GUILTY Netherlands - Malaysia Flight MH17 shot down in Ukraine. 298 aboard. 7/17/2014 #4

Tony Abbott has confronted Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the APEC leaders' summit in Beijing, holding him complicit in the downing of flight MH17 and calling for Russia to apologise and consider restitution.

During a sharp 15 minutes, Mr Abbott pointed out that when the US had inadvertently shot down an airliner, it had apologised and paid financial compensation.
He commended that precedent to Mr Putin.

And living up to his "shirtfront" threat, he revealed directly to Mr Putin that Australia was in possession of information suggesting that MH17 was destroyed by a missile from a launcher that had come out of Russia, was fired from inside Eastern Ukraine and then returned to Russia.

Mr Abbott noted that if true, it would be a very serious matter.

The high-octane meeting, which made headlines around the world, was originally intended to take place in Brisbane at the G20.

And judging by the look on Putin's face, he is thinking 'yeah, yeah .... whatever ....'

And I see there is still haggling over access to the site. :sigh:

A Dutch effort to salvage wreckage from the Malaysia Airlines crash site in eastern Ukraine has been unable to start because no deal has been reached with local rebel groups.

The Dutch experts arrived at the MH17 crash site early on Tuesday.

However, they have refused to talk to the rebels, relying instead on European security officials to broker a deal.

A rebel spokesman from the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic told Russia's Interfax news agency that the Dutch experts were unhappy with "certain points of protocol on gathering the wreckage".

'RECOVERY OF WRECKAGE MH17 DELAYED BECAUSE OF DISAGREEMENTS'

RTL-Nieuws reports:
http://www.rtlnieuws.nl/nieuws/binnenland/berging-mh17-uitgesteld-door-onenigheid

Translation:

The salvage of the wreckage of flight MH17 is being delayed, because there is no agreement on the working arrangements with local representatives.

This was communicated by the head of the repatriation mission, Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, on Dutch Radio 1. It is unclear what the disagreement between the Dutch and Ukrainians actually consists of. The intention was that today the salvage of the aircraft's wreckage would start. The Dutch Safety Board reported last week that arrangements had been made about the recovery.

According to Russian media Dutch experts decided to postpone the recovery. "Last night the Dutch side let us know that the beginning of the salvage operation was postponed indefinitely," a government spokesperson said to TASS news agency. According to him, the Dutch are not satisfied with the text of the protocol for the salvage operations.

Aalbersberg says the mission is certainly ready. "In Donetsk, we are all set together with the Recovery Mission that the Dutch Safety Board supports, to proceed with the recovery. But at present, the OSCE representatives have not yet reached an agreement on the working arrangements. They are still talking. That means we continue today with what we have been doing last week: the search for human remains. "

Dutch magazine Elsevier offers more alledged details:

Translation:

What those negotiations are about exactly is not clear. According to Russian media, the Dutch experts have trouble with the name of the People's Republic of Donetsk being mentioned in the agreement on the salvage work. The Netherlands do not recognize the self-proclaimed republic and want the name taken of the protocol.

If this is true, The Netherlands will bite the dust once again by insisting on rules of protocol.

BBM

As I am translating this, Dutch journalists are trying to find out what is the matter and pose questions to the OSCE, but the OSCE does not comment because the negotiations are ongoing.
Let's hope that they solve matters quickly, and do whatever is needed. Winter won't wait, nor will the war.

Meanwhile, the repatriation mission recovered human remains at the scene of MH17 in Ukraine . The remains were found on the 'burn sites', places where fire raged after the crash.
The team also recovered personal belongings. A local resident returned two identity cards of the victims to the team. "It is important for the relatives to have these documents brought home to them ," according to Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, leader of the mission.

Oh boy ...

A CONVOY of heavily armed Russian war ships, including at least one high powered missile cruiser, are cruising international waters to Australia’s north, Defence has confirmed.

Defence is monitoring the fleet of four ships, which include a cruiser, a destroyer a tug boat, and a refueller, which were believed to in the Coral Sea, south of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea on Wednesday evening.

