True. Even some born post-1990.BBM. And not all of it from men.

I will be very surprised to find it a premeditated murder, particularly to the extent you are suggesting. I guess we will find out soon enough.I don't think the "accused" is dumb I think he has a very smart long-term plan... for commenting on her post after she was missing it made it quite obvious he did or knew the something about the murder it was very suspicious which I think he was wanting due to the high interest, in this case, I believe he knew the number of people (NZ & UK) searching her name once she was found dead/missing they would scrape every detail for example suspicious comments... they would see that comment "Beautiful, very radiant with a reverse smiley face" (which was posted the day after she was missing) and think that's got to be the killer or a very suspicious guy and therefore share the comment with his name in it causing it to somewhat spread. I also believe he killed Grace because she was from the UK which has been known in the past for the sewer media who tend to "accidentally" leak names however I think he was aware that the law for name suppression didn't apply to the UK which will help him as people from NZ will read those articles from the UK media and will spread the accused name via social media/word of mouth.... I think he took a plea for name/identity suppression if he admitted he was guilty however I think he knew that people would see his comment and couldn't help themselves from spreading the word of the "accused" therefore he could either get a light sentence or walk (unlikely). I know he is from Australia which the minimum sentence is 20 years, however, in NZ it is 10 years I also believe he is a murder tourist who has thought about the long-term effect and perhaps lawsuits (money) he can gain out of having an unfair trial and name suppression breaches! You may think he is dumb but watch he could have a lot going his way....
What rubbish. He is not 'from' Australia. He lived in Australia with his NZ mum. He is a New Zealander.I don't think the "accused" is dumb I think he has a very smart long-term plan... for commenting on her post after she was missing it made it quite obvious he did or knew the something about the murder it was very suspicious which I think he was wanting due to the high interest, in this case, I believe he knew the number of people (NZ & UK) searching her name once she was found dead/missing they would scrape every detail for example suspicious comments... they would see that comment "Beautiful, very radiant with a reverse smiley face" (which was posted the day after she was missing) and think that's got to be the killer or a very suspicious guy and therefore share the comment with his name in it causing it to somewhat spread. The photo appears to have been taken from the lookout platform on the sky tower. But earlier in the year, so wouldn't be Grace in pic......but yes....feet
The car was returned at around lunchtime Monday, after having been taken out for a 24 period from around lunchtime on Sunday.
I wonder if there is CCTV showing the car leaving the CityLife carpark (or traveling up/down Queen Street, where there are lots of CCTV cameras) on Monday ...
The CityLife has two entrances - one on Queen Street (a very busy street with lots of shops [walkthrough access only]), and one down a laneway that feeds on/off to Queen Street [walk and drive through access].
*ETA ... if he used the carpark, he would have opted for valet parking ... there's a receipt right there of his movements.
Maybe he booked the car for 24 hours from Sunday but didn't actually collect it until Monday.
From Grace Millane: Police appeal for information on red Toyota Corolla: "Anyone who saw the vehicle in West Auckland between 6am and 9:30am on Monday 3 December is urged to contact ..." I think he tried to do the most he could under the cover of darkness on the Sunday night, before heading out first thing on the Monday to dispose of her body. It's Summer here, so daylight at 6am. The area where she was found is a mix of houses with long driveways and semi-rural lots, so there wouldn't be a lot happening at that time of the day ... I would've expected someone to come forward saying they'd seen him on their commute into the city though ...
Justice Minister Andrew Little urges British media to ensure justice for Grace Millane
"Justice Minister Andrew Little has hit out at the British media for revealing suppressed details from the Grace Millane murder case.
"If they want justice for Millane they should refrain from publishing information, he said.
"The defence would be looking for every opportunity to say a trial right might be compromised and that was why suppression needed to be abided by, he said."
How have the people who've come forward with stories about his past found out who the accused is?
The name must be circulating in NZ or are people searching overseas webpages to find out?
Is there a lot of CCTV in NZ? Do many people have dashcams?
A lot of information the police already have may have come from there and they are filling in the gaps
That should be a help in tracking the car's movements for at least part of the time it was rentedIn the city there’s lots of CCTV but dash cams aren’t that prevalent here.
From Facebook and overseas sites.
UK press should clean up their act. We wouldn't like it if it was one of our courts being disrespected. Imagine one of our VIPs getting a gag order and then having his name spread around the world. There would be an outcry. Other countries justice systems should be respected.

Regarding the gag order, I'm imagining that it is ultimately in Grace's interest for his name to be suppressed, if the law in NZ is similar to other countries. Too much pre-trial 'furore' and his lawyers could argue that it's impossible for him to receive a fair trial. So yes, people in NZ can look it up online, but they won't passively 'receive' the name as part of what is presumably intense media coverage. His name won't be repeated a thousand times a day on TV/radio. Even if it's just a technicality, the judge can now reasonably say that he's had every chance for a fair trial. I know it seems like it's doing him a favour, but I'm sure it's also protecting the potential for him to be convicted if he is indeed guilty. And also protecting the same possibility if he is innocent.
This happens all the time. There is a story circulating this morning about an Irish Sports Star accused of rape. It took me less than 30 seconds to find his identity. Name suppression and injunctions just don't work in this day and age, it's a pointless exercise.

That's an interesting point, personally my automatic assumption on hearing of a gag order is that it's a waste of paper and I'll find out the information online without too much trouble. tbh I think supression of information is almost futile.
As someone posted earlier in the thread valuable evidence could be lost if the people of Auckland aren't aware of who the suspect it
