If they were using right before getting arrested then I bet they're having a really fun time right now with withdrawal. That picture of him getting transported makes it pretty clear that he was in a really bad state, either withdrawal, just very high on something, or overdosing.

Mother of missing boy, man charged in case to remain in jail - Dauphinais' brother said their family is estranged, and he last spoke to his sister a year ago. He also said she has five children, and has never hurt her children that he knows of.
Five kids! These cases make me crazy - why do these people keep these kids that they can't or won't take care of? Are they getting a check? Why not put them up for adoption? Then they could live whatever lifestyle they want unimpeded. And it sounds like she even has family the kids could go to. It's hitting close to home today as my tween daughter just came in with her best friend - adopted at age 4 - such a cutie and so loved by her parents, issues and all. Why on earth not let these kids go?

Unfortunately, this is one of those cases where the one silver lining is that the siblings are removed and hopefully have a chance at a healthy normal life. And the "mom" goes away long enough that she is past her child rearing years.

ETA - oh no, just seeing this.

I’m always driving on that road. Poor baby. It’s so close to me. It’s a very wooded area and people are always parked along the road to ride their dirt bikes or whatever.

They were found in NY, it seems odd they would have travelled that way to get to NY from NH. Were either of them from that area?

They could have gone through MA and then down through Hartford. It's the "long way" but definitely seems likely if they wanted LE off their tracks.
