IMO, LE seems t be concerned that she had no known money or access to food, etc...not that she is in the hands of sex traffickers. But JMO.
Well, the actual context of what they stated at the presser was this: "Either willingly, coerced..she is a 15 year old girl with no independent financial means. One in eight runaways can be forced into sexual situations after the abduction occurs." So, it looks like they are, indeed, worried that she could be in the hands of sex traffickers.
The letter makes me doubt any trafficking. Those in charge of the ring would never allow her to send a letter.
You know, that's true. I don't think traffickers would have her write such a letter either. That would be more like what a single person, inexperienced with the sex trade, hiding her out somewhere, who wants to take the heat off, would do.
