IMO, if this bit about letter being handwritten was new info that one source had obtained, they would say so...media always wants credit for being first.

:welcome: MCW!! Love to hear your thoughts on Abby's case.

Thanks MamaJoJo! :seeya:

I live in Massachusetts, and spend a lot of time up in New Hampshire. I love it up there! The place I see the most Missing signs for Abby is actually at the state liquor stores. I don't know if there is any significance in that, but I thought I would point out my observations.

In terms of the "handwritten" letter comment, I wonder if it somehow slipped out in talks with the media? I guess LE may be asked this question in the coming days and they will clear it up (one way or another). IMO, the letter was handwritten. I have always thought that.

I also feel that she is alive somewhere. Not entirely sure if it is by her own doing or not... I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I feel like if she ran away, there is a very real reason why. I can't discuss my thoughts on here because it is purely speculative, but I have seen other people with similar ideas. They've been deleted!

I, like everyone else here, wish we could know the contents of the letter because it would really shed some light on this case. I understand why LE keeps things close to the chest, but I really believe some more information could help the public out. It's been 100 days. It's time to give us some more information to be on the lookout!

Abbys mother is a prime and shining example of how parents of missing children should act, IMO

She looks very exhausted and that must have been so hard to do. Why hasn't there also been a tape of the mom sending a message out to the person who abducted Abby?

I wonder that too.....

We did a huge flier push for thanksgiving weekend travelers. We covered the toll booths, liquor stores, shopping centers. Focused on areas where there would be alot of traffic, to get her picture seen. No significance in liquor stores, other than they are busier during heavy traffic weekends.

Thanks for the clarification! It's a perfect place to put them. I believe I saw them up there the weekend before Christmas. They are quite busy, especially up there. My boyfriend lives about 20 minutes from the border and we travel up there quite often. Tax free and all :-)

I saw this online. Read the comments. Wondered about the Red Stone Quarry comment.

I remember reading a newspaper article soon after she disappeared that said search teams had looked around the quarry and the high school, but I don't have a link to an article. The quarry is well-known in the area, and there are hiking/biking trails around it, so I'm not surprised that it was among the first places LE would have looked.

That whole area was searched extensively by grid search teams.

You know, I can understand the quietness and keeping things close to the vest in the beginning, but by gosh Abby has been gone way too long! LE needs to do another press conference and give some information! ABBY NEEDS TO COME HOME! They have NOTHING to indicate she is still alive, or that she isn't. With people thinking she ran away, they are going to stop looking for her. I don't think I'll ever truly understand not releasing more information. I can't see where it would hurt. LE doesn't think a crime was committed so why not?!?!

I totally agree with you 2Hope4, this case has gotten a lot of press, a lot more then many I have seen but yet the FBI and LE have revealed nothing to the public. They offered a reward of 20,000 dollars. The more I think about it the more I feel that if someone knew something they would come forward just because of the reward. They asked the public to help by sharing her picture on FB and other places but nothing has produced any leads to getting Abby back. If they want help they need to start talking so people can help, it is kind of difficult helping without knowing where to even begin looking??? For instance the place where the letter came from should be revealed at this point since there has been no contact. I have no idea what is going on and hate to say this but I am wondering if she is even still alive? I pray that she is but all this silence is making me wonder, there has been nothing to indicate she is and I find it very strange that she has not been in contact with any of her friends or family if she was a runaway. Doesn't make sense and I feel people that want to help have kind of given up because they don't know where to look or what to do. I pray everyday for her to return home but IMO it has been way too long. I have not been on awhile because I am going through a very difficult time, my baby sister is fighting for her life in the hospital on a ventilator she has the flu, pneumonia and Afib and I just pray she gets through this. I would like to ask everyone for some prayers for her as well.

LE almost always waits far too long to release info that could be helpful, if only the public knew. IMO a great failing by most LE, in handling missing person cases. They worry about the case, rather than finding the victim first.

Well if I was her mother than I would start talking because this is going nowhere, it has already been over 100 days. That is too long for a 15 year old girl to be gone from home even if she did runaway. I say enough of the silence and start talking if they want people to help. This fb thing sharing her picture is doing nothing obviously because they should have found her by now with as many users that are on FB. In addition, all of the posters posted everywhere. Doesn't make sense at all!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister, Jade. I will hold you and her and your entire family in my prayers.

As for Abby, I think we are all a bit frustrated. But, being on the outside (posting on a forum) and sensing that nothing is being done, doesn't necessarily mean that all is dormant in Abby's case. Well, at least I tell myself that because the alternative is beyond my comprehension. I hope that LE knows something we don't know and that they are actively pursuing a resolution to what happened to Abby. Her thread here at WS is now quiet and, as I see it, will remain so until LE either releases some information or Abby miraculously walks through ZH's door. It is so disheartening, IMO, to check the thread and be the only member currently viewing or posting.

Where are you Abby? Find your way home, precious girl, we're waiting for you.

I agree, LE needs to give out more info to keep this case warm. Unfortunately, they won't, and folks are losing interest now, thinking she's a runaway and that without any new info, there's no way to help find her.

I'm so sorry about your sister, she is in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs to you, hang in there.

Yes time to "go roque"
Watched one of the mystery shows where the family hired a PI and posted billboards for their missing daughter when LE activity slowed.
As a parent in in this position it would be time to take matters in my own hands.
IMO LE doesn't have a whole lot to go on, maybe some small info not public, but not where she is/ how/who so LE doesn't have alot to reveal anyway IMO.
A mark of insanity to repeat the same failure over and over, Time for a new direction.
