Alexander Talcott, 41, was found dead inside his house in Durham on Saturday morning with a stab wound to his neck, the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said.

Alex Talcott, 41, who died of stab wounds in his Durham home, is being described by those who knew him as a thoughtful, intelligent man.

Both this and the Daily Mail article I linked above contain a sentence stating that police are investigating if the stabbing of AT was done in self-defense, which I find VERY interesting. Also, I was slightly surprised that no family members have been mentioned nor quoted in the press yet, only AT’s professional colleagues.

Killing of GOP Activist in New Hampshire Under Investigation

A colleague called Alexander Talcott “an exceptionally skilled champion for the rule of law and the importance of fair and honest elections.”

“In an interview published online last November, Talcott said he received “public schooling” in an affluent New York suburb and, in college, he “met and later married a prestigious prep school alumna. “And today we homeschool our three kids!” he added.


Talcott was quoted later in the interview as saying he was “thirteen years sober” and, when asked about the “primary motivation” of his work, he answered: “I feel called to do my part to make my society as just and glorious as possible.”

“The woman had been exploring a separation from her husband, who had been acting erratically toward her, including texting about a desire to kill himself, and was experiencing financial trouble, investigators said in their report. Talcott attacked her early in the morning of Aug. 26, saying he wouldn't let her leave with their three kids, but she was able to wrest the knife from her husband and stab him in the neck.”
