Found Deceased NH - Ashley Turcotte, 31, last seen at home, her car found at the town hall with her phone & backpack, Barnstead, 4 Jan 2024

The Town Hall parking lot is teeny tiny. Perhaps parks 15 cars. It’s centered between the fire department and a church who has a parking strip for about 10 cars. The police department is off a side street right behind all of those buildings. See Google maps sat view below.

I cannot imagine someone dumping her car there, even in the middle of the night, as that area is so incredibly rural. There would be countless places that would go unnoticed for weeks or months. You would risk FD or PD spotting headlights pulling in.

Not to mention down that driveway on Shackford Corner rd, just a bit up the rd from there is New Road where the search ended. By a bit it just a short ways up across the street.

Ashley Turcotte, 31, was last seen at her home in Barnstead on Thursday, Jan. 4, according to the Barnstead Police Department

Investigators noted that Turcotte’s backpack and cellphone were found in her car.

“Ashley is an artist who always paints pumpkins for all of our town departments,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.

They say 31-year-old Ashley Turcotte was last seen Thursday, Jan. 4, in Barnstead, a town of about 5,000 located about 20 miles south of Lake Winnipesaukee. She is described as 5’5″ tall, with brown hair and eyes. She has scars on her arms, and was last seen wearing dark pants, a dark long-sleeved shirt and possibly a black or blue winter coat.

Has her family checked the seat adjustment, is it further back then where she kept it, or is it further forward? That is an indicator that someone else drove her car. Have someone with the same approximate height and weight get into her car and test it.

Unless everything has already been adjusted when her car was driven home to her family.

And it seems too risky for someone to have abducted her in front of the Town Office, being that her stuff was left behind it tells me that she knew the person, it wasn’t random and that the person wanted her belongings to be found (hence the reason why I believe that she knew the individual).

Can anyone check the approximate date, day of or the day before, in conjunction with the amount of gas in her car?

If Ashley gassed up a little bit, and if there is camera footage (ASK AROUND ABOUT CHECKING CAMERAS!) then you lookup the approximate MPG that her car gets, how much gas she bought and how much is leftover and it will give you an approximate distance for a search radius, that is assuming of course someone drove her car to the Town Office.

I don't recall seeing this before which explains why there was no report on the date and time Ashley parked her car at the town center. Rest easy Ashley.

From the official missing fb page:

Ashley Turcotte was reported missing on Thursday, morning on January 4th, 2024. She was last physically seen at her residence in Barnstead, New Hampshire.

Her vehicle was later located in downtown Barnstead. It can be seen on a motion activated camera surveillance, but it was too far away to start that camera recording when the vehicle arrived.

I would leave my phone + backpack in vehicle if I thought I was getting out for a very quick errand or just saying hi to someone, id be interested to know if she had any money on her person (errand could involve money despite backpack in car). Location of car is interesting given her chosen career (which she is amazing at...)
very worried about the arm scars... gosh it's hard to love ourselves for many of us, isn't it??
prayers for ms Ashley, a wonderful artist..
The vehicle was spotted by the Church's camera and then after that sighting shortly after she was sighted at the dollar store , twice. But she was found not far from where the car was parked months later. Her last post on Etsy was on the 2nd and the vehicle I believe was found on the 5th and p/u at around 5:30pm. If you ask me nothing seems to add up, or I am trying to make things fit a scenario.

It seems she was last seen at her house on the 3rd and the vehicle was found on the 5th and the posting of would be away for a break for a short time on the 2nd. Seems she had a plan. And purchased salt and a bag of candy at the Dollar General store. But than the final search by a Military Branch of Service that months after successfully located Ashley. Not sure but seems from the 2nd and the 5th there was some activity on her part. And because of the announced break from Etsy there most likely was a plan of some sorts. Wonder if the phone tracked it's location from the 2nd through the 5th and when it was left with the car.

I guess really my question but afraid somewhat to ask is "was she pregnant?"

I think this is due to confusing phraseology in the articles.. she is reported to have been missing since Thursday. I believe the day she was reported missing was Saturday, but on that day she had been missing since Thursday.. if that makes sense :). Several articles have propagated with what I think is inaccurate information about when the report was made... But please correct if I'm wrong!
In that Laconia newspaper, Chief Paul Poirier said police have examined every piece of surveillance footage that might have recorded what happened after Turcotte parked her car, but haven’t found anything useful. There is not a camera that covers the section of the lot where she parked, he said. "Turcotte parked her car," ??? But no one saw that she had parked there. And I thought she posted on Etsy on the 2nd PM, and was last seen at her house on the 3rd and vehicle was found on the 5th @ 5:30 pm. There is different renditions of what , where and when. I guess I was under the assumption she was last seen by the camera's at the Dollar General Store. And the 3rd is when she was last seen at the house. I assume that is when the car was driven from the home. And found on the 5th, Friday, at 5pm Someone had to have seen it parked in the lot. Specially if it was on camera from the church's cameras on the 3rd. That might mean it was parked overnight near the town office, fire dept, church and across the way from the police department. Or wasn't parked there till sometime before the 5th at 5pm if that is when it was found.
