JMO, but I do believe there is more to this than we are hearing. As time goes on and I see some of what's going on I truly believe LE is certain AH is alive. I also believe she didn't intend to leave home that day but something happened she didn't expect. LE keeps repeating that AH is only 15 and almost coming right out and saying someone is helping her stay away from home, but that she isn't a runaway so the conclusion is she's with someone who hasn't hurt her but someone who believes they are helping her or keeping her safe in some way. It may be a situation where AH isn't able to leave of her own accord or doesn't know what to do if she did leave, i.e. she has no money so how would she get home, etc. IMO it's why Mom is suggesting solutions like calling and asking for a ride and that people will pick her up. It's also my opinion that they are sure AH can see the messages her Mom is sending, so she has access to the internet. That's a good sign in my opinion because it means whoever is holding her doesn't wish to harm her. What struck me was the letter one of her friends posted on the BAH page and they said something about AH looking sad recently. I wonder if someone else noticed that and thought they could "save" her. I keep hoping whoever is keeping her will realize that even if her family situation is causing her some distress, a child needs their parents and their family no matter how flawed they appear to others.

Keep up the good work, Zenya. You're doing a great job. Stay strong, and please know that there are many of us out here who know how much you love Abby, we care about Abby (and you!) very much, and we're going to keep on helping by spreading Abby's picture as far and wide as we can! Big hugs to you and Sarah.

For those who want to help Abby, here are some links to posters and information about her that you can share:

This board has really slowed down very little people posting. Maybe that is due to the lack of information pertaining to this case, it seems that other LE agencies reveal more than this case? Several weeks ago there was a post from some agency on FB how their agency specializes in finding missing children and they seem to have percentage rate of finding children who are missing? I asked early on if this was considered and never really got a reply other than the information was passed onto ZH? Also I know this might sound crazy but have they considered a psychic because there are cases where they have been used? In addition, I saw Mark Klaas, he was on the news the other night in regards to the young autistic boy they found yesterday in the water. He seems to have a lot of resources and does help in these cases. Has anyone reached out to him? Just curious and have the LE had any significant leads in this case? So many unanswered questions and no information released to the public it is just too quiet!! I pray Abby is safe and she returns home soon.

I agree things have quieted down.. I know it's not for lack of caring.. I have been a member here since 2007 and have read here much longer.. Too many people disappear and are never found.. Some LE have been very quiet and others have put everything out for the public to see.. What works better? I don't know.. Many don't like outside help and others welcome it.. I just wish in this case that they would give out more info so the public will look harder.. Where was the letter mailed from?.. What are her dreams that mom talks about?.. Did she want to be a model, dancer, actress, etc.? Those are the kind of dreams that sex traffickers lure innocent kids away with.. Was she meeting someone for a cleaning job?.. What made her walk home that day? Who was the older boy that we heard about in the beginning that she was talking with?

I like everyone else here have so many questions but it seem LE is not about to give out any clues unless they are forced to.. My heart goes out to her family.. I don't know how her mother is still standing..

If she is being held against her will then why no pleas from the mother, father, sister for whoever has her to let her go? Why only pleas for her to come home? Sounds more like they think she has a choice.

I liked a theory someone posted on here earlier that it's to put the supposed kidnapper at ease. That if he just returns her safely, it will be regarded as a runaway, no followup needed.. as opposed to threatening him with the full force of law if he doesn't comply.

Well at this point I would be threatening whoever has her and I would do everything in my power to find her and make sure this person is convicted. That is putting the power in his hands and to me that isn't working so good right now.

It's all so confusing to me. Is there a cat and mouse game being played by LE? I hope we find out, and if so, I certainly hope the game worked. C'mon Abby, find your way home.

ETA: off topic...Jade, how is your sister doing?

She is making a bit of progress her lungs are improving but she is still on the vent. They shut the vent off for awhile today to see how she would do and she did ok for awhile but her blood gasses still need to improve so we are taking it one day at a time. They sedated her and she is back on the vent but hoping in the next few days she will be able to come off the ventilator. It is pretty scary for sure what she has gone through. Everyone get your flu shots if you have not had one, they have 3 other people on ventilators that had the flu. Especially is you have a weak immune system. Thank you for asking about my sister I really appreciate it.

Does the cat want the mouse? _ _ S
Does the mouse ever come to the cat? S _ _ _ _ _ M _ _
If the mouse comes to the cat, who was sleeping? N _ O _ _
If the cat chases the mouse will the mouse run away? A _ _ _ Y _
If the mouse teases the cat and that cat lies down - - -
- - does the mouse then get the cat? L _ _ !

That's why cat and mouse takes so long.

Fun for the cat - not fun for the mouse .

:floorlaugh:

Prayers for Jade and your sister :please:

Put a captor at ease? To what end? That is ridiculous nonsense. What can possibly be gained by putting a captor at ease? He/she is lulled into peacefulness, giving them no reason whatsoever to change their situation by returning her to her family.

I agree with you. If they knew where Abby was, they would barge in. If they don't, then they don't know what her life is like right now. Maybe she's being physically or mentally abused, not being able to leave, etc. But they want to make the abductor ~comfortable. I can't imagine the uproar if that turned out to be true. And what incentive does the kidnapper have to return her? He probably loves the power he has over her.

Just checking in to see if there has been any news about Abby. Sad to hear that there are no new developments, that I can see. :(
I have such a bad feeling about this case, a sick pit in my stomach...

In the case in Fl., Michelle Parker, LE suspected she was being held by her ex, and they had a SWAT team there barging in right away,,even though there were kids in the house. And she was 25. I have no doubt with a missing minor, LE would not be playing mind games with an abductor.

I should've prefaced that with the fact that in this scenario, the captor would already be on the verge of doing something, whether from mounting pressure or just a change of heart. If someone is utterly unaffected by the community and family response, then naturally this "tactic" wouldn't achieve much of anything. I agree that there would be outrage if it came out that LE was doing this. The only excusable scenario would be if they had unreleased knowledge regarding the captor's identity and psychological state, whether from the letter or something else the investigation has revealed. A location would obviously preclude any sort of games or wording tweaks.

It's idealistic in many, many ways.
