What makes this all the more absurd is that this follows the conviction of a Nebraska state criminal investigator for planting evidence- in that case people spent years in prison for crimes they didn't do.
The newspaper article is about the only news media telling people here what happened. The Omaha Police Union is very powerful and is feared by a lot of the locals.
