Man, dog found dead in submerged vehicle near Minden

"At approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, [Sep 28, 2021] the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle submerged in an irrigation reuse pit near Highway 10, about three miles south of Minden."

"The vehicle was towed from the reuse pit and investigators located a deceased individual as well as a deceased dog."

"...the occupant of the vehicle is believed to be 31-year-old Scott Rockefeller of Kearney, who had been reported missing in June of 2020. At this point in the investigation, there are no signs of foul play."

UPDATE 09/29/2021 -- Per Scott's girlfriend at the time of his disappearance, J.B., Mr. Rockefeller was located deceased in his vehicle with his dog in a rural Kearney County, Nebraska pond in mid-to-late-September 2021. Ms. B. stated that she was told that foul play was not suspected.

...was at a friend's house near Minden, where he went to have a "life venting session" after finding out rumors were being spread about him in Kearney. [snip]...he was going to head back home - but he never returned.
