I think we're all reminded of Maura Murray and wonder if there were others.
Is there a way we could have a page for Abby to give her well wishes? I don't know if that's done on this site, but it would be so helpful for her to read our well wishes and I think cathartic for all of us too.

I love and second this motion!

I wonder if he released her knowing that releasing a kidnapping victim unharmed and in good condition drops this to a class B felony.

Is it possible that LE released an incorrect description to throw off the offender? Or misleading now that they aren't looking for any more suspects? The description Abby gave and LE not looking for anyone else just doesn't mesh with me.

^^^this. If they knew who he was from Abby's information, then they knew he was an off-the-wall anti-gvmt with severe mental health issues, they knew the likelihood of LE personnel and innocent bystanders getting shot to hell in a standoff was very real. Release a decoy sketch, play it up, and do a walk-up "arrest without incident." All my conjecture, of course. So far, I'm very impressed with LE.

As much hostility and hatred as I hold for this creep, I do have to appreciate that she is home, in relatively good health. I am sure she has years of nightmares ahead of her, but she is alive. And her family can count that as a huge blessing. :star:

I was thinking he released her because her health was deteriorating. He isn't a killer, just wanted to have his own personal girl in a shed. If that is the case, he would release her so that she would not die. JMO.

Abby, we are so very thankful that you are home!!! Your story riveted the world as we all prayed for your return. I sent fliers to family across the US as well as in the UK. My child hung your posters in Scotland! They all laughed and hooted when you returned home. Zenya aka Momma Bear, you handled this with dignity and strength and I knew daughter would be fine because you gave her the best gift of all, your strength. Your happy ending is a wonderful gift to all of us. Okay, back to happy dancing!!!!

Maybe she promised this 🤬🤬🤬 she won't tell police anything maybe that is why the composite was off. Imo
He probably started to trust her and let her stay inside the trailer, who knows. That child Sean H was allowed out after awhile.

Omg this is terrible.

I wanted to bring the comparison sketch-to-suspect picture that steelhead posted in the last thread over to this thread.

IMO, I believe that this is a sketch of this suspect based on the descriptions that were provided to the artist.

I think the sketch artists interpretations of Abby's descriptions weren't accurate to represent what he actually looks like.

If you look at the description basics and what language would have been used to describe the features, I think the artist did the best of their ability.

  • Rectangular face
  • rounded chin
  • rounded jaw line
  • Heavy eyebrows in center, taper to sparce
  • arched upper lips
  • indent in upper lip
  • straight lower lip
  • nose is rounded at the end but not pointy
  • nose is wide at the bottom, nostrils tilt up
  • ears stick out a little (sketch artist went way overboard here)
  • very short hair all over
  • rounded edges of hairline

Kirby Sketch.jpg

If Abby's primary contact with this suspect has been from within that shed, she could have been usually looking at him in the dark or with dim lighting. Even in this mugshot of him his eyes don't jump out at you as being blue. They look very dark.

ETA: It was Steleheart :blushing:

She specifically used the word "released". However, did she actually mean NK released her, or someone else, who doesn't even live there, released her (I'm sort of hung up on the short, dark skinned guy she told LE about)? Or, did NK actually release her thinking she'd never tell where she was? Is he nuts? Well, I think we can safely assume mentally well-balanced people don't go around kidnapping people and locking them in a shipping container so, yes, I believe he is.

SPECULATION!

If he released her, I would imagine he was the selector of the clothing she was released in. I suspect he released her near the area where he let her go. This means IMO sending her home with no actual evidence or example of what she wore while there. This to me indicates possible causing of wearing nothing or of wearing something other than her own clothing.

This suggests to me that he needs to feel like a good guy even though he is not. He did not kill her. When he wanted her gone or thought she neede to go he did not kill her. IMO he could have. He did not. That means something. JMO

So we don't know who actually released her. Was it the friend/ neighbor who said he kept her in that shed? Did his mother show up and discover her? Do we KNOW that the sketch led to his arrest or did someone who knew report him.

Patiently waiting for the presser.

Abby, you sweet, strong, courageous young woman...I'm so very glad you are home.

Are they generally soundproofed or is that just inherent quality due to the way they are usually constructed?

Depends on what it's made of and what it's used for. With the trailer park and the nearby neighbors, it would not be uncommon for a backyard shed to be soundproofed if it was used for something noisy at odd hours of the night. Power equipment, musical instruments, etc. I've seen some comments that he used it as an indoor firing range.

It would also not be at all uncommon for a shed to be insulated, with heat and a/c.

If it was him that released her, I wonder if he did so because her health was failing (based on MSM reports) and figured she wouldn't know where she was, what he looked like, etc.?

MOO This man either had strong opinions/ideas or badly needed validation and attention or both.

ETA and if you need attention, why are you holding captive a young girl half the state is on the lookout for?

I did some work on one of those storage units...hotter than hades in the summer. Cannot imagine being in one in either summer or winter, and I had the doors open for ventilation! It wouldn't take much to sound proof one I doubt. As her mother repeatedly said during the months leading up to this, she is a strong girl. If this is truly what her ordeal was, and I'm referring only to the environment, not whatever else took place, then I bow my head in total respect for the inner strength she has.

Given the nature of the LTTE's he wrote to the local newspaper, you might want to check for his online presence at places like Free Republic, Red State, Breitbart, etc. I dont frequent those kinds of sites, but there are probably more like them.

After reading his letters and hearing the latest details, I get the impression of an authoritarian misogynistic (woman hating) type of personality. He seems like the type of male who feels threatened by women because they arouse him. Typical personality profile for rapists and sexual predators.

In fact, this guy seems very out of touch, so obsessed with radical Christianity that he may have been willing to let her go, simply because he didn't think his treatment of her was wrong. He probably sees himself as a martyr now.

Strange, barbaric and sick attitudes, but sadly not that unusual.

I can't imagine LE purposely releasing false info to the public then asking for the public's help based on that fake info. It just doesn't make sense that they'd go that far if they actually knew (or had a good idea) who they were really looking for. It seems more likely they'd just not release anything. It doesn't mesh with me either, but I don't think the police would do that.

I don't think they would either. I think over the last few days Abby was able to give more clear details.

The backyard shed/barn/bunker/root cellar/etc isn't suspicious by itself. Just about every house in New Hampshire has at least one.

I'm not offended, carbuff, but I don't agree with the characterization. I live in New Hampshire and my experience is different.

Small sheds are common in houses without garages, although we don't have either. Old farmhouses may have root cellars,

I only know of one house that has a shipping container, well actually it is the trailer from a tractor trailer. One neighbor has had a dumpster in his yard for the 20 years we've lived here. We're New Englanders so we mind of our own business and don't say anything to him. But we do notice it because it's unusual.

Kibby bought the mobile home new in 2009. It's 1000+ square foot and has a shed. So, yes, I do think it would be notable to neighbors, especially in a setting of mobile homes, that this guy had a red shipping container against the back of his mobile home.
