I feel for these people out there these past few days, it is stinkin' hot outside all of a sudden. I hope they find something worthy and this isn't all futile.

I have to say I'm really curious about how intensive and how public this search is.

The last search was the one with ground-penetrating devices. Due to the extremely dismissive press event the next day, I really had the impression that day's search had been a show due to the outrage over Laura Babcock. "Look, we ARE taking this seriously, and we didn't find anything, so shut up. Also, she was an escort." (Needless to say I'm still irritated about that presser.)

But this one came out of nowhere, in the midst of relative quiet, and they are obviously allowing media to get up close and personal, or at least not trying at all to block the view from the road. And they are obviously throwing a lot of resources at it.

Random thoughts..
Wondering if they will bring the dogs on scene, but if they do, I hope the weather cools down a bit first.
Kudos to all those people working out there in the heat in a stinky old barn looking for evidence of potential evil.

It must have been a very long night for LB's family and for everyone else trying to make sense of the seemingly senseless.

LB may be missing, but perish the thought, so are many others....

That pic kind of makes me think that something may have soaked thru the floor planks from the hayloft above. IMO, wood would have an incredible memory. Has a big CSI flare to it. MOO

It would,(no pun intended) and the wood would have a long memory for either human byproducts or clandestine drug manufacturing products.

Hmmmm I wonder if LE discovered any stills or videos that were taken inside and that led them back?

Could be for protection too...they are calling for quite bad storms this afternoon in that area.

Nothing like big bold letters that scream take a picture!! Doesn't seem like this is on down low at all. I'm hoping the "forensic id" tent is just for the possible inclement weather, but if they are inside the barn, they don't really need it do they? maybe to sift through their findings. Or to shield the media from the findings.

Warm and humid mid-summer conditions are in place over the regions and thunderstorms are expected to develop early this afternoon or this evening due to an approaching cold front. There is the potential for heavy downpours with these storms giving rainfall amounts in the 50 to 80 millimetre range in an hour or two. There is also the possibility of some locations receiving repeated thunderstorms and locally higher amounts. Severe thunderstorms this afternoon or tonight may also produce damaging winds in excess of 90 km/h and hail is also a possibility.

possibly, but if that was the case, wouldn't they have taped the open end closed to better preserve whatever is there?

if it was writing, I would think the brown paper bag loosly over the end would suffice. If it were decomp fluid or blood, yes - I would think they would seal it better for transport.

BBM - I agree completely.

This search seems different, it is my belief that someone has said something, that indicated LB was at the farm, and was possibly harmed at the farm... I have said this on other boards, I believe it is MS, one of the other PB witnesses (including the girlfriend / fiance - I believe someone has told LE, even if they didn't know exact details... They may have simply said, "DM didn't allow anyone to the farm in July last summer..." and / or "When we were at the farm last Aug / Sept I saw something dripping in the hay" or "something smelled weird"

I do not necessarily believe LE have 100% confirmation there is something there, but I believe enough maybe's or mentions as I listed above, plus the fact DM was the apparent last person to speak to LB and that he is already charged with another murder, and the body of TB was found on his farm = search warrant granted for LB investigation.

I agree as well, this didn't come out of thin air or a hunch. Someone squealed like a pig IMO. Which means tomorrow will likely be held over.
