Regarding these latest visits to the farm ...

Previous searches would have been under warrants specific to missing person TB

These recent searches (and search warrants) are probably regarding missing person LB

If LE have a warrant to search your home for stolen strawberries , they cannot search your little sister's bedroom for books she forgot to return to the library ... they should get a second warrant to do that.

Some trials are won or lost on small legal technicalities

When asked about the Waterloo Drug squad being present during the most recent search, "Sergeant Gerry Nugent said the squad is typically tapped to assist with drug investigations and to handle drug-related contamination, adding that the unit could be called in to briefly assess hazardous materials that aren’t drug-related."

“They may be called out to do a quick assessment, but we’re also going to call the [provincial] Ministry of the Environment,” he said Tuesday."

Interesting that they're calling in the Ministry of the Environment as well. MOO

Interesting. Building some sort of staging area for all the hay?

This is the mound of hay WRPS officers have removed from the barn on the Millard farm. About 2m tall #kw pic.twitter.com/8lph6q9peO

Right now they are just piling behind the barn. Perhaps they intend to board up the barn when they are done to protect against trespassing

Maybe they just need the hay out of the way.

Any theories on what they could be looking for in big piles of hay? (Cue inevitable stream of needle in haystack jokes.)

Would they mix up ashes of a body in a haystack as some kind of sick joke?

On the one hand, it seems more logical to bury or otherwise disperse ashes if possible. On the other hand, we have no idea what went on in the barn at this time, and maybe they wanted to keep everything as interior as possible.

Skeletal remains? I would imagine they would need to find all bones of a person if possible. They would need to sift through all the hay. It would also be out of respect for burial. I don't have a good feeling about this. As I posted yesterday. Was LB murdered before the arrival of the incinerator and she was hidden in the barn. Once the incinerator arrived her body was too deteriorated to move? MOO.

Maybe barn floors are too soft to walk on, hence the plywood. Or do they plan on pulling up the wood under it

Wondering and kind of hoping that LE are looking for a "secret bunker" at this point..

Hazardous waste blown into air? Perhaps incineration of leftover waste from toxic drug lab?

Its going to be big.

I think LB investigation link may mean it has turned into a drug bust investigation, not a homicide investigation.
Is Carbone with homicide?

I don't think it's going to be about drugs. I think if there was that kind of activity going on in the barn the neighbours would have noticed vehicles coming and going. I think having a drug lab would require regular visits and that wouldn't have gone unnoticed. That barn is very close to the road, and that road is a fairly busy one.

No I think the dust in the hay could be the (simple) issue...barns are naturally dusty, e.g., nephew can't even stand in the parent's modern barn without having an asthma attack. These are well paid government workers, they would have all protections possible to do their job

Plus it used to be a pig farm, so there might be precautionary measures to determine if there are some residual VOCs left over from that operation.

Poor LE guys...pitchforks for everyone!

For people to wear fresh air, testing of the individual is done by certified equipment and a print out of the successful results are provided to the EE and the Employer. The EE is given a yearly certification card.

Likely only a few are certified, the drug guys and SWAT guys usually are the main ones in our agency. Probably the same here.

So wrt a confined space and possible danger, fresh air certified members would initially clear the workspace.

However I did see lots of goldenrod............

I had no problem with the video here in CA

- a truckload of construction supplies including sheets of 1" plywood arrived
- DM "also now linked to LB's disappearance"
- taking loads of hay out on tarps (another report says they have cleared 1/2 dozen loads)

Here's a screen cap showing those poor buggers unloading rotten straw...

Wow, that's sad :( Still hoping for the best for LB, but LE seems to have a pretty reliable tip. Too bad she chose to take the wrong path and start hanging with a snake like DM, SL seems like such a kind person. JMO

And it is crazy hot here today...supposed to reach 33°

Humidex (feels like) 43 C / 109 F

Not a great day for this kind of work!

Something tells me we will be left in the dark as to what LE find. Of course unless human remains are found. That will be the extent of what they share. Protecting the case and rightfully so. MOO.
