Posters on the FB support page ask locals be cautious when posting on social media. LE does not want information beyond what they have officially released to be posted.

One poster urges caution because an abductor/perpetrator could be monitoring social media.

Another poster states that reporters are looking for locals to interview. She asks those who know AH or her family to refrain from providing details about Abigail, her habits, lifestyle, and family to the media because police do not want those details released.

The police obviously know way, WAY more than they are releasing to the media.

Does anyone know if someone has control over Abigail's Facebook account? I noticed that 3 hrs ago, someone had been accepting friend request on her page. This seems odd!

She could have sent that person a friend request prior to disappearing. That person may be only now getting around to approving the friend request- perhaps after learning that she's missing.

This happens quite a lot if you look at Websleuth cases - usually it's because someone that was sent a friend request by the missing person has now accepted it. However I would expect that with the LE involved in this case, they will have access to her account.

In that article Fish & Game say the cell was in a " band" that they were then searching .

Any tech savvy sleuths know what thats about ?

Cell phones ping on towers they are close to, my guess would be they can tell how strong the ping was, in which direction, and how far away - leading to a definable "band" of searchable area.

But I could be totally wrong.

Her house is closer to the mountain than to her school. If she went that direction she would have passed through some seedy areas of town . JMHO .

EDIT: The end of Grove St. is notorious for police activity at all hours.

I just punched in her addy and the distance to cranmore resort. Hadn't thought to add in the distance to the tower. Your measurement is most likely more correct.

Any kind of activity- even simply powering a cell phone on will cause a ping. It's my understanding that incoming calls or texts would cause a ping.

The link says, "the call was made..." though, so that leads me to believe she made an outgoing call, as opposed to receiving an incoming call.
