''A woman has been hospitalized after she was struck by a train in lower Manhattan on Saturday morning, according to the New York City Police Department.
The NYPD confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE that officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:25 a.m. of a female on the tracks at the Fulton Street subway station in lower Manhattan.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a "conscious" and "responsive" 29-year-old woman who had been "struck by a southbound No. 3 train," per the NYPD. An initial investigation determined that she had been "pushed onto the tracks."

  • ''A 29-year-old lost both her feet on the New York City subway after an argument with her partner ended with her being allegedly thrown into the path of the train
  • Emergency crews arrive and quickly rushed the woman to Bellevue Hospital where she is in a critical condition
  • A description issued for the suspect describes him as a Latino male wearing a blue shirt and jeans as well as a dark colored jacket''
''This latest incident comes just days after New York City Mayor Eric Adams said he would be bringing back bag checks for subway riders after a spike in crime.

Recent criminal activity on the trains included a cellist who was bludgeoned over the head by a stranger and a shooting that killed one and injured five others.''

''The mayor said he will be bringing back methods that have been previously used in times of great suspicion.

'We are reinstituting bag checks. There are several things we are reinstituting in the system,' Adams added, with the NYPD reportedly searching bags for weapons such as knives, box cutters, clubs and guns.''

The Nat'l Guard didn't arrive in time to help this lady, either. Sad.

I hope the suspect is charged with attempted murder. This is one of the cruelest things someone could do.

''The man suspected of pushing his 29-year-old girlfriend onto Manhattan subway tracks in front of an oncoming train that resulted in her losing both of her feet has been arrested.

Police said Christian Valdez was arrested late Saturday, roughly 10 hours after he fled the Fulton Street station where he allegedly shoved the woman as a 3 train approached the platform.''

'Valdez who fled the scene was arrested later that evening at about 9:35 p.m. at the corner of Jay and Willoughby streets in Brooklyn, when he went to meet a parole officer but was instead met by NYPD. He was charged with attempted murder and felony assault.'

He has 4 previous assault arrests. One was for stabbing a woman with a glass bottle and then he stabbed her 3 year old daughter in the arm with a knife.
