Hello everyone,
I have been reading your comments for a few weeks, finding everything very insightful, and in my mind I think I have pieced so many clues together that several things make sense to me now. I have a question, if I decided that I might have a tip that is useful to the FBI who would I send it to? I've thought it over for 2 days and I'd like to email it. It's more than interesting. I think the FBI has already researched it but what if they have not and I sit here and say nothing and maybe its significant? If I report it and they tell me it is not significant, I can laugh about it later and go back to petting my cats and I could share it with you. LOL I'm really not a crazy cat lady! The Boston FBI page has a list of several offices. Also KR, the FBI investigator for AH's disappearance, he works in which office in NH or Boston? I wanted to post what I have found but its just not a good idea for several reasons. I remember that one person on here has sent tips to the police or FBI so I was wondering if they look into the tip and ever give you a call back so you know if they ever researched it?

it would be the BEST that you call or email it in.... and be patient and descriptive, but do not post it here..... as you said it would not be a good idea.... the best think to do would be to call 1800callFBI... the call takers are patient and you're talking to a live human.... I will PM you.... :)

Okay, is it going to be a press conference or a press release? There is a difference...

My thoughts from day one. The size and swiftness of that response is completely atypical. I said it from day one, and I still believe, IMO - there was already an FBI presence in or around that area for SOMETHING.

I agree! Something set them in motion quickly! As I see it there is something else related to this disappearance!

Playing devils advocate- if you take Abby's dad's letter to indicate the way LE is leaning- that she ran away and is afraid to return out of embarrassment over all of the media attention- maybe they're thinking that going more low profile with the investigation and less media coverage, will encourage her to return home on her own. At least, that's what I'm hoping.

That's a good question. I'm not sure but I think not. Can anyone else weigh in?

FYI: If you have an additional question, try making it a new post instead of an edit so that it stands out and doesn't get lost upthread.

The only follow-up would be if they want to speak to you in more detail....otherwise, no. You give the tip and leave it in their hands. :)

Then why push the governor for an Amber Alert to be issued? :banghead:

If my kid was missing, I'd want an amber alert issued immediately, whether there was a car or driver description, and whether I thought she was forced into a car or got in willingly to run away.

Isn't timing important? The earlier the better?

Better late than never though, I guess...

Abby's dad's letter to the governor was written in a much different style than his letter to Abby. Abby's mom said his letter to Abby were his words- she recognized them. I don't think he wrote the letter to the governor. I believe someone wrote it for him- maybe a friend? or a lawyer?

I'm not saying he doesn't want an amber alert issued. I'm sure he does. Who wouldn't?

That said, he's been criticized for not speaking out immediately and maintaining a low profile. It could be argued that this late plea for an amber alert, which questions the judgment call of LE, is a way to deflect the criticism he's received. Cynical way to look at it though...

New Hampshire's version of the Amber Alert system is used only when authorities believe someone under 18 been abducted and is in danger, and when authorities have something specific they're asking the public to look for. Jim Van Dongen, spokesman for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, says that usually means asking people to look for a certain car or license plate.

Soooo....one and two go together. If they believed she was abducted, then she would also be in danger. Either they don't believe she was abducted, or they don't have anything to tell the public to look for. Could they just use her clothing and bag description as something to look for?

There is the possibility of a major snowstorm in the Conway area next week. Some forecasters predicting 1-2 feet of snow :(

No matter what the letter meant (for which I'm thinking it is to change the Amber Alert System in NH).

The system needs to encompass protocol for getting the word out across state lines when a child is missing and they don't have specific evidence like a car nor abductor description. It is a disgrace there is nothing in place if states can make their own decisions and some will not use the Amber Alert System for these cases. We all know, the faster the word gets out the more chance of finding the child asap.
