We have had situations in the past where innocent people end up tied into high profile cases via FB.

Please forgive me for saying this but I hope she didn't try to help him with a cover up story. I hope she did not try to help him. I just remember thinking it was odd that she was being considered a POI along with the SF.

I still want to know about "relatives" that say they saw her after the Stepfather dropped her off!!!!

If they said this to cover for him, they need to be charged with interfering with an investigation...

Amen I think they need to study these monsters brains to see if they can't find some sort of link or able to identify these monsters before they are able to destroy children.

I can't see how a mother could not notice some kind of change in their daughter. She was married to this for two years. She had to have known something was up. I highly doubt this was the first time he assaulted her.

If she's that clueless then those kids all need to be taken from her care. Who will the next man be?

I really hope they find her. It's really frightening that there is like 2 sex offenders living so close to the school. I'm almost too afraid to have children some day, stories like this really creeps me out. Please let her be safe.

Wow! How cool is it that we have someone from New Zealand (Redwood) and South Africa! My grandparent went to both countries and returned with the most incredible photos for our Christmas slide show and tell... they even saw Richard Pryor in Africa and brought back some of the most beautiful amythysts (my fave) I've ever seen.

It always amazes me that you all live so far away and yet know about what happens here. Its kind of sad really that we here in America don't get reports about what's going on in other parts of the world.

bluebirdii, your concerns make me think that you would make an awesome parent some day... You are aware of what to do and what not to do and most importantly you care! Some of the most horrifying cases here are those where the parents don't take the time to become aware of RSOs, to learn about how to do everything they can to keep there children safe or to even bother to make sure they really know a significant.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Im so sad to hear they found her this way. So senseless. Im wondering if there was previous abuse or anything of that sort.

I always took the "relatives say" thing as bad reporting. I thinking relatives were just stating what the SF told them, that he dropped her off, not that the relatives actually saw him dropping her off. Just MHO.

What a sad outcome. I wish I could say it's a shock, but so much seemed 'off' about this from the beginning that it really isn't.

One thing that I've been thinking about lately is that there's sort of an illusion about small towns, that they're safer than big cities and that 'these things don't happen here'. If anything, it seems that secrets are often easier to hide in small towns than they are in bigger cities. Everything ends up coming out eventually, but too often it's too late.

Thats how I took it as well. I'm not ready to come down on the mom yet. I need to hear more before hand, as it sits right now, she lost her oldest daughter. OF COURSE if something else comes out of all of this... watch out

i literally cried out when i saw the update on this thread. i hate that my "funny feeling" about stepdad was right.
