the caption under the photo in this article says: "Evangeline Parish sheriff's deputy tapes off a wooded area off of La. 10 near Vidrine where law enforcement officers were searching for the body of Michaela "Mickey" Shunick. The remains found on Tuesday were confirmed as Shunick's on Thursday. / AP"

The gravesite was in the grassy area that opens behind the cemetery. You have to listen carefully and look at Google Earth and you will understand.

Try digging a hole in the woods with tree roots. There's a large grassy area behind the cemetery surrounded by trees, and Cpl. Mouton said that yes, it was found in the grassy area.

If y'all don't have Google Earth, it's a free download. It's a handicap not to have it, because it's so dang detailed!

http://www.klfy.com/story/19289684/texas-cold-case-may-have-links-to-brandon-scott-lavergne

Here is a link to the story on KLFY about Ali Lowitzer possibly being linked to BSL.

'Very interesting snipet from the article, imo'..

"The second I read his truck was found in San Jacinto County, Texas, my blood went cold," said Sanford. "And I immediately started digging for information out of it."

That was a red flag for Sanford because in the days after Ali went missing, two separate tips came through, which reported a white truck pulled over where Ali was walking. "They were saying without a shadow of a doubt, they knew it was Ali once they saw all the missing fliers," said Sanford. "And that they saw a white truck with an extended cab, a domestic truck trying to coax and girl on the side of the road."

And one of those tips identified the first few digits of that truck's license plate number. But after running thousands of Texas plates, none matched up. It wasn't until Lavergne's truck was found burned that Sanford tried Louisiana plates. And what he found, startled him.

"Low and behold, on that hunch, I pulled all the information from the Louisiana DMV on vehicle's Lavergne owned and has owned," said Sanford. "And at the time Ali went missing, he owned a white, GMC 2005 extended cab truck with the same digits that were mentioned in the tip line."

Sanford says Lavergne frequented that area of Texas because of family ties. And now he's working on pinning Lavergne to that spot around April 26th, 2010.

Just curious. Does anyone think LE would have made any kind of plea agreement with BSL, taking the DP off the table, if he led them to her grave, but insisted her death was an accident? I cant believe that they would, but I also cant believe that he would lead them to her grave otherwise, and I feel certain they were led to her. I dont believe they would have found her in 1000 years otherwise. So, absent a plea change, I am really stumped as to what Friday's hearing could be about.

ETA..the only other scenario I can picture is that someone else did know details and led them to the body in exchange for some degree of immunity.

http://www.katc.com/news/texas-moth...t-leads-to-information-in-her-daughters-case/

KATC's Erin Steuber has been in contact with Ali's family for the last week. She was interested in giving us an interview but now, she has been advised by law enforcement not to talk to the media because of an ongoing investigation in her daughter's case. Ali's mother says "My goal is to find my daughter. I will never give up until I do."

One thing I can contribute, as a former journalist, that most people don't know, is that photo captions are not written by the reporter. They are written by the photographer. Due to this very old journalistic tradition, many errors find their way into captions. They are not usually reviewed by the reporter before publication. I can't tell you how many times I chewed out a photographer for getting the caption egregiously wrong on one of my stories, so that I had to go to the backshop and personally cut it off the boards with an X-acto knife and rewrite it. But the only reason I caught the errors was because I was also an editor. Wearing two hats gave me a leg up.

Photo captions do not usually get the same editorial scrunity as stories, and this has always been a weak point in print journalism.

No problem :)

Hmm, any particular reason?

Yes. I found some info while sleuthing. Someone concerned took down a license plate from a white truck, posted their concerns online 11/08/09...

I can't link it... cause MSM has not reported it.

My grandparents and my daddy spoke Cajun French too. They were from Abbeville. I was well into adulthood before I realized that not everyone from Abbeville spoke French. I still have a hard time not associating the two!

My mom is from Abbeville too, and her parents spoke French all the time. I remember my Pawpaw whispering the Rosary in French daily when I was little. I'd climb in his lap and say "Tell me the secret PawPaw." Sometimes I'd cry when they'd all speak in French around the dinner table. I hated not knowing what they were saying.

