New Saddam Video- EXTREMELY GRAPHIC AND GORY

A friend of ours was in the hospital last week, and her nurse commented on "all the similarities" between Saddam's execution and the crucifixion of Christ. We were like  WTF?? Neither of us said anything, because she was controlling my friend's pain meds ;) , but we were floored.

Her 2 top reasons were:
1) It was right before a big holiday (I really wondered if she was going to say Easter!)
2) Two other men were supposed to be executed with Saddam, and two men were crucified with Christ.

Eerie, isn't it.

Some people really make me wonder.
Angelmom,
There is nothing eerie about it, it is a sick to even compare the two.

MarthaTex, I agree with you 100%.

Thank you sweetheart. I mean all I've done is teach children for 10 years; and raise two wonderful, sensitve (boy and girl). So what do I know?

I learned in grad school that violence is very disturbing to children, especially the younger they get.

Also Charles Whitman shot at me and killed some of my friends. One girl was pregnant. (she lived, baby died) blood, guts and terror everywhere. the first mass murder in history, by gun.

I do not like violence of any kind; it can be extremely disturbing. I do not like guns. Also some children are more sensitive than others; all children are not the same.

I agree DarkShadows, but respect Angelmom for telling us the story. I found myself laughing out loud, then checked myself, and immediately thought, gosh why would you laugh at something like that!~ :slap:

It could have been Angelmom's style of writing that grabbed me, and it took me by surprise. I was sitting here wondering what bone was pushing that red lump out of his neck and wondering if the sudden snap broke the skin. Just being a sleuth and trying to figure out how in a hanging one would get injuries like he did to his face and neck! Big fat rope that slapped him hard I think.

Hi Daisy, I read in an article that the drop was 3'. I am not sure if that is correct. A poster here had said they usually drop like 14'. I was surprised when I read the 3' because of the post I read here, but I don't think there was 14' for him to drop and hang there, swinging back and forth, from the angle it was videoed.

I think he was in a daze and skared sh*tless before he dropp[ed, but once that guy pulled the lever, it was so quick I don't think Saddam felt anything. Too bad. I saw a show the other night on the History channel about his gassing of that town in the north, and I think he should have been killed in a more painful way. Stoned. They stone people in Iran. Stoning would have been very good!

I looked at the cell phone tape in stills, he had his eyes shut when the trapdoor opened. I tried to fix on the next instant but it was blurred because of the movement. Watching that video makes you wonder if its 'hollywood' produced or real. I expected it to upset me, but it didn't. I know its real, but looked at it like it was a movie.

Hi scandi,:)
Now why would you think that I was disrespecting Angelmom??
Angelmom did not say that she agreed with the statement and I signed off saying "Respectfully"...

I didn't even think of that DS, that you didn't respect what she wrote. I . You are always very careful how you word things, and looks like I worded it wrongly.

I thought as you did that the two were not comparable. And I also wanted to let her know I respected her telling us this story, bizarre as it was. And then her writing of it was so great I had to start laughing, which made me stop and think again about laughing at such a serious subject.

Sorry Sweetie, we really are on the same page. I'm in a flux tonight as it is suppose to start snowing any minute now with 18 degree weather and I am not totally prepared for that. Eegads, I still have no candles and I know the power will go out. Will have to make a late night run to the dollar store. xoxoxo

Hi!

Just in case I wasn't 100% clear before, when I said the similarities were eerie, I was being completely sarcastic. The nurse was the one who seemed to think it was significant, and my friend and I were just baffled.

I wasn't sure whether to be highly offended or laugh at the absurdity of it.

Hi, Scandi! Thanks for responding to my post. It didn't look like a long drop either from the first video. I'm amazed that a 3-foot drop could kill a person that quick and do that kind of damage to the neck area. I learn something new every day! :)

This video and these pictures were not for the West. They were for the Arab world who is used to this type of punishment and demand to see the proof of the execution. We all live in Leave it to Beaver Land compared to them, so we cannot understand why it is that they feel the need to complete the story with the photographs, but they do.

Ok, I quizzed my friend today whose son is fighting in the Sunni Triangle.

This is what he reports: "Most of the Sunnis could care less about the hanging - they're glad he's gone but they don't care. They're more worried about their future".

"It's the media and other countries' media that have "hyped" all this stuff - it was just one (probably) security guard that taunted him; could have been a Shiite "set-up".

Originally there were sunni insurgent problems; still are, but shiites came in to fight. Al Sadr got carried away and now the Sunnis are fighting this militia. Maliki has not acted to stop the militia (end of story) nearly fast or forcefully enough.

Evan and his platoon just fought a huge battle yesterday; there's lots of IED's and sniper fire. THE SUNNIS JUST WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE, AND GET EQUAL REVENUES, ETC.

lol @ big goober.... Yea I guess I have hardened over the years and watching this or the hanging actually did not bother me in the least. Now Nick Berg (yes I watched it) that one just broke my heart and I cried for days over that. I guess Saddam to me wasnt really a human being. I think he had the body of one but his mind was that of a horrible beast.

Actually the actual hanging part of the videos doesn't bother me (as far as being disturbing) but the still of him with the big goober hanging out of his neck is pukey.

Hi Lilpony, Sure glad that you are back in the mix!~

This is what he looked like, OK. If you had an exact replica of Saddam made out of clay, all painted to look exactly like him with his moles and exact features, you then lift up his head which is laid facing to the right on the gurney, and magicly move it 3" more to the left and away from his neck.

He looks odd now, like his neck is elastic and stretched a bit. And he has a beard that is stubby. And right away you see this brilliant true red mark through his beard that is below the jaw line, and about half way between his chin and his left ear. That mark is good sized, and looks like someone kissed him there with bright red lipstick. But when you really look at it, you see it is the fatty tissue or muscle tissue that did lie underneath his skin. The skin has broken open to expose this.

And it looks like when he suddenly dropped, that big fat rope and carbuckle or whatever you call the wound knot of the rope, got him good, and whapped the sh*t out of his face, leaving bruised and red marks under his left eye and cheek.

That's what you would have seen. Scandi
