IMO it would be just like a perp to insist that a victim took off of their own accord

Yep. I think it's interesting that the poster dropped that little bomb, but hasn't responded to the follow up question to him posed by the newspaper.

..... interesting

I wonder what would have made that person ask that question......

There was a poster on here last night who was suggesting AH was on her way to CA. I asked for some reasoning behind the statement and they've not responded either. Hmmm..

ETA - I am in no way suggesting that StarryNight has anything to do with AH's disappearance!

Just checked in here again for the first time today and have been reading all the new comments. Feel dejected that there is still no positive news of any kind and that there is precious little if any news offered by the media as far as I can see.
Was interested to read about the presumed search effort by as private organisation apparently planned for Friday and over the weekend.
Can anyone confirm this or is it just a rumour?
Thanks!

Could FBI be involved because they believe the internet has been involved (social media connection)?

honestly, sometimes people don't read every post on the thread and might miss a question posed to them. i know this has happened to me before. it could be just someone throwing out a theory which is their right to do whether or not others agree with it as long as it doesn't violate TOS.

I think that was Starry Night. She's been a member here for a long time. Maybe she will post again and give us her rationale for that comment.

that's true, we have all shared our theories with each other

Yes, very true. I was really only bring it up in context of someone interjecting an opinion and then not responding when that opinion is questioned. I'm sure it's as innocent as it not being read.

Hi guys still following just not posting as much. Anyway, This rumor from FB is most likely just a rumor. However, it answers a lot of our questions. Why did mom call so soon after arriving home? Why in the press conferences were they addressing Abby directly? What does mom's boyfriends comment of we didn't see this coming really mean?

Of course it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered like why so much LE involvement so quickly, why are the searches staying so close to home, and with no license how did she get the heck out of dodge?

I don't know what to think but when I saw that comment I could definitely see some of the puzzle pieces coming together but they're not all fitting quite yet.

The immediate response from LE and the scope of agencies brought in is unlike anything I've ever heard of in a case where the person has previously run away. I don't think LE thinks or believes that Abby has run away.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Usually if a missing teen has previously run away, that's the first conclusion LE will jump to the second time around. I highly doubt they'd have called in the FBI and everyone else- immediately- if they really just thought she'd run away. If they thought she'd run to a specific boy or run with a specific boy, I believe they'd have issued a BOLO for both the guy and Abigail.

I'm certainly in no position to say for sure this report isn't true, I'm just saying if it is true, LE definitely deviated from the norm in how they're handling it. I'd be curious to know why.

yea, i swear my opinion changes daily between abduction by someone she knew (even peripherally) or a complete stranger. i do not buy the run away theory for a multitude of reasons which have already been discussed by others so i won't repeat them. even if by some slim chance she was in Tennessee at some point, we don't know the circumstances as to why and how/who that person who asked the LE got their alleged info from. I agree with all those who don't think Abby is a runaway. P.S-based on your knowledge of the case and the area, i think you and other locals prob would have been aware of this "rumor" if it had any "legs" to it so to speak.

wow...i literally just changed my opinion on the LE's response to this runaway question in about 10 minutes thanks to reading other peoples logical posts and thinking about them..thats the good thing about this forum, it keeps us all thinking and doing what we can to show support to bring Abby home.. long day I think I need to go to bed!

Maybe the LE officer contacted said he/she could neither confirm nor deny it because that person simply didn't know the answer one way or the other (and therefore could neither confirm nor deny it). I doubt that every single officer involved with the case has all the facts/evidence at their disposal at any given moment.

The person who asked the question about her running away to Tennessee may not have all the facts. We don't even know if she really did run away previously. LE probably added that question to their pile of "things to investigate" and will look into it asap. It may turn out to be helpful information, and it may not. It sounds like whether it happened or not, LE isn't going to discuss it because of Abby being a juvenile.

thank you for talking me off the ledge of actually believing this report. your post makes 100% sense to me. i appreciate it :)

If a certain MSM has a F*** Book account can that be discussed ?

If a news site has a FB it can be discussed. However, like others, comments from the regular joe who reads the site cannot. Sorry.

On the whole I tend to pretty much agree with your views here.
Having done some sleuthing of some public information available on the web,
I can however say that Abby may well have at least some peripheral family connection to TN, so this purported rumour being discussed here might perhaps not be totally unfounded altogether.
Being a media guy I can tell you that there is a surprising amount of information to be found on the web about most people if you only know where to look and how to tie the facts together. And, yes, there is a tenous link between Abby and TN.
Hope I haven't inadvertenly broken any house rules here by stating this.
If so, I wholeheartedly apologise.

reposting the link and resnipping:

http://www.conwaydailysun.com/index...662-fbi-please-share-what-you-know-about-abby

A reporter asked Ramsey about Hernandez's state of mind the day she disappeared.
"We don't necessarily know what her state of mind was when she walked out of school that day," Ramsey replied.
The FBI does, however, have a picture of what was going on with her in the months prior to her disappearance.
"We can't allow that to simply drive our pursuits now," said Ramsey, adding Abigail's background only part of the investigation."

ok...so what's the other part?
