This girl’s sweet face haunts me. How could you do anything but love her? :(

I don't think the statement is misleading at all, IIR - Sorey didn't make the call until prompted by Jameson's adoptive parents who were asking about her.

Keep in mind that Sorey's parental rights were terminated by a court.

No attempted contact, no attempted communication is reasonable. Sad, but reasonable.

That Harmony could be living with Jamison & other brothers -- gives this hurt additional dimensions. People were ready to love & nurture & shelter Harmony yet were denied the opportunity.

Reminds me of Erica Parsons:

RIP, Sweetie!

I guess the mods can change the title and add arrested to it. She must not br missing if this is a MURDER charge.

MANCHESTER, NH — Kayla Montgomery, the stepmother of 5-year-old Harmony Montgomery, has entered into a fully negotiated plea agreement with the state of New Hampshire.

Montgomery’s lawyer, Paul Garrity filed paperwork in Hillsborough County Court Wednesday that outlines the negotiated plea and sentencing, which is expected to be approved by a judge later this week.

She faces two counts of perjury in cases 1982119C and 1982120C, which she will plead guilty to for the agreement to testify in the trial of Adam Montgomery, who is charged with murdering Harmony Montgomery.

The sentence for the first perjury case is 3.5 to 7 years in the New Hampshire State Prison for women, with an agreement that 1.5 years of the minimum sentence will be suspended for 10 years. Kayla Montgomery will receive 197 days of credit for time already served.

The remaining sentence will be suspended for 10 years.

[..]

Kayla Montgomery will waive all rights to a trial as part of the plea and is mandated to cooperate and testify in the trial of Adam Montgomery.

Information will be updated as it becomes available

Not necessarily. Suzanne Morphew and Jennifer Dulos are still missing and murder charges were filed. Prosecuting a no-body homicide is not uncommon.

Harmony Montgomery’s mom Crystal Sorey says she wasn’t happy when she heard from investigators this week that Kayla Montgomery had reached a plea deal.

“I told them how I felt,” said Sorey. “This isn’t fair. She was a part of it.”

Sorey says Kayla Montgomery is getting off easy.

“As far as I’m concerned Kayla can rot,” said Sorey.

According to court documents, Kayla Montgomery will plead guilty to perjury charges. She’ll serve less than two years behind bars, in exchange for cooperating in the investigation into Harmony’s murder.

“It means she’s doing it for herself so she can see the light of day again,” said Sorey. “So she can one day be free. She’s not doing it for Harmony.”

I don't believe in the death penalty, but if I did, it would be for people like the one who murdered Harmony.

IMO they were too easy on Kayla with this deal. She deserves so much more time behind bars.

The stepmother of a New Hampshire girl who disappeared in 2019 at age 5 and is presumed dead was sent to prison for at least a year and a half Friday after pleading guilty to perjury charges.

Kayla Montgomery, 32, pleaded guilty to two charges alleging that she lied to a grand jury about working at a doughnut shop on Nov. 30, 2019, the day she said she last saw Harmony Montgomery. She also agreed to cooperate with prosecutors who have charged her estranged husband with second-degree murder in the child’s death.

In exchange, prosecutors dropped charges that Montgomery lied to state health officials about having the child in her care in order to collect welfare benefits and that she received stolen firearms.

She did not speak at her hearing in Hillsborough County Superior Court other than to indicate that she understood the details of the plea agreement. She was sentenced to 3½ to seven years in prison, with 1½ years of the minimum suspended and given credit for time already served.

Without her plea and her testimony, it may be difficult if not impossible to charge him with Harmony's death. I sincerely hope they are able to get a guilty verdict against him. What would be even better is they could find her and get a guilty verdict. :(

Adam Montgomery stands accused of killing his daughter “by repeatedly striking Harmony in the head with a closed fist.” Adam Montgomery was charged with one count each of falsifying physical evidence by allegedly destroying evidence when he hid or destroyed his daughter’s body to prevent the investigation from moving forward; abuse of a corpse for allegedly purposefully and unlawfully moving or concealing the corpse of Harmony Montgomery “or any part thereof”; and tampering with a witness for allegedly attempting to have wife Kayla “testify falsely.”

I wonder if they will ever find this precious baby’s body. He isn’t going to talk.
