I'm going to wager that he never moved a body. Other than LE, there's a ton of eyes on him...not so sure he's dumb enough to risk that. There's a million things that can go wrong. He could get a ticket placing him near the scene, he could break down and create a paper trail via tow truck, etc.

Also, if a body was moved from that spot, there would be a decomp trail that those dogs would have also picked up on. They're particular to the spot from what I understand. Now, granted there could be a trail and we don't know, but, I doubt it.

How do you think authorities knew to search Topaz Mntn? Where could they have gotten that information? The likely answer is the search of his WA home on August 25, 2011.

Im watching an update on HLN about the case, and my goodness.. She was such a beautiful woman. What a smile she had. It just horrific to think that cadaver dogs are searching for this womans remains..
I missed the live webcast too.. my laptop froze and by the time I got back on, it was over. anything new?

I remember reading an article and Chuck Cox stated that he had an email from Susan a few months prior to her disappearance stating they were in the area of Topaz Mountain but I cannot find it I am still looking..

It is hard to be patient.

IMO it was to let JP and his father know they have something substantial even though the body was removed. They are not going to stop on this trail with just human remains being left from a body removal. They want to amp up his paranoia (bringing Mr. Cox out there really would send alarm bells going off in his head), interrogate the crap out of him and the father, blow up their inconsistencies and break one of them. MOO.

If this is correct, they will be seen being taken into custody within 24 hours.

I confess to not having read all the posts in regards to this search, but I'm not understanding the part about the the body was removed... Who removed a body..When was it removed and where was the body removed to?

This is a THEORY, not a fact.

Thanks. One thing to keep in mind is the attitude of the investigators upon arriving in Topaz Mntn.

"We are not coming out here saying that we will, but we are hoping, fairly confident, there may be something of value out here," Merritt said. "We don't know for sure, we may leave empty-handed, but it's worth our time being out here."

Why were they "fairly confident"? Why were they not fairly confident upon hearing of Mr. Cox's email and searched the area then? Seeing the date of the search of the Powell home in WA, and the date of the search of Topaz Mntn, tells me that the search of his home is what likely brought about the confidence. MOO.

Since Josh is just an innocent, grieving husband....why did he not buy a one-way ticket to see if his beautiful wife was murdered and her remains were found? Is he busy?

They have not announced that the body has been removed, it is just speculation on what is going on.

Thank you, but I'm still not quite understanding WHY some believe the body may have been removed.. Guess I need to go back and read in order to attempt to sort all this out.. Thanks for responding though...

Like what? He'll be there for a while?:waitasec:

Maybe. Or just didn't know how long he would be there. Makes sense to me.

I just saw on the news the headline "No Remains Found" but when I turned the sound on I only caught the last part which just mentioned that Mr. cox had flown in.

Someone please update!!

Just got back to civilization from vacation at the Grand Canyon's North Rim (no internet, no cell coverage) and Bryce and have now been following the latest news. My husband was so nice to read the latest tweets to me yesterday as I drove from Bryce to Las Vegas to catch our flight back to NC. Now he's all caught up in the case, too.

I'm certainly baffled by the "remains", "no remains" issue. Did the BLM anthropologist make his/her determination based on the way the ground's disturbance looked? So, they didn't actually look at bones? Wonder how that would work?

I saw a tweet yesterday that JP was flying to SLC. Any news about that or is he still in WA?

IMO

This is not the article I was looking for but it does state that friends and family state that they had been in the area before.

"This remote area is about 30 miles away from where Josh Powell, the only person of interest named in his wife’s disappearance, says he took his two young sons camping the night his wife disappeared from their West Valley City home. Police have said Josh Powell liked to gem hunt — and family and friends have confirmed that Josh and Susan Powell had visited the area on previous family excursions."

Another thing I thought was interesting is that in one of the interviews the reporter stated that JP told her he has never been to that area.

Im posting wayyyyy too much, but this is so strange!

Yesterday....."50/50 chance its susan". Nancy grace.."body found"......"human remains located"......

LE is usually so careful with comments. (Cough...Holly Bobo...cough).

Something must be brewing. Right????

Since Josh is just an innocent, grieving husband....why did he not buy a one-way ticket to see if his beautiful wife was murdered and her remains were found? Is he busy?

Also, IF he truly believed that his wife had "just run off with another guy"; then why is he NOT upset now that she "may" be found dead?

When LE announced that they were in Ely, he said that they were likely there to find Susan holed up in a motel room with SK. When he found out that they were there to hunt mines, he had to have known that they were looking for a body and not a live Susan living like a hobo in the mines. If he is truly innocent, why didn't he have a break-down and say "They are looking for remains? Oh my, Susan. What could have happened to you?"

Even if they were on the verge of a divorce, when something tragic happened, wouldn't a "husband" show some kind of grief?

Not buying the innocent husband theory!

I think the specialist was called in yesterday only to determine if the spot was a recent burial site or more likely an ancient one...I don't think he/she actually had any remains to examine...JMO
