageous thing? I forget which family member... But a family member of the egg donor...
Posted that they find "Justice for Juliette" "pathetic" and they "laugh at it".
Yep... those are the high caliber people we are dealing with here. :banghead:

You are absolutely right! John Walsh can make things happen. He has for years.......... I'm praying he will step in for Juliette. She deserves it and so do you and her family.

I can't believe someone would say, calling for justice for a murdered child is pathetic. I would say that person is the epitome of pathetic, miserably inadequate as a human being.

I feel sorry for this person, I'm old enough to know you reap what you sow and that includes the words that we speak to others. (or write in a blog). I admire you and Juliette's aunt for not giving up.

The Little Engine That Could!

You're both like Henry Ford said, "If you think you can or you think you can't, you're always right".

With that I'll follow the advice of Will Rogers: 'Never miss a good chance to shut up.'

That person WAS a member of the mother's family... so you know.... :what:

I have something else I'm going to do, I thought I'd share.

I am going to print out a summarized version of Juliette's story.
I am going to highlight that her Dad is a soldier, the comments made by Mister Dead Babies... and the lack of media attention.
I am going to include the website and the most direct contact information for her Aunt that I can find.

And then I am going to carry copies with me.
When I meet someone who I think might be able to help with that, I'm going to give them a copy. Instead of just telling them.

Here is another example of not seeing what is right in front of you... and needing to go back and look at things... :waitasec:

I sat down last night and said...
"Okay, MsF... your family has done a lot in the community... you guys know A LOT of people. Who can you personally call?"

And then I remembered that we are kinda buddies with one of the stars on Law and Order and his family. :banghead:
(Like visit each other in the hospital, visit them weekly, they have special candy for my kids at Halloween type of buddies.)

Helpful or not, I CANNOT believe it has taken me this long to realize these friends are also celebrities. I just forgot! :floorlaugh:
The important thing is trying everything & actors often have media connections & I DO see them weekly... :seeya:

Any new idea makes it feel a little less tedious and a little more hopeful. :woohoo:

I have visited Juliette's Facebook page, "liked" it, and shared her picture on my own FB page along with this comment:

Why has no one been arrested for this crime? A 2 year old child was beaten to death while her dad was deployed overseas serving his country. Is this how we show thanks to our soldiers who protect us? By allowing their children to die of abuse and their killers to go free? Feel free to share this because nothing will change until enough people speak up and refuse to allow this crime to go unpunished. Juliette died, leaving behind her twin sister Jaelyn who will grow up knowing that her twin sister died and that somewhere a killer is out there, unpunished and free to hurt another child."

I urge everyone to visit the FB page and to share the story of Juliette. When enough people are demanding answers, maybe then something will be done.

I know I don't often mention Juliette's twin... and that is because honestly she is really hard for me to think about.

I try not to think about what she will think in 10 years... her sister was beaten to death... and her mother never fought for justice?
Plus her mother just abandoned her instead of fighting for her? Instead of answering questions about Juliette, she just ran away?

At least Juliette's pain is over. Her twin... will have to cope with losing Juliette, not being protected by her mother, being abandoned by her mother...

All of that is far more than I can handle even thinking about.
:tears:

MrsF have you contacted Tricia and tried to get this on the radio show? Or if it has been, maybe get it on again? Tricia also knows a lot of people in media.

It has probably been a while since you submitted it to these, I would do it again. Unsolved mysteries esp. might be interested.

Can you get me a copy of what you write out? Also, who was the family member who wrote that nasty post on FB?

I would have to go back and look for sure, so don't quote me... I want to say it was a cousin?
I believe it was right around the same time that somebody posted the alleged story about how/why Juliette was killed.
I KNOW I posted about it back there <---- when it happened. It was awful...

I am sure Monica would go on the radio show as well... if Tricia was willing to.
It sounds like the radio show they just did, has a lot of details in it. I will also try to get to that as soon as I can.
I will post a copy of what I write and link Tricia to it as well, once I can sit here long enough to write it out and check my details.
Just waiting for my shoulder to get past the "please amputate it or just shoot me" phase.

Today I heard "Juliette's Song" on the radio. "Freedom Isn't Free."
To me it's her song anyway... it will forever be her song in my mind now.
My daughter even knows that... she said "Mom, it's Judy's song!" (She cannot say Juliette.) :giggle:

Hey Gitana... or anyone else looking for some facts.
Here is a recent post from Monica with an overview of the case...

http://www.facebook.com/notes/justi...acts-as-our-family-knows-them/322122797844005

Comments after it will also answer some other questions people have had... :tears:

It appears the mother is sober...
Since they never charged her with a crime...
She does have custody of the third daughter A...
While Dad/Grandparents keep custody of Juliette's twin...

....... She has visitation rights. :thud:

This is what people should be banding together about and demanded an arrest be made for Juliette! Why is the life of a child so unimportant to people? Is there a petition on change.org for her?

Praying for justice for this sweet girl. It is long overdue. I'm praying for someone who can do something to step up and do what's right. Love to Juliette.

I just spent the morning reading the entire thread. I cannot believe nothing has been done & how the PD messed this up.

Justice for Juliette!!

I've read through this thread and I just don't know what to say at this point. How could a child's death be treated with such callous disregard?

I wondered if you had thought about utilizing twitter as a tool to get the word out about this. I know little to nothing about twitter or using it, but I thought that maybe having this sent out to folks that have a large presence might help spread the word. Thinking of celebs, politicians, etc.

Also, I thought that maybe if there was a list of shows or media outlets that you are trying to get interested in the case, you could have tweets sent to them.

It's just a thought and maybe something that you are already pursuing.

I am on twitter a lot, would be happy to bring it up. Let me know.

  • #296
That is a great idea about twitter. I do not tweet but so many do! Go for it - whoever has the capability to do it.

Perhaps a candle lit vigil on the White House Lawn would bring attention to this case. The President wasn't shy about taking up for other mother's causes and he should know about this one too. JMO

How frustrating it must be to watch time go by and for nothing to be done. I am so irate with the local PD for doing so little for so long. Unbelievable!!!

  • #299
I am too. This is SO frustrating. Every time I see this case come to the top of the thread I think oh GOOD, some progress!! But there never is any. :( I wonder why Nancy Grace hasn't taken on this story - this seems just like a case she'd champion.
