I'm not sure of the circumstances or how the DA pulled it off, but Lisa Stebic's children had to testify before a grand jury. Her husband and his attorney were not able to stop it. I would love to see something like that in this case. Lisa's children were a few years older though at the time their mother disappeared.

I agree! I just do not understand why they can't ask the children any questions. I have grandchildren around the same age and the 3 year old is very aware of what is going on. It is almost like they are afraid they might "offend someone".

People are trying to hold on to hope for Susan, but it is like beating your head against the wall. Maybe, the WVPD really messed up the investigation and they don't want to admit it! Thank goodness, they didn't handle the Ethan Stacy investigation. I have the utmost respect for the police (especially the Layton, Utah PD), but the longer this goes on, the less likely we will find Susan.

The picture Charlie is holding where he wrote, 'My Mommy is beautiful'? Does anyone here honestly think he wrote that all by himself? Neat as the handwriting is? My son's goin in first grade & its not that neat, but he's still a neat writer according to his teacher. Just to clarify, I'm not knocking his penmanship, just find it highly suspect compared to what I've seen not only in my son's handwriting, but his classmates as well.
Another thing, I'm totally repulsed that it appears that psycho and senior psycho told the boys that 'mommy just left them and they have no idea why' ::: whimper whimper, sniff sniff :::

Finding trustworthy spiritual support is more critical now than ever, since according to the media, members of the Mormon community had been pressuring Susan to divorce Josh on the basis of his beliefs. Josh and his family have recently enjoyed the fellowship of religious communities that share his and Susan's pro-family values.

So who is financing all this?

Josh's and Susan's boys have been on many outings with their daddy. Family outings and activities have created a continuity for Josh and the boys at a time when everything else has been turned upside down.

On the Volcano page, is it me or anyone else find it ironic, that first Josh is heard saying by several people that a cave or mine shaft is the best place to hide a dead body, and he chooses a volcano for the boys to study? Subliminal there?

This site is such a joke it is beyond anything I've ever seen in my life. I agree with Pickie awhile ago when she said along the lines, 'Please, please let him add more and more pathetic pages to his site. His words'll hang him'.

Well. I think we know the answer to that one and you even answered your own question. I'm still beyond speechless that Josh can refuse to cooperate with police and other authorities possibly involved, and just go about his life and theres not a darn thing the police can do about it. Just beyond words, I am. Beyond words.

We already know his state of mental health is questionable at best. Just how long does he think he can hide from the world, holed up in daddy's house, homeschool (using that term loosely, so you know) those boys.....ugh! I'm guessing his 'outings' with the boys (for educational purposes ::: cough-cough :::) will be to locations where he's less likely to run into many other people. ugh! I just keep thinking of those poor boys and my heart just breaks.

Most of Josh's friends and even many co-workers were Mormon. When they heard that Josh was moving in with his ex-Mormon father, Steve Powell, some of them started magically "remembering" things about Josh that were terrible but untrue.

Mormons frequently remind church members not to associate with people who disagree with their religious views, so Josh's moving in with an ex-Mormon was seen by them as a step down a very wrong path.

Josh's estranged sister, Jennifer Graves, is among these detractors. She made it clear that she does not recognize the need to protect the children from the media and general hostility prevalent in Utah.

Jennifer was participating in the "pressure Josh" campaign when she made a concerted effort to alienate Josh from friends in the Mormon Church.

After Josh and the children moved in with Josh's father, Jennifer and Kirk Graves made sure that Mormons knew that Josh's father is critical of Mormonism.

For at least 20 years, Jennifer has hated her father, Steve Powell, for openly expressing his views as an ex-Mormon.

Although Jennifer's siblings have attempted to maintain a relationship with Jennifer over the years, all four of Jennifer's siblings have always felt that Jennifer strongly resented them as well.

Jennifer's long-held grudge has created a divide between Mormons and non-Mormons in the Powell family.

WOW! Just, WOW! I've not read it all, but ....

All of the known administrators and all of the leaders of the "Susan Cox Powell" movement to date (May 2010) are Mormons. It is undeniable that the tone and rhetoric is led by Mormons. We do offer thanks to the many people who have supported Susan and her family in a positive way. However, too many supporters are openly parroting the Mormons' hostility toward Josh and his father Steve, because Steve is an ex-Mormon.

