The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in a field Tuesday. The sheriff's office says people clearing trees with heavy equipment discovered the body around 3:30 p.m. in the northeast section of N. 98th and Havelock Avenue.

Deputies say the death is highly suspicious and they are investigating it as a homicide. They do not believe it to be Tyler Goodrich, the Lincoln man missing since Nov. 3.

From my reading of her comments, she questioned him going for a run (term not meant as to flee from the house) that evening because he had an upcoming event that he was registered to run in and would not have chosen to run ahead of that event.

Not a runner myself but I know plenty and it's not unusual in their training regime to do a light run before an event. Not a long run but something to stay loose.

Friday, Nov. 3 - Last time Goodrich was seen​

Goodrich leaves his home — in the 1000 block of West Burnham Street — on foot shortly before 7:45 p.m., when sheriff's deputies arrive to respond to a report of a domestic disturbance. Deputies had been called to the home by Goodrich's husband, Marshall Vogel, who was the last person to see Goodrich that night. Deputies found no evidence that a crime had occurred and left a short time later.

Saturday, Nov. 4 - Goodrich reported missing​

Vogel reports Goodrich missing after he didn't return home the night before. The last ping of Goodrich's phone was at 7:41 p.m. Nov. 3 at their home, and the phone has not been on since, according to the sheriff's office. There's also been no reported use of Goodrich's credit cards since he left the house the previous night.
Goodrich is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound white man with a tattoo on his right calf. He was last seen wearing gray shorts, a zip-up sweatshirt, smart watch, size 12 running shoes and had a Samsung flip phone and Ridge Wallet with him.

Sunday, Nov. 5 - News of disappearance begins to circulate​

News of Goodrich's disappearance circulates online after the Facebook group "Let's Find Tyler Goodrich" is formed. The group has nearly 12,000 members.

Monday, Nov. 6 - Search warrant served at Goodrich's home​

Lancaster County Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says Goodrich is "off the grid." A search warrant was served at the home on West Burnham Street after Vogel retained an attorney, Sandy Pollack, who instructed Vogel to "give no more statements to law enforcement." Pollack further requested that the sheriff's office not interview either of the couple's children without his consent. Houchin later said nothing of note was found in the search of the family's home.

Tuesday, Nov. 7 - Friends, family host vigil​

Houchin says Vogel is no longer cooperative in the investigation, which sparks a public spat between Pollack and the sheriff's office. Meanwhile, family and friends host a vigil for the safe return of Goodrich.

Thursday, Nov. 9 - FBI gets involved​

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office interviews Vogel and his children again. The interview clarified some details the sheriff's office was looking into, such as the items Goodrich would usually take out with him, Houchin said. The FBI was also briefed on the case.

Monday, Nov. 13 - Sheriff's office says Goodrich's husband is '100% cooperative'​

Houchin backtracks from his prior statements and says Vogel is being "100% cooperative" in the investigation.

Wednesday, Nov. 15 - Last known footage released​

The Lancaster Sheriff's Office releases the last known footage of Goodrich running from his home. Houchin also made a point to affirm to Goodrich that if he is in hiding, he is not in any legal trouble and he still has his job.

By, example, my family ran a 5K today. Two days ago, on Tuesday, they ran 3.5 miles in preparation.

No family man wants to be without his children on Thanksgiving Day. Something serious is keeping Tyler away from his family. Where did he go on foot so quickly? In a rural area, no less?

If Tyler was running with his phone held in his right hand and using the flashlight feature, why isn't he shining the light on the road along the path that he's taking? Instead, he's running on the road at an angle toward his left where he shines the light, I suppose. But, why is he crossing the road?

A trained runner would normally use more reflective material to run in the dark even for a quickie. He doesn't appear to be tracking his progress, his time, as if on a serious run, does he? Maybe he was calming himself following the domestic event.

Thinking of his loved ones and family members during this watershed season.

I get the feeling, after hearing he ran out through the back door of the garage and out thru his backyard---I feel like he was running away from something/someone in his house, and not necessarily just going on a soothing run.

Maybe he was very angry from the argument and ran out mad? Or maybe he felt threatened and left in a hurry?

