Creepy weird things in rural areas, gang killings in cities..you don't get drive by shootings in the woods, but you get people off the grid, hungry for whatever and a lot of fugitives hiding out or so I believe.

I do believe LE has something..I believe they know something about her mindset in the days before leaving, I believe they are questioning folks still or it may be called and seen as working closely with the family, friends and townspeople. I believe we have a lot more to learn about this case.

I'm not seeing LE out there constantly asking public for clues. Not seeing them desperately searching new and odd areas. If they had no clue I think we would be seeing that, often.

I want to believe she is being held somewhere, I am having a difficult time feeling positive though then I think if LE were on a recovery mission rather than a rescue they would be combing and combing the surrounding areas.

Well, I say she was picked up not "taken" by someone who had picked her up on more then one occasion. And right under everyone's noses. <modsnip>

When they say very public place, I think they mean so many tourists, busy road connecting to trails. This little town bursts open in the summer, during foliage, school vacations throughout the year and Christmas Shopping Season.

but reaching the end of the woods would-as in walking down that highway and near the stores

That's 302 right? I think she has to have made it off the original chunk of trail and out to that road. Did someone grab her? Or was an acquaintance friendly and offered a ride? Are ATVs allowed on those trails?

I think she hopped into a car with somebody she knew...friend of a friend or family or who knows...but no signs of struggle have been reported (not to say they didn't find any). There is the possibility walking home and meeting up with somebody was planned, but the somebody had different ideas.

If somebody pulled her unwillingly into a vehicle, it is very unlikely nobody would have seen that happen.

Does use of force in a situation make the victim 'stupid and naive'?

absolutely NOT........ my bestie and her step sis were lured to hang out with guys we knew at a park.... then taken by force.... the girls were 17 and 18 at the time.... when i was little my friend who was 11 she had emotional disabilities and was just left unattended to "go play".... lured by an unknown stranger and then obviously taken by force as far as being overpowered..... i don't blame the girls in anyway....

in this day and age a scenario with meeting someone you don't know from the internet.... they should know better,,,,, but it is still.... NEVER the victim's fault

If LE is not searching, they may believe she was taken into a car, and have no idea of where else to search, since none of her items seem to have been located. I don't think they have any idea where she is. Searching generally stops after a few weeks in these cases, unless they search based on specific tips.

atv/sled trails as well as walking.

I don't think she did anything stupid. I think she is a teenage girl who like the rest of them don't think through things.

Come on, who didn't take the short cut now and then just because a parent said not to.

True true true. Seems the searching stopped quickly.

LE never stated she took a "short cut".

considering the area.... they did a very thorough job searching... and then a second group of retired LE and such came through..... my hubby and i searched.... it stinks but.... nothing has been found

Even with Kyron, who was seven, actual searching pretty much wound down within ten days, and then searching became specific and targeted based on pings or tips. But if LE does not have that info, what can they do? She could easily have been taken out of state, or at least out of the area.

Takeitfromme, do you know how far surrounding the immediate area they went(I say that lightly because nothing there is immediate In the terrain)? I believe maine fish/game was involved at the beginning though not a clue the areas that were searched over the border.

ok from what i understand... maine fish and game assisted with the saco river search, including the area around the river into brownfield maine (near fryeburg)....
in conway all of cranmore mtn, the saco river, the power line trail.... rt 16/302, north south road, areas in jackson and bartlett and some of 112 (the kancamagus scenic byway).....
my hubby me and 4 friends searched 112 from lincoln to conway and along the pemigawassett river (east branch) and the swift river

So let's break it down in 2 camps (her disappearance)

A. Someone she knew
B Someone she didn't know.

How to proceed?

Obviously start with social media.
If I recall, Abigail's twitter account was public for a while, as also her Facebook?

Look for clues there
Look at her phone records-pay attention to timeline.

Or maybe there is a Camp C-someone she communicated with but didn't know.

Maybe this has been answered, but why would she take the yellow line thru the woods on the map? Wouldn't it be shorter to stay on Eagles Way which is the hypotenuse?
