neighbors being questioned about handyman

  • #221
Please don't apologize. I worked with "real" homeless schizophrenics and still "work" with them at a food pantry/kitchen. Jersey is far from being the inner city spooky homeless guy. I thought he was a "real" homeless spooky guy up until 10 minutes ago too. :) He sounds more like an annoying party guy who bums off his friends and is a petty thief.

According to the girlfriends landlord-police told him Jersey hadn't shown up to his parole officer or the half-way house (I guess he was registered at) and that he was told (by PD-I assume) that Jersey had stolen from the bar and broken into homes around the neighborhood.

Okay then...wow. I am starting to take this guy a little more seriously now. If he was a thief and he did live across the street at some point, maybe he was involved. I hope not though. Because I cannot think of a good reason for him to take that baby.

The fox4kc video states that Jersey and his girlfriend lived in the cute yellow house which was two doors up from the demolished house. I am uncertain whether the girlfriend and Jersey rented the entire house or just part of it.

I saw the girlfriend's landlord saying he rented her a room and kicked her out in august for not paying rent.

This occurred after he moved out from living with his girlfriend in the yellow house which was two doors up from the demolished home. I wonder if the "stolen from homes around the neighborhood" is a euphemism for ripped off the two people (and their homes) whom he had lived with in the neighborhood?

I agree-he may be a very troubled young man who is totally innocent. But, let's check everything and everyone out.:twocents:

It says he has stolen from homes in the neighborhood, but no one knows what this means since he has lived in two homes in the neighborhood. This could be a dispute over dvds and cds that were shared as roommates as opposed to slicing a window screen and climbing into a stranger's home to steal things.

Could very well be!! All I'm saying is that in order to solve this horrible crime - LE must leave no stone unturned!!

He skipped parole, so he should definitely be in jail right now. Maybe that's why he took off. When I initially watched the video, I had the impression that he was on parole for breaking into houses and stealing from the grocery store. I watched it again and I don't think it's necessarily clear when he was breaking into houses and stealing from the grocery store. Regardless, he's a drunk and a thief. That doesn't mean he's definitely a kidnapper. MOO

Wasn't JI's truck broken into about a month ago?

I tend to agree. I think Jersey is probably more of a young man with a drinking problem then the crazy guy downtown. BUT, I still think he needs to be questioned. MOO :twocents:

Well I disagree. This "Jersey" guy needs to be found soon. After seeing the video, if this guy is laying low there is a reason for it. MOO

True, but IF he did have a Parole officer then he has a recent criminal record. And if he did crash w/friends and live in abandoned homes, then he is probably a crack or meth addict, as well as a heavy drinker. Just speculation, but may very well be true. Who lives in abandoned homes when they are capable 'handymen'? Usually addicts/alcoholics.

I think it is a little more than a misunderstanding over a roomate's dvd's. I am going to guess he was a full on petty thief/burglar. imoo

I don't know if he lived across the street from Lisa's but a neighbor woman who gave a ride to jersey said she dropped him off at the house across from Lisa's.

I agree. Missing his parole officer meeting (=going to jail) is likely the reason he hasn't been seen since Oct 1 (3-4 days before Lisa disappeared).

He'll turn up eventually. I hope they can talk to him and take his name off the table. I want to know who did what to Lisa and where she is~ JMHO.

I think the statement "lived in abandoned homes" was likely incorrect as none of the neighborhood residents stated such a thing. The neighborhood residents and both video stated that he lived in two different homes in the neighborhood. None were the demolished home.

I agree!! Hopefully that's the only reason!!

I dont know if I would call him an alcoholic. He got told to leave a bar.

I've been told to leave a bar many many years ago. I wasn't spitting on people but---well I got asked to leave for something else (dancing where I wasn't supposed to).

I've been drunk (even at a bar) but I'm not an alcoholic.

I'm not sure I agree with theorizing he is a drug user either. He's not a suspect or POI. LE just wants to talk to him.

Just my two cents.

If he is innocent of anything involving the baby then I hope he has the common sense necessary to call his parole officer and work out a deal. Ignore his missing meeting in exchange for him coming back and being interviewed by the cops. I can dream anyway.

The longer he stays away the guiltier it makes him look. imoo

Whew, thanks for the videos and info everybody! I think I am up to speed on the handyman thanks to you all....yep sounds like they need to talk to him at the very least. Glad we know that its all one guy and not a bunch of them. That makes it a little easier to follow. I sure hope he is just missing because he found some work somewhere and will contact LE and clear things up. The parole thing worries me though. Why wouldn't he check in?

homeless, stealing from the grocery store, missing from his halfway house, breaking into houses in lisa's neighborhood and not being seen since lisa disappeared doesn't make him a kidnapper but it is a sure way to get yourself on LE's radar. Hopefully today is the day they find him.
