When I read that I thought he said that so if she sent a message they would know for sure it was her as he and she only knew what that verse would be..

Remember dad's letter about the Bible verse (I'm on my cell)? Does any of the date detail on these letters = book/verse?

On page 2 of Abby's tumblr account, there is a bible reference.

"Young did not say why there was a delay in delivery of the letter to Zenya Hernandez. She said in a later interview there was an ordinary explanation for it and the reason “was not alarming to us.”

Good.. let's move on from that then!

I wonder why the letter was sent to a PO box. Maybe it was so that it wouldn't obviously be a letter to her mother, if whoever is with her saw it? She could say it was a job application or something.

(By the way. I had no idea until reading this thread that some teenagers don't know their address! I'm gobsmacked by this, I think I knew mine from about 4 or 5 years old)

So we are to now believe that after being gone for two week Abby said, "gee. I think I'll write my mother a letter. Come on!"

What other explanation is there? LE said it was written by her and they are obviously taking it seriously and not as a hoax.

Was it addressed to a PO Box? we don't know. Who owned the PO box? we don't know. But when the FBI is monitorring your mail what's the mechanism for that? Do they set up a PO Box and notify the Post Office to divert all your mail to that?

(my kids knew their complete address and phone number at the same age and my youngest just turned 20)

It's possible that that was the first opportunity that Abby had to write and mail a letter. We don't know her circumstances; she may have had to sneak that letter into a mailbox or wait until she could get an envelope or a stamp.

I wonder if they found Abby's fingerprints on the letter or the envelope.

I wondered that too - or someone else's as well? It apparently took them 2 weeks to authenticate it and all they said was the letter used a "tone that Abby would use" so it obviously wasn't handwritten...

In the letter Abby's dad wrote, he mentioned that a bible verse was her computer password. I wonder if saying that he knows her password is a coded message of some sort, to Abby and whoever she is with, telling them that he has read all of her online correspondence with this person.

Abby's mom's letter talks about helping her follow her dreams. It makes me think the person who Abby is with initially convinced her to run away and help her with modeling dreams but it turned into an abduction. Someone who posed as an "older boy." Maybe dad's comment about knowing the password is a sign/reassurance that they are onto whoever has her.

Not giving any info. about where the letter was postmarked from could be to prevent hundreds of false leads pouring in with sightings of similar looking girls that are not Abby. If they gave a city or state, people could be more likely to think they see her. Just like with the DC sniper case...all of a sudden, people reported seeing suspicious white vans all over the area. All of the false leads would have to be investigated and take time and attention away from whatever LE feels should be done. By asking people around the nation to be aware, if they think she is in a certain area, and tips of a sighting are reported, wouldn't that seem more genuine?

This was my first post, so my apologies if it was not entirely a coherent read.
Just wildly speculating. Abby and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I understand that LE wants to avoid false leads. They don't have the time, manpower or resources to investigate a mess like that.

Also, I wonder if they think the postmark is no longer important, especially if they think she's being trafficked throughout the US. I wish they would have shared that theory with the public, if in fact that is their main theory. If that's what's happening here, the places to look for her would be motels, truck stops, and back page ads, rather than grocery stores, malls, and restaurants.

If they really want the public's help, they need to give enough information for the public to be able to contribute in a meaningful way.

I think that is what Ramsey was alluding to;
"He said one-in-eight endangered runaways are forced into some kind of sexual exploitation. Ramsey said that statistic is troubling and that Abby fits the profile as a 15-year-old juvenile female without any independent financial means."

She could have printed it. But most teens now do not write in cursive, they print with block letters, so to me, their handwriting pretty much looks the same. Maybe her mom was not positive that it was her handwriting.

I agree. I understood what he was alluding to, but I'm not sure he communicated it in a clear enough way to educate the public and move them to action.

If they want this case to gain national media attention, they should bring in a PhD on the topic to speak to the media, explaining how young girls are lured in and manipulated by organized crime sex rings, etc.

Also, give some more evidence besides her age and lack of income to back their theory. For example, if her letter indicated that she was promised a modeling career or following her dreams, make that info public, educating folks on the different ways girls are lured into this.

Additionally, if they think the Errol sighting was legitimate, of Abby with a man and young woman, confirm their suspicions that she may have been with a pimp and a "bottom". Educate the public!

"Generally, the traffickers are very organized. Many have a hierarchy system similar to that of other criminal organizations. Traffickers who have more than one victim often have a “bottom,” who sits atop the hierarchy of prostitutes. The bottom, a victim herself, has been with the trafficker the longest and has earned his trust. Bottoms collect the money from the other girls, discipline them, seduce unwitting youths into trafficking, and handle the day-to-day business for the trafficker."

Finally, explain to the public what to look for and where to look for her: housing or strip clubs with crowded living spaces and many people living there, truck stops, cheap motels, ads in sports sections for "dating", Backpage, etc.

Put simply I want the truth and all the details that even might 'hinder the investigation".

How can anyone possibly be happy with what is presented if it's less than the facts?

It's time to change the way missing persons and abductions are handled. the current process is not working--time to regroup.

Stay safe Abby if you can. My opinions only with the greatest respect for LE, Abby and family--Bring em home.

Yes! The current process (for handling missing persons cases) is not working!!!