Australian ships HMAS Parramatta and HMAS Stuart were ordered to “crash sail” to the Coral Sea earlier this week in a bid to “greet” the Russian fleet. It is believed HMAS Parramatta arrived last night and HMAS Stuart was a day a way.

Channel 7 news reported that Russian warships are “steaming toward Australia” in a “show of strength”. It reported that it is a “defiant show of force from the super power, ahead of this weekend’s G20 meeting of world leaders” in Brisbane.

President Vladimir Putin ordered the fleet which is headed by Russia’s flagship vessel, The Varyag, to “show the flag” off the Queensland coast by Saturday morning.

Thanks Donamena .... oh my goodness, there has been a Russian spy ship off the US east coast and in the Gulf of Mexico for a month, and Russian bomber patrols will regularly fly from the Arctic to the Gulf of Mexico! This is how Putin responds to condemnation of the attacks on Ukraine and the MH17 incident??!! :scared:

DUTCH SALVAGE TEAM BRINGS TOW TRUCK TO CRASH AREA

Jeroen Akkermans, RTL-Nieuws reports:
http://www.rtlnieuws.nl/nieuws/buitenland/fotos-groot-materieel-tussen-brokstukken-mh17

Translation:

For the first time the Dutch salvage team in Ukraine worked with a tow truck at the crash area of MH17. RTL News correspondent Jeroen Akkermans took new pictures at the location today. The pieces of wreckage were lifted from the ground with a crane, probably to see if there were no human remains beneath [*]. Taking the wreckage from the location is not yet on the agenda. "The Dutch salvage team have arrived at MH17," says Jeroen Akkermans. "They have not brought a loader, so the removal of the wreckage is for later."

[*] It was later confirmed that, once again, human remains have been found. The remains will be transferred to Kharkiv for forensic examination.

HUMAN REMAINS TRANSPORTED TO KHARKIV

RTL-Nieuws reports:
http://www.rtlnieuws.nl/nieuws/binnenland/stoffelijke-resten-mh17-naar-charkov

Translation:

Today the repatriation mission of MH17 will transfer the mortal remains that were found [yesterday] from Donetsk to Kharkov.

Personal belongings that were found at the crash site will be transferred too and will first be subjected to a forensic examination.

Today no work is being done at the crash site. At this moment there are no tasks for a small team, according to Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, leader of the mission. For further work the team must be bigger, with more forensic experts and heavy equipment. And then it must be allowed further access to the crash site.

The talks about salvaging the wreckage between the OSCE and the local disaster relief SES are still ongoing. Once arrangements are made, the mission can start immediately.

ITAR-TASS AND RUSSIAN TV PUBLISH EVIDENCE THAT MH17 WAS DOWNED BY FIGHTER JET

Russia’s Channel One show satellite photo evidencing MH17 was downed by fighter jet
First, the Boeing came under gun fire and then the cockpit was hit by an air-to-air missile, its right engine and the right wing were hit by a heat-seeking missile

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Russia’s television Channel One said on Friday it had a photo presumably made by a foreign spy satellite in the last seconds of Malaysia’s MH17 flight over Ukraine.
Channel One showed Ivan Andriyevsky, the first vice president of the Russian Union of Engineers, demonstrating a photo sent by a George Beatle, who had introduced himself as an air traffic controller with a 20-year working record.

Oh well...... I'm having a great time on Twitter reading the comments by Brown Moses and the circle around Bellingcat.
They are ripping the report apart, piece for piece. The aircraft, the area, on and on it goes.

From Brown Moses Timeline on Twitter:

@Brown_Moses

Looks like in this new MH17 satellite "evidence" the position of the Malaysia airlines logo is in the wrong place

Also, the satellite map image put MH17 50km west of the crash site, oops

Looks like at least some of the Russian's MH17 sat image is from a 2012 Google Earth file

RT Dr Marco Langbroek @Marco_Langbroek ·
@Brown_Moses Anyone noted already that the UTC time shown in image is 13 hours before the incident?

