Evidently there was a body of a girl found in 2005 in Rapides Parish as well. It's another unsolved homicide, the girl, Shamekka's was strangled, her body found in a ditch. Same county (Rapides Parish) as the other girls. Also, unfortunately, a drug user, as were the other girls. It seems Shamekka was also friends with a girl, Courtney Coco, who also ended up another murdered cold case.

"Shamekka and the crowd she rolled with were often getting into cars, borrowed cars, stolen cars. Cars that would go to B and M Marine-- a little convenience store in lower third, now abandoned. Cars that would go to this rental house, now abandoned.
This is the man who owned the store and rented the house. Residents of lower third say this man also let people take his car for trips up the block or for trips to Houston, Texas. Transportation for drug deals.
Huey Lee Richards: 45 years old at the time of Shamekka’s murder. He’s now in prison for the murder of a 17 year old boy-- La’kedrick Quinny who was murdered back in February of 2005."

One resident we spoke to says Courtney Coco and Shamekka were at B And M Marine a few nights before Shamekka turned up dead. And Courtney Coco and Shamekka could have also spent some time in this rental house.
Huey Richard’s home address was here on Gabriel Lane, our sources say he only kept this place as a secret hide away--for using drugs and having sex. a life away from his real home and his wife and children.
"After Shamekka died, a year before his arrest and conviction for the Quinny boy’s murder, Huey Lee Richards gave Shemekka’s mother money for the funeral. We’ve been told by sources Shamekka and Richards were visibly friendly on the streets.

Goes to show how competent Rapides Parish LE are in general on solving certain homicides.
