You know what, if I was a neighbor of JP/SP I wouldn't be getting sleep, I'd have a friend there or someone and we would be on shifts watching the comings and goings of the house. LOL Yeah call me MRS KRAVITS with something like this happens next to you.

Someone just posted on the #findsusan Twitter feed: PLEASE contact me today regarding Susan Powell's case. This is URGENT! (then they left a name and number - I won't post it here).

Probably just someone who had a dream or vision, I would guess. But I thought it was interesting.

Not sure if you all discussed this yet, but on picture 15 of 19 at this link ^ , that rock circle? How does that little area compare to the shots we saw of the tarped area, if you can tell? I'm wondering if this is the same spot. It looks close. Its hard to toggle between...I might try to do a side by side if I can. Spot doesn't look dark enough for a long burning fire to have occurred there, but many variables could be the cause of that. (time, weather, etc)

Thanks for sharing that. Do their other unrelated previous Tweets, if you know, have a psychic type nature to them? Encouraging,, nonetheless.

I looked at that.I didn't see anything. She's in Utah. She seems to be an avid reader. She does seem to follow Spencer Pratt's Twitter feed. So, her judgement is in question, at least a little. :)

I just saw that video of the neighbor yesterday, the guy who heard the car alarm coming from their garage.

I felt it was indicative of someone who was in a big hurry to get something in the car..and was distracted.

Do we know if they typically parked both vehicles in the garage? ...and if both vehicles had car alarms at that time?

My thought is that Susan was in the van. JP locked the van doors, to keep the boys from seeing something if they ventured to the garage

I wish we had an expert here to say whether or not it would be at all likely that a body buried 3 feet or deeper would be in particles that would mix in with dirt after less than two years...it does not seem likely to me...JMO
It's not only body parts mixed with the soil that is important.

The matrix of the burial forms part of the evidence at the scene. The soil could have been mixed with chemicals, or pollen from the soil might be specific enough to trace the origin if the body had been transported over a long distance before it was buried. Trace evidence of poison and narcotics may also be preserved in the matrix. The only way to determine if these are present is by laboratory analysis of soil samples.
Plants occurring on the surface of the grave and in the surrounding area should be collected and pressed in a conventional plant press for analysis by a forensic botanist. It is sometimes possible to determine the postmortem interval by calculating the time it would take for a specific plant species to grow to the size of the collected specimens. Roots that were cut while the grave was being dug should also be collected from the profiles of the grave. By studying the ends and growth rings the forensic botanist can sometimes determine the season in which the root was damaged. Roots growing into the infill may also indicate the time that has elapsed since the grave was dug.

If there is a body buried there, and it is not Susan's, all the details in the evidence will be vital in determining an identification of the remains.

Also from the same link:
All evidence must remain in situ until documented. A clear, concise, meaningful, written description of the pertinent aspects of the crime scene is the most important method of documentation. The recovery should be done in such a fashion that the integrity of the evidence is maintained in order for the information to be acceptable in a judicial or criminal investigation procedure.

It must have been very hard work to dig a grave in December cold weather, with two children in tow no less. What if they said they saw daddy dig something?

Sometimes I wonder if the camping trip wasn't a red herring and they drove around just as an excuse to look for a suitable dumpster somewhere far enough that it wouldn't be searched.

Could JP have driven out there in the rental car and done a better job on the grave - maybe he needed better tools?

The older boy said something last year about how his mommy is mining for crystals, which Topaz Mntn is known for.

AP along with a video person and reporter will be taken to apparent grave site to get a closer look. They'll serve pool for media.

ME: Hrmmm see they want the media to put out the pictures of the dig site for JP/SP. Yep Yep

My thoughts were that possibly JP thought Susan was dead and he was hauling her into the van. But she wasn't, and then she struggled (I hate to think of it this way but....) catching him offguard and so he was trying to smother her while the car alarm was going off. I hope that did NOT happen, but that was what was running through my mind when I heard the neighbor telling about the car alarm that kept going.

I thought that earlier when looking at the pics of the scene of the dig- was it a possible spot that a campfire had been on previously...not that a person was burned, but items related to harming that person or related to disposal.

This whole thing is very confusing to me. I have just never known of anything like it ever. I do hope there is a method to this madness.

Of course JP would know if that area is where he left Susan initially or where he had moved her to, so he is either feeling very confident or is worried as heck.

This whole situation is very odd, beginning with the PC concerning the Nevada search. I have never seen LE proceed in this manner. I am usually always on the side of LE, but this is strange and I am not understanding their reasoning. Either there is something there or there is not. LE could simply state that they were searching that area because it is an area of interest in the search for Susan. They could state that the HRD dogs have shown a great deal of interest in an area where the earth seems to have been disturbed and that they are not sure what they may have yet. LE could just point blank state that as they do not know what they have yet, and they will proceed with care and caution. Then they could use the usual line of not being able to give any more information due to it being an ongoing investigation.

What I do resent is the confusion as to whether there are bones, a gravesite, etc. LE can be much more clear without giving anything away. All of this is odd, very odd.

If the LE working this search does not want criticism, then handle this in a way where some (me and several others) of the puclic do not feel mislead. A good spokesperson/public relations person for that agency is sorely needed, IMO.

I want Susan found and for her parents and family to finally have her remains and give her a proper burial. They need peace of mind. The parents deserve it and so do her precious boys. They are always in my prayers and will remain so.

I just wanted to express my frustration! Right or wrong, this is how I feel.

:twocents: & MOO

POI lawyer up, There is also a gag order, how do you think LE can put pressure on the POI? This is why we are frustrated. MOO

Earlier it was mentioned that they can be called in for an interview. I would do that even if it means they call their attorney and they take the 5th. Just put them through those motions, that will rattle them for sure.

Associated Press reporter Jennifer Dobner was the lone reporter escorted by police, along with two photojournalists, to the dig site to act as a pool for the media. She said the area that police were digging was about 50 yards over a small hill off a dirt and gravel road and would not have been visible from the road.

Although police did not allow her to get close enough to see the actual ground that was being dug up, she described watching the process of how two teams of sifters were going through four mounds of dirt all marked with pink flags. The dirt is brought to the sifters after being carried over in 5-gallon buckets.

The teams used trays that were stacked on top of each other, one to collect bigger chunks of debris and the other smaller pieces. She described the process of shaking the trays back and forth and running hands through the dirt like preparing soil for a garden or sifting flour.

Any piece of debris determined to be interesting by the department's forensic supervisor, Amanda Clark, will be taken back to Salt Lake for further analysis. The remaining dirt is then put in marked piles.
