Authorities, family searching for missing Saunders County man

According to the Saunders County Sheriff's Department, Sean Eddy, 42, of Valparaiso, was last seen on New Year's Day. His vehicle was found on January 6th near Highway 79 and County Road A, which is approximately 3 miles northwest of his home. His car was found unlocked and showed no indication of foul play.

His GMC Envoy was found Friday on County Road A just east of Nebraska 79 and south of Valparaiso, several miles from his home at 22501 N.W. 40th St. When they found his SUV, his cellphone was in it but not his key.

Eddy lives with his mother and stepfather. He has driven for the ride-sharing service Uber for the last six months.

Eddy told his family he was tired from working the early hours of New Year's Day.

Their family doesn't know where he would have gone after he finished visiting with his brother that day at about 2:30 p.m.

Area firefighters will help search the hilly land in southwestern Saunders County. They'll start work at 9 Tuesday morning,

A rural Lancaster County man missing since Jan. 1 was found dead Tuesday in a Saunders County creek.

The cause of death for Sean Eddy, 42, is under investigation, although foul play is not suspected, Saunders County Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz said Tuesday afternoon. An autopsy has been ordered.
