They’re so cheerful at namus! Informing users of coming credential changes 4 October 2025.

“As part of an ongoing Office of Justice Programs-led initiative, NamUs is next in line for Digital Identity and Access Management (DIAMD) integration! DIAMD is the Department of Justice’s secure user management system and uses multifactor authentication (MFA) to verify identity.”

What’s DIAMD ?

“DIAMD = Digital Identity and Access Management

DIAMD is the Department of Justice’s secure user management system and uses multifactor authentication (MFA) to verify identity.

DIAMD will help maintain the integrity of the database by bolstering our security measures and ensuring that only appropriate individuals can view investigation-sensitive information. This process is just one of many ways that OJP is working to keep your investigations safe and provide the resources you need to move forward.”

IMO, it’s probably going to be similar to logging into id.me on similar .gov websites

I used to help people use id.me. It was miserable.

Will this change which information can be viewed by the general public? Or just better ensure that the information already hidden is even more secure?
