Wonder where he lived when working in St Louis? He could have lived in Illinois since its right by the border.

I'm still trying to figure out if he really was in St. Louis of if he lied about that. As far as we know, in the early 70's he was still using his real name. However, there is the mystery woman he brought to AZ in Dec 1974. She could be from St. Louis if he was telling the truth about working there in the early 70's. But we know he lied about many things.

For example, before we knew his real name investigators released this info about his possible Oregon ties:

The National Center said law enforcement suspects the man spent time in Oregon at various times.

Among the clues related to Oregon:

  • Evans claims to have traveled to Oregon at some point between 1986-1989 to pick berries
  • Evans made statements suggesting his parents may have lived in Oregon
  • Evans made statements suggesting he was familiar with the town Dexter, Oreogn, outside Eugene
  • He suggested he owned property here
  • He was familiar with the Dexter Market

So now that we know he is Terry Rasmussen. I'm pretty sure his parents did not live in Oregon (not going to sleuth them here but LE has released that his parents lived in CO, AZ, and HI). On the other hand, I think it is possible/believable that he went to Oregon to pick berries sometime in the late 80's after abandoning Denise's Daughter in CA. Did he own property there? IDK.

Can a separate thread/folder be started that just contains pictures/maps? It is hair pulling trying to go back and forth between the threads and try to match thoughts up.

Still going through old links, I found this list of places he mentioned:
- Evanstown, Wyo.: Possible place of birth
- Denver, Colo.: Possibly spent time here
- Roanoke, Va.: Evans claimed he married his wife Denise LaPorte here, who cannot be identified or located
- Quebec, Canada: Evans also claims he met his wife LaPorte here
- San Pedro, Calif.: Possible place of birth
- Anaheim, Calif.: Possibly employed here
- Bay City, Texas: Possibly spent time here with "family" and was employed here
- Ingleside, Texas: Possibly employed here
- Houston, Texas: Evans claimed LaPorte died here; was possibly employed here
- Austin, Texas: Evans attempted to call someone here living in an RV park
- Corpus Christi, Texas: Evans stated his wife was murdered in Corpus Christi
- Honolulu, Hawaii: Possible association to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, based in Honolulu
- Greensboro, Ga.: Possibly arrested under another alias name here
- Phoenix, Ariz.: Possible place of employment
- St. Louis, Mo.: Possible place of employment
- Louisiana: Possible place of employment
- Washington State: Possible place of employment
- Oregon: Possible state of travel/employment

I'm shocked at how many of these turned out to be actual places he had been/had connections to.

I've suggested a separate sub forum before so we can have threads on all the different aspects of the case(s), but there doesn't seem to be interest. I agree it's very hard to stay on one topic. Sorry if I jump around a lot.

I agree with you. I feel scatter brain when I ask a question only to find the answer on a thread from a while back.

It's unavoidable under the circumstances...but we should at least have a no-discussion media and timelines thread so we don't have to keep searching for old posts.

In something I read (newspaper article, press release, etc.) I saw his name as "Terence" as well as "Terry." Now, I can't locate the source of that information.

I agree! I'm willing to start a non-discussion media and timeline thread if mods approve. I also think we should re-name this thread as Terry Pedro Rasmussen now that we know his name. I'll pm a mod and ask if that's ok. (ETA: PM sent).

I think it's a leap to go from fake names to a stolen ID. At this point we can agree he used fake names. The Globe Staff noted he used stolen ID's, but I've yet to see LE, FBI or AG Strelzin use that terminology.

Piknik good observation between fake and stolen IDs. I can assure you though that it was confirmed by LE that real identities have been stolen. I remember about 2 IDs for sure, not sure about more, maybe 3. Curtis Mayo Kimball, was confirmed by LE to be stolen from Texas (or was it Georgia?) in 80s were real Curtis briefly worked and his wallet got stolen. They interviewed real Curtis M. Kimball. I think Mockerman was confirmed too.

My memory is a bit blurry on this so don't take little details (such as names and places) above literally. I will try to locate exact information a bit later on today and will post it here.

Correct.

To answer others Terry is just shortening of Terrance. The same as Bob would be for Robert, Mike for Michael, Sue for Suzy etc.

Ok, I went back and looked, he used 5 alias names. I decided to do like 'blues clues" and pull out my handy dandy notebook and take down certain info. Sheesh.....that man got around. In November 1988 , he was pulled over for driving stolen vehicle from Preston Idaho. Any connections there? Was it reported who actually owned the vehicle?

Sounds like St. Louis is still uncertain.

Found some of ID theft info

Curtis Mayo Kimball - ID theft in Texas
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-1981-2000-s-2/page55&highlight=forthevictims
The real CMK worked out of LaPorte TX. in the early 1980s and did not have any problems with ID theft until after that. And the suspect didn't use CMK until 1984 in SoCal. The RV Park that he called from N. Cali was not too far from LaPorte TX. ..... (Denise LaPorte?....) more dots connecting, but it is difficult to make solid lines after all these years.

Gerry Mockerman - ID theft in Georgia
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-1981-2000-s-2/page53&highlight=forthevictims
Only record found so far was simply of an arrest in Georgia under the Gordon Jenson name and previous info was same physical description-if you find more please share! Thank you! Also the real Mockerman lost his ID paperwork outside of Atlanta GA.
The year of arrest had to have been sometime in late 1986-after he abandoned Lisa. And before he showed up in Idaho. Not sure now offhand on the town-but both were near Atlanta GA. The exact date of Mockerman's ID theft is unknown-just that it was in the early 1980s outside of Atlanta. If folk are not deceased then memories can be hazy. But it can still connect the dots..

This ID theft is not confirmed but suspected to be by Bob/Terry
Here's something interesting-

http://law.justia.com/cases/california/court-of-appeal/3d/94/451.html

Just feels like him, but can't say for sure. If so that would place him in San Francisco between 1975 and 1977.
Appeals court says records gone.
SF court says records gone. (searched under all AKAs and DOBs)
Looks like his attorney and the investigator are now deceased. If anyone can find otherwise please share...or any other ideas on other search methods.
The Canavesio was a real person, now deceased, no record retained of a CDL on that Gordon Jensen or the forms presented in court. (would of been a thumbprint!!!)
Any other ideas on digging up info???
No the respondent was not present in 1979 and his attorney is now deceased. It looks like the DMV investigator is also probably deceased.

from the link - http://law.justia.com/cases/california/court-of-appeal/3d/94/451.html
At the preliminary hearing, John McKee, a special investigator with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), introduced three DMV forms to the court: (1) an application for a California driver's license signed by Gordon Jensen and dated September 18, 1975; (2) an application for a California identification card signed by Charles Lee Canavesio and dated November 8, 1976; and (3) an application for a California identification card signed by Gordon Jensen and dated August 16, 1977.

I found a CMK that lived nearby where Mockerman lost his ID paperwork. I just re-read that post and whoa! I totally missed the part with the Jenson arrest! That would be nuts if he had gotten most of his alias's from Georgia!

real Curtis Mayo Kimball- lived in a couple areas 30 mins outside of Atlanta
Bob as Gordon Jenson- Greensboro Arrest
real Gerry Mockerman- lost ID outside of Atlanta
All areas are within an hour of each other

I made a mapView attachment 115149

Btw, should not you be all watching eclipse or something? ;)

Already seen the eclipse in 1979, this is far more interesting
