ORLANDO, Fla. -- The grandparents of Caylee Anthony, who was last seen in mid-June, spoke for the first time since their interviews with the FBI were released, saying they felt like they have been ambushed.

~snip~

George and Cindy Anthony said they did not know they were being videotaped and had no idea the FBI interviews were being released until they watched local TV news.

http://www.local6.com/news/18047637/detail.html Are they really that naive?! LOL It IS the FBI and they requested the meeting if I am not mistaken. I love the fact they were caught offguard with the release. Serves them right for attacking the credibility of the OCSO and the FBI, imo.

They didn't know they were being taped when they were sitting with the FBI in INTERROGATION rooms??? Seriously?! How could you not know that? Of course you are being taped. Good grief!

Also waiting on the death penalty decision. Since they have to notify JB, I hope some news source will pick up on it.

question
in GA interview he mentions that he went to Amscot to pay his utility bill, I believe around the time that he went to tow yard
Just found it strange and never heard that before Amsoct mentioned before besides that car being left there
anyone else ?

OK, I just finished the last FBI/CA interview tape on 7/30/08 (#6 from Fox). I think I've damaged some of my brain cells listening to CA and trying to make sense of her ramblings.

Kudos to all who have commented. In addition to what you fellow WSers have pointed out, my hinkymeter was in overdrive and smoking on a few other items. Examples:

At 15:19> on the tape . . . Re: June 30th, CA says she remembers June 30th because that's her parents anniversary. CA says she didn't know where KC was that Monday morning; that she (CA) was at work. But then, a little later, CA says she was on vacation all that week, from June 30th all that week through 4th of July weekend. Which is it, Cindy? Were you at work June 30th, or were you on vacation??

Another thing was about the supposed activities on June 24th that I didn't see anyone else mention -- and I should go and check my memory by reviewing the first two OCSO/CA interview tapes that were released, but I really can't take CA's voice any longer for today so please forgive me and correct me if I am wrong.

IIRC, on one of the first two tapes released of OCSO/CA, CA is recounting KC's tale of Zanny's car wreck, hospital stay, Zanny's mother and sister, etc., KC supposedly said KC had to return to Orlando to get Zanny's insurance papers (or some kind of paperwork). CA claimed in that early interview that it didn't make sense and CA asked KC why couldn't one of Zanny's family members get the info -- or have the info faxed to the hospital. CA said that KC told her that KC knew where the papers were in the apartment. And the date KC allegedly went from Tampa to Orlando to get Zanny's papers? June 24th!

Does anyone else remember this? I remember it because it set my own hinkymeter off that it seemed to be giving a reason for KC being in Orlando on June 24th. For gas cans story? For KC "borrowing" CA's Toyota 4Runner?

CA does not mention to the FBI this alleged trip from Tampa to Orlando for Zanny's papers?

Can someone/anyone who watches the video of CA filling out the questionnaire form about KC, please count how many times, she scratches her nose, or ear...during this part of the video. It is during the time the agents are out of the room for the most part and she is filling out the questions about kc.

TIA

She is on page 3 and has already touched her face/ear/neck 24 times (with 2 chuckles at the questions, a couple waggings of the head as she weighs how she's going to answer, 2 times pausing to read over the question several times before answering, and 3 moments of talking to herself and/or reading the question out loud. I personally loved the wiping her nose onto the back of her shirt move. She sniffled, brought her hand up to her nostrils, brought it away and reached to the back of her shirt for a moment. ew.

The FBI comes back into the room, she scratches her face one more time and the feet that have been essentially still (no scratching of the legs, no extensions of the feet, no twirling the shoes, the only movement really being to realign her position in the chair....until he walks in. Then there is a very stretched out bare leg that comes out to his side of the table, toe pointed, shoe left behind on the floor. She is suddenly animated again with an audience. Long belabored sigh.

Onto page 4!! He leaves, she puts her shoe back on, then takes it off again. Head wagging, humming (or hmmm'ing) to herself. It's really the foot's time for this page. Detectives are back.

It was pretty easy. It was easy. It was pretty easy. Hair fluff, leg extension. jibberjabber.

Does that help?

A girl I met a long time ago told me this story, so I am a little fuzzy on details. She was hooked on either heroin or cocaine, don't remember which. Here's what she said:
She was out with her boyfriend and they did a lot of drugs. He then dropped her at her house. She went in, and her mother was there in the living room. She started to talk to her mom, but then she lost it and passed out. When she woke up, she was in the hospital, and according to her mother, she had fallen to the floor and started having a massive seizure, flailing all over the place, foaming at the mouth, and then she stopped breathing and her heart stopped. Her mother called 911 and performed CPR until they got there and took over. She was very lucky to still be alive. She was 16 at the time. She was admitted into a psychiatric hospital as soon as she was released from the medical hospital.
Here's what I wonder. With this girl, her parents had her admitted, as she was a juvenile. If this same thing happened with Casey, the hospital, by law, would not be allowed to release test results to Casey's parents, as she was an adult. However, if she had OD'd, would the hospital not be required to report this to the proper authorities, and have at least some kind of psychiatric observation? Or would they just release her when she was better?
Lanie

If they felt it was accidental they would probably send her home once medically safe. In my experience when you attempt suicide and land in the hospital on a medical ward someone from Psych is sent to your room to evaluate and babysit you. Part of that evaluation would be to question family and friends that are present as to your intent and state of mind. So, while they can't release test results or whatever to the parents, if they are present, the parents would know what was going on because Psych would be questioning them.