RT Dr Marco Langbroek @Marco_Langbroek ·
@Brown_Moses After consulting a few other people too: no Russian sat capable of such detailed imagery was over the area

Looks like the image used to fake MH17 in the Russian sat images was the first image results for "боинг вид сверху" https://twitter.com/thunderquack/status/533366353382887424 …

BELLINGCAT:'RUSSIAN TV SHARES FAKE IMAGES OF MH17 BEING ATTACKED'

"On Friday November 14th, Russian state television ran a story of supposed foreign satellite images showing the last moments of flight MH17, with a fighter jet appearing to fire at the plane. Suspicions arose immediately on Twitter, and inconsistencies were pointed out, quickly leading to the conclusion the image is a crude fabrication.

To start, the image has been posted on a Russian message board on October 15th, claiming to originate from WikiLeaks. This contradicts the origin of these images as being “George Bilt”, whose e-mail dated November 9th was reported as the source of these images."

OSCE REACHES AGREEMENTS ON THE SALVAGE OF THE WRECKAGE MH17

The Dutch Department of Security and Justice informs:
http://www.rijksoverheid.nl/ministe...-afspraken-over-berging-wrakstukken-mh17.html

Translation:

News | 14-11-2014

Today under the direction of OSCE agreements were reached about the recovery of wreckage of the MH17.
Salvaging the wreckage is important for further investigation.

Tomorrow extra team members of the Dutch mission will travel from Kharkov to Donetsk for logistical support. Hopefully they will begin as soon as possible with their tasks together with the local emergency services (SES). Salvaging the wreckage is done under the responsibility of the Dutch Safety Board (OVV). The OVV will inform - as soon as this is possible - when the salvage has actually started. The security situation remains fragile and every day it is examined if work at the crash site is possible.

Last night, a source in Mr Putin's delegation in Australia said the Russian leader planned to leave the G20 summit early, after Western leaders blasted Moscow for the crisis in Ukraine and threatened more sanctions.

Russia denied it was involved in a recent escalation of military activity in Ukraine, where fighting has claimed more than 4,000 lives, but faced strong rebukes from Western leaders, including US president Barack Obama and Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper.

"I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: you need to get out of Ukraine," Mr Harper told Mr Putin at the summit, according to his spokesman Jason MacDonald.

Mr Putin's isolation at the G20 summit was also evident with his placing on the outer edge for the formal leaders' photograph.

Outside the summit, Ukrainian Australians staged an anti-Putin protest, wearing headbands reading "Putin, Killer".

Draped with the flags of the nations that lost citizens when the flight MH17 was shot down, the demonstrators lay on a large Ukrainian flag, in what they said was a protest at the "murderous acts" Russia's president was responsible for.

Work has begun to remove wreckage from the MH17 crash site in rebel-held eastern Ukraine, Dutch officials say.

The recovery operation was expected to take several days, the Dutch Safety Board said.

The wreckage would assist "the investigation into the cause of the crash", it said in a statement, adding that it intended to reconstruct a section of the aircraft.

SALVAGE OF THE WRECKAGE HAS STARTED AT LAST

NOS-Nieuws reports:
http://nos.nl/artikel/721956-berging-mh17wrak-begonnen.html

Translation:

Dutch experts have started with salvage of the wreckage of flight MH17. Among other debris, parts of the landing gear are removed from the disaster area.

The wreckage will be brought with trailers to a train station nearby and transported to Kharkov. From there a plane will take them to The Netherlands.

NOS correspondent David Jan Godfroid is present at the location of the salvage, "Some aircraft parts, such as the landing gear, are too large to transport in one piece. The Ukrainians who help the Dutch team, shorten these parts so that they fit on the trailers.. "

Around 05:45 hours Dutch time (GMT +1) a convoy of trailers, SUVs and vans left from Donetsk for the disaster area. There they met two hours later.

The wreckage are all still in the disaster area that measures many kilometres. Friday the Dutch Safety Board made arrangements for the retrieval. The Board assumes that the salvage will take at least ten days.
