and that's partly what i don't understand, why people have so much hatred against these guys, when #1 it's free speech, they very rarely these days actually ACT on it-- whereas the gangs do, they make a lifestyle of it.
and #2, it's the gangs & thugs who are really out there killing, stealing, mugging, rioting, and terrorizing people on the streets, every day.. and i don't see anyone hurling rocks at them. (because if you do, you'd get shot pronto!)

how exaclty is that supporting racists, by saying they have a point? i am just asking why there is so much more hate towards these people than the violent thugs they are against. it's just a question. i don't see anyone calling THEM "filthy, disgusting killers" ... which is exactly what they are. everyone wants so coddle them and defend them, but if you meet one in a dark alley and they feel like targeting you, you think he's going to spare your life? you want to talk about racism.... i lived in a city that was filled to overflowing with anti-white (and anti-everything but themselves) racists-- shamelessly open about it, the worst kind you every saw, -- but funny how no one ever wants to talk about THAT. and funny how no one ever wants to talk about how racism works both ways, it works ALL sorts of ways. caucasians/"european-americans" don't own the patent on racism, and in fact nowadays, i find they are the minority (of racists). and a lot of the younger people these days who ARE becoming so, are reacting to frightening changes in our society they are unhappy with, and feel powerless to do anything about it. hence the protesting of the black gangs. this does NOT mean i condone violence, and i personally find it ridiculous that some of them want to oust all jews, catholics, etc....! but when the news jumps on an instance of a white person being racist (or supposedly racist), everyone jumps on it like it's the most horrific thing ever, when other forms of racism (against whites) happen every day everywhere, and everyone looks the other way and just accepts it (including whites). it's as if people think we deserve it, and it's somehow OK.

no one's "supporting racism" here, it's just a discussion and there are many sides of the issue. but of course, when this subject comes up, it pushes everyone's buttons big time.

however, what this country needs is more open discussion about this issue... not to look the other way and pretend it doesn't exist.

Almost all of the gangs in our town are whites, and they are filthy disgusting killers, dealers...etc. And we are trying to crack down on the hatred and violence that is put upon others. Saying that racists who "these days very rarely act..." on their beliefs are better than these gangsters is just plain ignorant. Yes there is discrimation in all walks of life and I'm not disputing that, but to say you support them in their freedom of speech is insane. Gives them more power and breeds more hatred between them and everybody else.

You are right about one thing. Racism isn't just a white issue. I have witnessed it coming toward me and mine in what would be called reverse racism. HOWEVER, all racists are "skinnin' their ignorance" as my granny used to say.

Hate based on skin color, religion or sexual preference is disgusting. I really believe the reason we are all here is to learn to overcome these prejudices and love one another. These racists certainly have the right to free speech. That does not mean I have to listen to the runoff spilling out of their mouths.

If there were any gangs or "violent thugs" going out in public, trying to drum up support for their supposed cause, I think I speak for everyone here that we'd be just as much against them. Spewing that kind of hatred is plain wrong. And who do you mean by "them"? Are you including whites in this scenario? If I met any colored in a dark alley, I'd be concerned for my life, which is why I don't hang out in any. By colored, I mean white, black, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, you name it.

I get sick of the racism spewed both ways, too. There are many times I hear something on TV and think, if that were the other way around there would be a huge uproar. That doesn't mean I think it's right. And it doesn't mean that every person of that origin feels the same as the person speaking it. Just because one certain color or gender does something wrong, doesn't give anyone the right to classify the whole of that color or gender like that. You talk about the freedom of speech, what about the freedom of individuals?

People hate the street gangs as well as the racists (see the Tookie Williams threads) - but there is one sense in which the street gangs are better than the racists. They aren't trying to say that several million people are subhuman just because of how they were born. The neo-nazi's just use the concept of the gangs and the inner city to excuse their point of view, ignoring all of the white gangs, white criminals.

And there is some degree of responsibility on the part of the neo-nazis too - just because they don't get to lynch people much these days doesn't mean they don't do harm - they refuse jobs, they are racist in the court system, when determining whether or not to give a loan, to give a customer a break when they're down. Racists are a subtle plague as well as a blatant one. And all of these things add up to support the street gangs, by making it harder for people to get out of these situations, by denying legitimate opportunities to people because of their skin color. Every single neo-nazi has an impact, wherever they work, whatever they do -whether it is their presence on a jury, in a bank, or even just as a customer likely to complain about a black employee but not a white one.

They are slime. So are gang members. So are pedophiles. So are several other types of human failings. Just because other people are bad doesn't make them right in any way shape or form. Just because they don't (or some of them don't - there's lots of skinhead, neo-nazi gangs) sell drugs and do drive by shootings doesn't make them good, not even marginally.