But I don't think it was a casual, stress relieving planned jog. I wish I knew if he met up with someone---like a neighbour or a friend.

I just think that there are a few, maybe more than a few, things that we do not know that might make understanding what has happened a little clearer.

Did Tyler go for “runs” to cool off after arguments previously?

What was so concerning that MV called LE that night? I mean it must have been pretty bad if you call LE after an argument with a spouse.

Were the children there at the time of the argument? What did they see and hear?

Search Warrant served at TG’s home pretty quickly after disappearance. Well, you need a pretty good reason to get a search warrant. What was that reason?

Was TG seen on any other Security cameras that night?

Spouse lawyered up. I know not unusual but still…it always gives me pause. Just saying.

In my heart I believe that if he could, Tyler would have come home to be with his children and family for Thanksgiving. The fact that he did not, or could not, speaks volumes.

Had it not been for the call to LE that fateful night, I would be thinking Tyler was injured or killed on his run and that is why he never came back. The rest might just be red herrings.

At this stage, I don’t believe Tyler is able to come back. I’m still sitting on the fence as to what really happened and why. Foul play is still on my list.

I feel foul play or self harm in this situation. If self harm tho.....how? He did not take anything with him such as a backpack. No mention of anyone seeing him purchase anything at a convenience store. How could he of harmed himself with a phone and his wallet?

We have no indication he returned, BUT he was not reported missing until the following morning I believe?? He could have easily returned after his run or been located after the time he left and was hurt be someone. We really do not know at this point. (JMO)

Just read the thread. From what we know: Tyler went to his job at the prison as he would normally do (assume a 9-5 shift), stopped by Costco after work (assume an hour or less there), came home (assume after 6), less than two hours later husband called 911 for a domestic disturbance at 7:41, Tyler leaves and is seen on video running away from his home, Snapchat ping at 8 ?, and he does not return by morning when husband calls 911 to report him missing. Obviously we don't know potential underlying causes like substance abuse, domestic abuse, or child abuse or something specific that precipitated Tyler fleeing his home within two hours of arriving home from work.

Speculating on scenarios leading up to the disturbance 911 call:

• He came home and a new domestic situation escalated rapidly (initiated by either Tyler or Marshall) and was intense enough that he left his home running because he needed to get away from the situation right away. He already had the phone and wallet in his pocket. Either didn't think to take the car or needed the run to clear his head.
• He came home and an existing disagreement escalated (initiated by either Tyler or Marshall) and he left his home running because he was overwhelmed. He already had the phone and wallet in his pocket. Either didn't think to take the car or needed the run to clear his head.
• His husband told him something that triggered him (military PTSD?) and he left running because he was overwhelmed. He already had the phone and wallet in his pocket. Either didn't think to take the car or needed the run to clear his head.
• He came home and told his husband that he was leaving the marriage, conflict ensued, husband calls 911, and then he left running to meet someone so he needed his phone and wallet but not the car.

Search Warrant served at TG’s home pretty quickly after disappearance. Well, you need a pretty good reason to get a search warrant. What was that reason?

The reason was because the police had received a 911 call the night before about a serious domestic dispute between the two partners.

The potential situation was that TG had come home after police left, the dispute had escalated to murder, and the partner was covering that up by claiming TG had never come home.

That possibility had to be investigated and cleared right away, rather than go through the charade of looking for someone who had perhaps been murdered at home

The only issue with this is that the call went in at 7:47... six minutes after the video of him running away. I wonder if M threatened to call and that's why T left? Otherwise, there had to be a reason M felt it necessary to call six minutes after the fight ended.

However, the latest sources state police arrived at around 7:45, just after T left, so IMO, they must have been called earlier than 7:47...that seems perhaps the time they arrived, rather than when the 911 call was made, as it takes time for them to get there...

However, the latest sources state police arrived at around 7:45, just after T left, so IMO, they must have been called earlier than 7:47...that seems perhaps the time they arrived, rather than when the 911 call was made, as it takes time for them to get there...

The source for the phone call time of 7:47 is the police report. The source for the 7:41 time is the LSO press conference, where they said the last ping from his phone and the video of him running from the house were both approximately at 7:41. I don't have the links at the moment, but they are both upthread.
