I saw 530am for Hartford, and by 8:30 it will start at the MA/NH border... So maybe a little later for you up in NH?

This sucks, blah.

I am hearing 4-6 a.m. start, I am kinda by Hartford. I'm hearing 6-10" here, oh, and there's the wind to contend with...gusts up to 35-45 mph.

Aaand school cancelled for the kids already tomorrow. :sigh: is it horrible to say I'm getting tired of my kids this winter? Lol it's too cold for the teens to go wander around, snow is too deep and the below zero cold has been too much for my younger two, so they all sit inside either bickering or eating everything or complaining about being bored. Can we say cabin fever?!

This winter is driving me nuts, swear to god.

Oh, I'm there GLady, DS is 16 so spends his time on the XBox talking to his Cali friends, but I have paid for his school lunch, but now have to provide lol. Still waiting for our town (which is FAMOUS) for waiting until the VERY LAST MINUTE to cancel class.

I'm in the 12+ zone. My plow came through at 5:30 AM.

I have to get to work, I'm in the flower business. Valentines Day is tomorrow.
My business partner has a Jeep and I have to call her soon to come pick me up. She was gung ho, now she's gone chicken. :truce:

WE'LL MAKE IT, SLOWLY BUT SURELY. Not so much traffic here, so we'll crawl down there. No deliveries, but we'll be there to take calls and get ready for tomorrow.

My crap car will be plowed under today. :please:
I just don't want to shovel any more, I will slide down my steps on my arse.

My legs and back are shot after standing all week for 10 hour days.

My big concern is heavy wet snow. I pray we don't lose power. :please:

Pumping up the heat in case that happens.
If we get down there (10 miles) do we make it home and back there tomorrow morning? My county is very good. We take the road down, and I do mean down towards the Hospital and train station. They keep this road open. Pray for me, :please:

Ack be careful. It's already wet snow here, it's pretty warm out. That totally stinks is on the timing for you, right before Valentines day! One of my friends runs several greenhouses and she is always exhausted around the big flower holidays!

You should be good though if you are near the hospital. I'm lucky I live next door to the hospital, because like you said, they plow around here fast (except my little side street sometimes lol) but what's better is we are always the first to get power back if it goes. :D

So, I just drove down to my market 1/2 mile in my crap car.

I made it. 2nd and 1st gear. Fish tailing. I'm home again.

Lisa chickened out. I called her at 7:30, please pick me up at 9:00.
She never called me back. I had to call her, she yelled at me.

I told her don't come here, you're on your own sister.

I drove my crap car to the store and back. Home now, comfy.
Stay warm guys. :seeya:

Just shoveled about 3" (and that's a feat for me, spinal arthritis) while DS, a shi&*$y 16 yo watched. I am a harda*s, but cannot seem to make him DO anything other than expected.

I was on my own, supporting myself at 16 (job, apartment, roommate, bills)...

I do NOT clean his room, I do NOT do his laundry, I do NOT clean his bathroom...yet I can't seem to get him to do the hard, laborious, tasks for me????? What am I doing wrong?

I realize we're friendly neighbours but sending snow our way is not nice. :snooty:

Snowfall Warning
Issued at Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:22 AM

A total of 15 centimetres of snow is expected over these regions tonight and Friday morning.
A low pressure system over Cape Hatteras will move up the Eastern Seaboard and through the Maritimes while intensifying greatly. Snow associated with the system will begin over Southern Quebec this evening. Total snowfall amounts in general of 15 to 35 centimetres are expected. The Eastern Townships, Charlevoix and Eastern Gaspésie regions will receive up to 50 centimetres of snow. Strong to high northeasterly winds are also expected with this system. Snow mixed with winds will give widespread blowing snow. Exposed areas of the Lower St Lawrence, the Gaspé Peninsula and the north shore will be especially affected by zero visibilities in blowing snow since winds reaching up to 100 km/h are expected. Beware, these difficult winter conditions could make travel impossible. Meanwhile, after a short lull on Saturday, a second storm could affect the Eastern Gaspé Peninsula and the Lower North Shore beginning Saturday night. The exact track of the storm still remains uncertain.

We got about 10", and it's supposed to snow again tomorrow :tantrum: :banghead: :scared: Where is the spring?????? :fence:

We have flurries here in central Mass right now... And 4-6 predicted for tonight. Seriously? Snow is like waist high on me and the piles on the sides of the driveway are way over my head. I'm just going to burrow away somewhere till spring. :waiting:

Its snowing by me on Long Island, NY. :banghead:

I cannnnnn't take it anymore.....

The last storm turned by front stoop into thick ice. My Grandson was using a hammer and a screwdriver to chop it away. I was afraid the ice would hit him in the eye so I boiled hot water and poured it on the stoop and put rock salt on it.. :floorlaugh: It worked...

Just light snow here in central CT - but not sticking to the roads yet (but it IS sticking to the 10" snow piles we already had :truce: lol)....

I keep saying to myself - this too shall pass :please:

Snow was knee high here yesterday. I had to force my door open.
There's 2' outside.

Miss Thing had to come and pick me up, poor dear. The sun came out brightly to melt the snow on the streets. Puddles, mud and slush will be yucky. 2+ feet along roads with 6+ foot piles at corners.

Forecast is 3-6" over night. :tantrum:
DPW pick up with plow just came through to clear a bit more. I think the guy lives on my street. :loveyou:

I'm all cleared out, steps are clean. Went to store for food and wine.
Anti pasto and cooking all afternoon to re-energize.

Think of Spring!!! Planning my herb and veggie garden, start some seeds!!

:seeya:

PS: ETA: I went to 3 stores today. Organic market for a few things-they had no produce.
Wine, shelves were lean.
Small local market, I got what I needed, but they were also waiting for deliveries.

My point is, trucks come up 95 corridor to make deliveries. When the grid goes down do to snow/weather we are all effected.

Even in flower business. If the trucks can't make it up, we have nothing to sell. Don't take anything for granted.

From what I heard 9,000 flights were canceled.