Susan Cox Powell 'movement'? I thought Susan was a person? They make it sound like she wasn't even a person, for crying out loud. Like its some cultist following or something. These people are fools if they believe Mormons are the only ones who are hostile towards Josh. Not only that, I am sure there are many Mormons out there who have no hostility towards Josh or his family at all.

So, now we find out that senior psycho is an ex-Mormon, which clearly explains his sending anti-Mormon literature to Josh. And this diatribe about Jennifer dividing the family between Mormons and non-Mormons? Another state of denial for Steven. To be a fly on the wall when they were kids, pre and post divorce. Sorry, I know I'm everywhere, but I'm 'thinking out loud' here. They are too mentally instable to see that Jennifer's feelings/actions do not stem from who is or isn't a Mormon in that family. And if their definition of asking Josh about what happened that day is their definition of 'pressuring Josh' ..... ugh!

It is unbelievable that anyone would feel threatened by hearing about the family's spiritual progress, considering the importance of God in this family's life.

No! What is unbelievable is that people out there twist the truth about what God is all about. I do not believe for a minute that any 'presence of God' exists in the Powell home, save angels watching over the boys. God does not encourage or condone aiding and abetting or hiding someone who is a suspect in a crime. God does not want us to run from our accusers and refuse cooperation with authorities. He wants us to face our accusers and be responsible for our actions and the free will He gives us. He does not condone what Josh, Steven & the other Washington boys are doing. He does not approve innocent children being used as propaganda.

...*despite some attempts to criticize Josh and Susan's financial decisions to occasionally tighten the belt, Josh and Susan are both fiscally responsible individuals.

Fiscal responsibility does not = Susan earns and Josh takes over from there.

Alexis, completely agree with you 100%. I am horrified and appalled at the blatant lies all over that latest page. It's like Steve is saying (for I have no doubt Steve P wrote it) "This is open war."

For instance--the horribly offensive bit about Susan's faith. Josh was not active in his church. How would he know what Susan said in her testimony at church? Her faith is what kept her in the marriage as long as it did--she believed so strongly in family and trying to make it work. If it wasn't for her faith, she would've left long ago and might still be alive.

I can only hope that they are starting to feel the pressure of public opinion and might get too bold and slip up in some way.

If the author is Josh's father Steven Powell, which I believe it is, it is obvious the man has a temper and is incapable of controlling himself. He may be able to hold back for awhile. But, given time, he just cannot keep his mouth shut and acts on impulse.

I have to wonder if he had doubts when composing and publishing the latest page to the http://susanpowell.org site but because of his mental illness, simply could not resist the urge.

Although Jennifer Graves, Josh Powell's sister, has said a number of things which I am certain offended and angered her father, I am convinced she has used a lot of discretion when speaking to the press as it is obvious to me there are a lot of things she hasn't said.

Must say, it is amazing how much this family keeps to themselves and their 'history' hidden. Even divided, neither side says a word, save the disturbing babbling of a mental defect. I cannot for the life of me imagine what on earth has happened that no one dares discuss it or, ..., anything! After all these years. I'm just speechless. Not to mention, the most worrisome and most important part of it all. You have two innocent boys smack dab in the middle of this tragedy, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why there is this feeling that that is not enough motivation right there to break the silence. What on earth is it about senior that has everyone in that family silenced? What is it? What?

This is all so ridiculous. I've met ex-Mormons who speak in tones similar to this. Sometimes, when you leave a group, you carry hard feelings about that group. Sometimes, your views become slanted. Those left in the group, and even outsiders, can tell that your perspective is obviously tainted. Most of them are just kind enough to let you have your rant - to get it out of your system. Ongoing hate and anger is ugly, and as corrosive to the bearer as acid.

I can honestly say, though, that this is the first time I've heard such a rant from the father of a murderer. It adds sort of a creepy, immoral vibe to it.

I'll get over it. When I get sad, I relax myself with the soft melodies of the song "Sing Softly Wood."
