Well without giving any names does anybody happen to know any stories of runaways either in the news or in your community or family that you would care to share about what happened...how long...who with...just to give us something to go on.

I remember one case that was in the news where a young girl ran away and was found in some fellows apartment attic. It was a few years back and I don't remember all the details. I think she was missing perhaps a week.

So I am guessing the searchers have found nothing? It's quiet as can be.

Kind of like the calm before the storm. I keep thinking something is coming down the pike. Something big. I have had that feeling all day long.

I really hope you are right..... something has got to give!!!

This site is interesting- heartbreaking, in fact. I don't believe Abby's a runaway, but these stories are worth reading, even if they have nothing in common with may have happened to Abigail.

I hope she's a runaway. Lots of them are gone for months and months then come home and sometimes take off again. At least she would be alive.

If we could get some %$^@#%@* information, we might be able to make an educated guess. If I lived in that area, well you figure it out. I'd... do something to satisfy my curiosity.

Also, if we pour through previous cases of abductions and compare them with broad-daylight versus night time, almost 98% of the ones done in daylight are done by someone the victim knows or someone local to the area with whom the victim has had some interactions.

This makes me think shades of Ariel Castro. *shudder*

The Brianna Stewart case here on WS is a strange one that just happened, honeybun. She's the daughter of the lady that fired a warning shot in the air to scare off some kids that were punching and harassing her. The mom sent her to Grandma's house for safe-keeping that night, and Brianna disappeared from her house. Poof, vanished. I have to tell you, I thought the worst about this one. But over a week later it is announced she is located, safe!

I'm not understanding what Ramsey is attempting to say. Is he saying he thinks she is a runaway? That he thought she was but now doesn't? That he never thought she was? I'm not quite sure what he feels was taken out of context and how it was taken out of context.

IM Tate could be saying that they know Abigail doesn't eat the candy that was opened, maybe someone else was there

outlines the quotes from the vigil; some are minors. snipping only zenya's statement:

http://nhpr.org/post/lighting-way-abigail-hernandez

Until now, Abigail's mother, Zenya Hernandez, has shied away from reporters except to issue pre-written statements. English is her second language and she's been advised not to talk to the press. But she feels so strongly, like Paul Kirsch, that someone has valuable information about her daughter that she agreed to speak.

"We've been up and down sometimes we've been very down and sometimes we're very hopeful and very optimistic. A week ago actually I was just devastated. Like devastated. But we are very hopeful and as much as there is technology and everything else we really rely on individuals and people and what they see. And there's somebody who either saw something that they just don't think it's important and so that's why they're not reporting it. Or maybe somebody saw something and they're afraid. But I do want to say that I don't believe Abby left voluntarily. I do not."

Well the beginning of that might explain why we have had only prepared statements from the family....

eh, maybe...but i doubt they're scripting and restricting her public speaking because of a foreign accent. kwim?

Here's a link to the most recent Union Leader article about Mission for the Missing's search for Abby over the weekend. The article mentions where they searched and describes items that her mother told them she likely had with her when she disappeared:

http://www.unionleader.com/article/20131028/NEWS07/131029286/0/SEARCH

"They were searching for personal items that her mother said she likely had with her when she disappeared: an oversized camouflage-colored book bag, a cream-colored purse, and a silver-colored necklace with a heart-shaped pendant that has a blue stone in it.

They searched places that might not have been covered by other law enforcement agencies looking for the teen last seen Oct. 9 — Echo Lake State Park, the Kancamagus Highway, West Side Road, and areas around the Saco River."

I don't think so either!
I think they have information and evidence and do not want it let out!

I didn't mean it like that, I just meant that in the stress of everything that it would be easier, better, to read from a prepared statement if English is her second language.

I still believe LE has nada...

I think LE knows way more than they are letting on. They need to find her to charge the person!

She could have been allergic to peanuts, and the candy that was missing, had peanuts in it? Just a guess ...

She is a John Lennon fan, and she vanished in his birthday. Lots of people head to NYC on a sort of pilgrimage on that day.

Anyway...I just wish (all) LE would be more open with the public until a person is found, and worry about protecting possible clues later. JMO

I flip flop on this case daily... Hourly sometimes...

Interesting fact (coincidental?) that AH disappeared on John Lennon's birthday... And she was quite a fan of his....

English as the second language for mom is an interesting revelation, too...

If they mean anything... I don't know....

But they lead my mind in new directions... Anyway....

A theory is maybe its abt that older boy and they were
contacting on line for a while thru MSN or whatever
and he didnt show up his photo and didnt tell abt his real age and occupation and that he made her trust her and finally persuaded him to meet face to face on 9 oct for the first time and she got on the car that day and he assaulted her, she wanted to run away and so ..

But LA had mentioned that she befriended an older boy and has a boyfiend suggesting me to think that the friednship with this older boy was ended somehow and she now has a boyfriend.. I'm not clear at that point.

Just a theory...

Yes... I am still very curious about the situation with the "older man/boy" AH supposedly friended.....

Not a clue from Abby and that she just vanished makes me think she either got on a car or went to someone's house or someone's store being on her way ..

maybe she was invited to that house/store by the abductor ....just maybe...