Hope this helps.

Maybe when she didn't see a tape recorder it didn't dawn on her that there was a camera in the corner of the ceiling, despite the fact that she was facing it.

Isn't it a rule that they inform you that they will be recording any interviews/interrogations?????

Or does the FBI have different rules? I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have known about the tapes.

~~~ Respectfully snipped
They will be so locked into their convoluted statements that there will be no way for them to talk themselves out of a jail sentence.
Does anyone think that the A's will be charged? While I am astounded by their outright 'mis-truths' I was also appalled by Jackie P and was sure she would be charged. She wasn't! Do grieving (supposedly) family members get a pass in case the public sees it as picking on a poor mother?
If they claim they didn't know can the tapes be thrown out at trial?
I recall that, also. As I listened, it was interesting that he would put himself there. I guess I am not sure what an AmScot is. Cindy also states that she drives past this AmScot daily on her way to work, and in her mind, it makes no sense that Casey would abandon the car where her mother would be likely to see it.
very interesting, good find.
Thanks!:blowkiss: I know it's a stretch but so many things in this case have been so :crazy:. I just had to check this out. When I get a chance I think I will look up any names she has used. The bible is brought up a lot in CA's interview, KC reading it in jail & at home. At this point nothing would surprise me anymore but I know there is going to be more shockers relating to the KC & the A's. It could be where some names have come from & then added them in her partial truth's even if they were people she actually knew too. Anything possible when it comes to KC!
There are probably signs saying the entire building is under surveilance at a minimum. In an FBI building would you expect that you were not being monitored from the time you walked thru the door?
But she probably signed a document that specifically states the conversation will be recorded.
LOL. And haven't the police and FBI both been very clear that they think Caylee is dead? I don't hear either of them trying to lie by saying they are searching for her anymore yet the A's say..
"The Anthonys said this proves that investigators are not searching for Caylee but instead are continuing to build a case against Casey Anthony".
Yeah, and their point is what?! They already said they aren't searching for her, that Casey killed her. To me, that was clear when they arrested her for murder! Such morons the A's are!
I always believed the "vacation" idea came about because George & Cindy probably diagreed AFTER Casey/Caylee 'ran away.'
Cindy probably wanted them back ASAP because she missed Caylee & George probably said it felt like a 'vacation' with such a quiet house..... give her time to cool off & let's just enjoy the peace & quiet we've had in a long, long time.
Cindy & George did NOT want the public to know Casey left under negative conditions & they just starting using that stupid "bonding" and "vacation" excuse after the 911 call.
Thanks, Cher! I just found that text message on the 25th too. I wonder if the encounter with George with the gas cans on the 24th is what brought the decomp smell problem to the forefront of Casey's mind enough to start mentioning it, and to realize it was a growing problem she could no longer ignore.
/me thinks Caylee was killed and stored in the car for 2.6 days, then started to smell.
Casey then wrapped the body in plastic of some sort, leaving the body in the trunk.
Then the 24th's close call happened with George.
After that incident, Casey moves the body and decomp fluids leaked out.
This leakage forced her to abandon the car on the night of the 26th, near a dumpster.
Ok, in part 3 of Cindy's FBI tape at 2:56 we have her discussing a change of addy card which was sent to the Hopespring address in AH's name. Now here is where we get a ton of insight into how Cindy's thought processes work. After Amy relays the story which Casey told Amy about how the A's were having problems and Cindy and George were giving the house to Casey, Cindy's mind moves right over the fact that Casey lied through her straight white teeth (even after the agent brings that up) and jumps to how odd it is that Amy is saying this. She then goes onto use this as a jumping stone to the 'generic Zanny nanny theory' tying it into Amy and Ricardo's apartment while using the pic (which casey said was taken at Zanny's) as proof. The agent again asks her if she quesitoned Casey about telling Amy the house would be hers to which Cindy responds "No, I didn't think it was relelvant at the time" or something similiar.
Not one time does Cindy stop herself and say, Casey clearly concocted a whole script and followed it. Not once does she say that Casey is at fault for this. Instead she goes on and on about 'codes' Casey gave her and her attempt at deciphering Casey's story. She takes everything Casey tells her at face value with zero qualifications required. It's a very sad thing to realize your daughter has been lying to you in such a magnificent manner, but it's even sadder when in the face of blaring truth, you still choose to worship the devil.
