They really need to get this shown more nationally. I can't believe no one is coming forward saying they know who this child is. Didn't he have friends, grandparents, a doctor, cousins or aunts and uncles, Neighbors, didn't go grocery shopping or frequent other stores? This just blows my mind.
If any one of my 3 kids ages 2-17 were unidentified I can think of many many many people that would recognize them. This is so sad.

The information he provided about CODIS was interesting. In the UID section here on WS, CODIS is mentioned all the time so it isn't just used to match criminals...

I got this from the CODIS website:
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/lab/codis/codis_brochure
Several Indexes Categorize the Profiles Entered into CODIS

■Convicted Offender – contains DNA profiles of individuals convicted of crimes.
■Arrestees – contains profiles of arrested persons (if state law permits the collection of arrestee samples).
■Forensic – contains DNA profiles developed from crime scene evidence, such as semen stains or blood.
■Missing Persons – contains DNA reference profiles from missing persons.
■Biological Relatives of Missing Persons – contains DNA profiles voluntarily contributed from relatives of missing persons.
■Unidentified Humans (Remains) – contains DNA profiles developed from unidentified humans and remains.

I don't think they will find anything unless one of the parents has a criminal record and has profile in CODIS.

As someone else pointed out, I would be very interested to know if the military maintains some type of DNA database....if they don't it would be a great idea.

Usually a female doesn't go out and buy a Tacoma w an extended cab w a lid on the bed, nor are they cheap.

I am having an extremely difficult time dealing with the fact that NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON has reported this child missing since Saturday. How is that possible? I can't come up with a single idea. Even if it's the wife of a serviceman out to sea, or overseas, how would no one in that area not have seen that child or known that child to identify him?

I agree, it doesn't seem like a females vehicle. I really think a male is associated with the truck even though it was a woman possibly driving it. I think it's her husbands, boyfriend or fathers etc..

If this truck doesn't have anything to do with the child you would think that with all the news in the area about it that the persOn who was driving the truck down that road that morning would come forward to clear things up. Makes me think this truck does belong to who ever left the child there.

State Police spokesman seemed very open and answered every question asked. The boy has not been identified and the case is described as highly unusual because it's going into the 4th day and no missing persons report has been filed. DNA is being tested to enter into the NAMUS database.

Police have resolved over half of 200 leads/tips and working on the rest. Several agencies involved and he seems frustrated the boy has not been identified, mentioning if they knew who he was they could really take off on the investigation. Mitochondrial DNA is being tested to try and match family members.

I agree, I don't think this child came from a lower income family, as they stated he was well taken care of, nice clothes, previous haircut, nails were clean and so on. This case is getting me rather confused. Why put forth taking care of your child in a loving way, then dump him on the side of the road?

I respectfully disagree. I am female and would totally buy a Tacoma with an extended cab....probably not with a "lid". I'd like to know more about that too...is it like a bedcover or like a camper type cover?

The first vehicle I purchased for myself was a Chevrolet S-10 extended cab...that is all I could afford, but I would take a Tacoma in a heart beat.

I have a feeling the female is not around any more and booked. The truck ditched?

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this as well. If he was well cared for he would have a doctor. If he was a regular kid he would have a friend or two. Neighbors would of seen him out playing. He would of been in or already out of preschool by that age, maybe even in kindergarten. Someone had to of seen this child besides who ever put him there!

If he was homeschooled, that would've limited his exposure to those who might ordinarily have been missing him by this point........

What/who is the daycare child being discussed? I'm lost.

The "Daycare Boy" is a completely random boy, who is probably NOT missing or endangered. Someone on Facebook (who could be a troll for all we know) posted a picture of him and said they used to know him (at a daycare in some mystery location). So there's not really any connection. Well, maybe there is, but it's extremely unlikely.

I drive a full size Dodge Ram, 1500 Quad Cab.

If this Tacoma belongs to someone who doesn't watch the news... and has only heard the color description... not the Navy emblem... that may be why nobody has come forward. We have been told there is a lot of trucks like this in the area.

If I saw a report about a white Dodge Ram 1500 being used in a crime my first thought wouldn't be "I should call them to let them know it wasn't me..." because there is a TON of trucks almost exactly like mine.

Now, if they said it had huge trailer mirrors, a tonneau cover, car seats in the back, a bent license plate and a really really short person driving... THEN I would call. :innocent:

Someone should have missed the child or recognized the child by now. I am worried that there are more to be found. Maybe several more.

I have a Mercury Mountaineer myself, given the practicality of 4 WD in New England. My first vehicle I bought was a brand new Nissan pickup many years ago, before I had kids.
That said though, the vehicle isn't generally what most women would buy, especially one w a child. Women with children are more likely to buy something more family orientated like an SUV or minivan if they are going to spend that kind of money and drive a larger vehicle.