I picked up a few French nursery songs and lots of sayings, but I certainly can't speak it.

Regarding BSL taking the time and effort to dig a five foot deep grave,I think that it's possible he had her body elsewhere, then when the media coverage (locally) and community support and effort became so massive, he was like, "uh-oh" and then decided to move Mickey. I think that then he probably would decide that he should put in some real work to make sure she wouldn't be found. Desperation is a powerful motivator. I think BSL seriously underestimated the passion and drive of this region to find Mickey and bring her home. At first, at least. Moo

Others here have pointed out the curious white spots in the woods just east of the actual cluster of graves, as seen from above on Google Maps/Google Earth. But look closely at those white spots. Maybe it's my eyes playing tricks on me, but I see something else.

I won't yet reveal what it is that I see...I want to see if I'm the only one who sees it.

. . . . . .

Thanx for sharing, Coullion.. If and unless BS Lavergne is plea bargaining with LA & TX & ?, to give up any unknown victims identity & location, I sure hope they are using the resources of the FBI BAU. With BSL's distinct pattern of using jurisdictional linkage blindness, it is doubtful that Alexandria "Ali" Lowitzer, would be located in the same jurisdiction that she was abducted from.

Unless BSL is coming clean as to the full truth of his evil trail of terror, I would have to disagree with the advice being given to Ali's parents to keep silent. If it were my daughter, I'd be shouting from the rooftops...

If not for the awareness due to MSM & the internet in Mickey Shunick's case, the connection to BSL may have gone unnoticed due to jurisdictional linkage blindness.. How many other missing women are there from that area of Texas?

"Silence only leads to more innocent lives lost and mounting cold cases in the Silent Epidemic"...
"When will they ever learn"?

If it was dated May 31st, was a mound of dirt visible?

Does anyone have a link of the location of the 3 mounds of dirt? I want to look on Google Earth ... really curious if by some chance they can be seen ... could at least tell if they were BEFORE or AFTER May 31 2012:what:

Cajun Friends,

Does anyone know what this means and how to spell it? My mom always says, now that's "boss closs" (that's how it's pronounced). She would use it in the context, like "BSL is boss closs" (trashy). My family is from Erath btw!

On another note, would the hearing Friday be to present the information of Mickey's body or any information received to date? Didn't they arrest him without the body and now that they have found her, it's significant to the case?

HouDat ... I don't know what I see but it sure is bothering me that I can't figure it out. The white things seem to have "colors" around them. I have looked at all angles, etc ... I have no clue. What do you think they could be????

i'm not cajun, but i believe the phrase is bas clas...the reason i know this is because of a louisiana band that went by this name...and they said the name meant "low class" in cajun french.

"This Statement by PI Mac Sanford, speaks volumes, imo". "It all surrounds the DWT"

http://www.katc.com/news/texas-moth...t-leads-to-information-in-her-daughters-case/

On April 26th, 2010, 15-year-old Ali Lowitzer went missing near her home in Spring, Texas. She seemed to have vanished without a trace and since then, no clues to her whereabouts have surfaced. But, the Lowitzer family's private investigator, Mac Sanford, seems to think Lavergne may be connected.

And it all surrounds Lavergne's white pick-up truck.

I've been trying to read all posts before chiming in but my brain ain't what it used to be. I'll forget my question long before I get to the last post.

So...

Does anyone know what time LE arrived at Pinseclair? I'm wondering how long LE was out there before news crews arrived. Just trying to think out the time frame and all since BSL was checked out around 6:40 and checked backed in around 3:30.

i remember mouton saying in one of the very first interviews that the gravesite was surrounded by trees. then suddenly there's a clearing within those trees.

i'm guessing it was in one of those 2 circles areas of grass right smack dab in the middle of the screen. he prob got poison ivy going through the trees to get to the grassy area.

a few nights ago i posted the following:
this is a little off topic, but i'm curious about these photos/pictures and their locations. it looks as thoughthe "camera man" manages to get on the other side of the crime tape in separate news reports.

this really isn't important, i guess. but i am curious on others' perception of this. just trying to figure out where they are taking their pictures

see the photo of the CSI guy behind the tape (not the first photo with tape and stop sign. the 2nd photo)
