A provocative status update was posted Thursday on Facebook by [the suspects] teenage girlfriend, whose name will not be printed at this time. The girl posted, “Mess with me or my man and I’ll (expletive) KILL you, ,” at 6:18 p.m. Thursday, shortly before Clapp allegedly went missing from her home.


I am from New Zealand so not 100% sure what the age for a juvenile is in the US so I won't post the suspects name, but you can see it at the link.
He can easily be found of MS and FB- very distinctive name

The POI is 18 years old. Isn't that an adult in the US? Not entirely certain.

A person of interest arrested in the disappearance of a 14-year-old Nebraska girl remained in custody Sunday, although no formal charges had been filed, McCook police said.

A body was found late Friday in a field near Bartley, about 15 miles east of McCook in south-central Nebraska. It has not yet been identified, but investigators said Saturday that they believe it is Clapp.

I believe the fact that she hasn't been identified yet, when she was not even gone ten days... is consistent with another Alicia Debolt situation. Which is surprising if the perp is another teenager...

The 18-yr old was named in the media yesterday.
I wish the girl who posted that nasty threat on her FB page could be charged as well...online threats are becoming the "in" thing with teens and LE needs to make a stand.

I am so very sorry to read this tragic thread, and sending thoughts and prayers for 14 car, Mom Nora and Kailee's family and friends.

The only blessing I can find in all of it is that they found her quickly, and you didn't have to go through a tortuous waiting period of endless hours, days, weeks, months or sometimes years of not knowing, which we hear so often from families of the missing is the worst part. At least you know what happened and can bring her home and lay her to rest in peace. The why is too early to know, but from the report below, it sounds like the POI told them where to find her, and if so, hopefully, he will explain the why questions as well.

I'm not going to pry into personal FB pages now, no need, but young teenagers say extreme things all the time that they don't mean, it's a normal part of growing up, and doesn't necessarily mean the GF is also a bad person. The police will review everything very carefully I'm sure, but however things unfold, I'm sure there will be lots of help and support here at WS, available at any time of day or night if you want to talk things through.

Nora Clapp said she alerted police just after 7 a.m. Friday when she realized her daughter was missing but didn't think she was in danger. But by Friday afternoon, police said, officers had discovered information that her life could be in jeopardy. Police didn't elaborate. The 18-year-old was arrested about the same time Friday. The body was found late Friday evening.

She was only missing hours, not days. She was last seen about 3 am in her house Thursday night. She was discovered missing Friday morning by her sister who went into wake her up. The fact that she wasn't identified yet is because her body was burned, so you are correct that it's similar to Alica's case.

That is what I thought and I was 99% sure I was correct that it was not even 24 hours... but I figured if I was correct about it being THIS Thursday/Friday that someone would have changed the date in the title by now. So I figured I was losing my mind and just defaulted to the date in the thread title to be safe. :waitasec:

I agree, although she didn't name any names. She isn't on Kailee's FB friend list...I wonder if the message was meant more for the boyfriend. KWIM? It's not like Kailee could read her wall, not being a friend. Or she was hoping by posting it, the gossip mill would work a buzz back into Kailee's ear.

RUMOR is that this young man had been texting Kailee and was more interested in her, than she was in him. I am thinking the girlfriend might have snooped on his phone, found out he was texting K and then the girlfriend confronted him about it.

There is a video here, with more pictures. I did NOT put it together. If I had, there is a few pictures I absolutely would have left out and I would have definitely arranged them differently with the wording. It definitely gives some wrong impressions. :waitasec: I do them regularly and I'm neurotic about those things though. I haven't seen most of the pictures anywhere else though. Finding good quality pictures of her is difficult.

I totally agree with you. Threatening to kill someone should be taken seriously.
