NE - Omaha Double Murder #3 - *Arrest Made*

I think they should be since the chief said he's been arrested on four counts of first degree murder.

Can you elaborate????

I guess I can- now. My source was someone in the local news media who felt Dr Belenky was probably the best bet as a suspect, as did most of the people at CU I talked to. I was also told that there was 'another guy' who got kicked out of the residency program and had made threatening calls and statements afterward. My source felt this unnamed other resident was just a 'blowhard' and didn't take him seriously as a suspect. I never even was told his name, now it all fits.

Local reports tonight are referring to the possibility that there may be other unsolved murders linked to Garcia. It sounds as if he'd been on LE radar for some time but they moved suddenly on him because they feared he was planning something.

Bravo to the task force and OPD for never giving up. I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief for Omaha residents and CU employees.

The victims' families are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

He has a current, active license in Illinois however:

This whole Indiana/ Illinois thing is so confusing (Terre Haute is on the IN/IL border)

No board certification, but it indicates that his practice is LOCATED in Terre Haute- strange since he is not currently licensed in IN. No disciplinary actions past or pending according to Illinois.

Hmmm...... upon further investigation, his 'office' address' may not exist. And NO hospital affiliations. Wow!

(copied from the other thread until/ if they get merged)

He has NO current license in Indiana- only a long-expired temprary license from years ago....

From the article I linked to earlier:

"The suspect at that time also owned a silver Honda CRV, which was described by witnesses as being a car parked outside the Hunter's home."

They also have proof he was in Omaha in 2008 and in 2013 when the murders took place.

And I am breathing one for myself and my family. Since becoming involved in this thread this crime has taken over parts of my life. Especially after the recent murders I was double checking every night to be sure our doors were locked. It would be relatively easy for a determined serial killer to trace back and figure out who some of our regular posters may be. There have been many times when I did not follow up on an interesting post someone made even though I felt I had information, just because I was afraid the killer was going to be reading it.

This thread is not over, not by a long shot- this guy needs to be brought back, tried and convicted. There will be plenty of stuff to talk about as time goes by. My kudos to OPD and other LE agencies involved in getting this guy!

Whatever was on your link re his license has now been taken down. Interesting, no?

I googled him and his practice has an IL address if it is the same Anthony J. Garcia.

It's still there, you just have to enter all the search fields again. Select 'physician' enter the name and don't select a specialty.

OK, found it. I have been looking for other stuff on this guy, he looks like maybe he had a facebook page but it is pretty empty and we can't link to that on here anyway.

This story is being picked up by the national news media, I am finding stories on the network web sites and newspapers outside Omaha.

Google Dr. Anthony J. Garcia and the first two links give info. The address shows as Miller street in Chicago. Sorry for being vague, I don't wish to link to it in case it isn't the same person.

That Miller Street address pulls up a visiting (as in house call) MD service. Curious.

Imagine being fired in 2001 for erratic behavior and burning until 2008 and 2013 until
the murders....

I apologize to MB.

Let's hope courageous people continue to weed out evil physicians. They are a minority.

Above link is to the article on the Omaha World Herald site- there is a video of the press conference, it's worth listening to because the chief makes reference to this possibly being just part of an even bigger story. It sounds as if they suspect this guy in other unsolved murders, search warrants are being executed at other places across the country.
