Didn't he drop out of high school in 1960? Maybe this is part of the reason he left school and enlisted in the Navy in 1961.
Especially if either one of them was discovered in LA County - back then, IIRC they cremated pretty much all UID remains in LA County. I agree that I don't think either of them have found, myself, but if they were found in Los Angeles, we might never be able to figure out.I am of the opinion that neither Pepper or Denise has been found yet, but has anyone considered either woman might be one of many unidentified does in california who's remains were cremated before burial? That would explain the DNA not hitting in connection with Rea. Unfortunately if that is the case I'm not sure what can be done- I doubt dental records are available as Pepper was never reported missing.
I don't have an answer, but I've been wondering the same thing.. I can't find any record of her having had a middle name anywhere. Maybe she just didn't have one?Does anyone know if Pepper had a middle name? Just curious.

Cool find. Thanks. She is referred to with the acronym "NMI (no middle initial)" in this 2004 Ancestry forum post from someone trying to find her; https://www.ancestry.com/boards/surnames.reed/6030
