I feel like I need to go read the jury instructions .
I hope the Jury believed Kayla when she said Adam beat Harmony to death in the car ,Thats all we need for them to find him guilty . They do not have to believe her about anything else.
I cant even guess at what the jury is thinking . I do know that ,I myself do not believe the beat to death in the car, story.

I think something worse happened and Adam wanted to destroy every piece of Harmony because it was that bad. No idea of what it could be though. Nothing in the court files to make me imagine this either and the Jury isnt allowed to make up different theory of crime so they can only consider the case as presented in court. Thankfully .

I don't believe it either. IMO it's another one of her lies. It's up to the jury now.....

I didn't watch the testimony but I believe the story is close enough to what happened. They were living in the car, she kept having accidents, he beat her to death, he did make the comments alleged, etc.

This is not the first case where a father allegedly murdered his child and then also did horrific things to the child's body before putting it somewhere. This is a phenomenon I can't begin to understand, but I think it continues to be about having complete control over the child, and they also think it will then be even easier to hide the remains forever.

I have faith the jury will agree he did murder Harmony, even if they think some details are being withheld.

I do believe he is guilty and hope the jury will as well.

Besides the defense atty almost driving me insane with “baby girl,” I did think she made some valid points. I found Kayla’s version of events to be very unbelievable. But, I found the closing odd. Pointing out that Kayla is a liar doesn’t at all negate the fact Adam could have killed Harmony.

None of Adam’s actions (ever) showed him to be a man who relentlessly fought 4 years for custody so he could make a better life for Harmony. She just went from one bad parent to the next.
Crystal was trying to do the right thing by the kids and the judge in Mass denied a.continuance to have Harmony adopted and it was the same day Harmony's brothers adoption took place in NH. She couldn't be in two places at once.

Was it ever disclosed to the jury why the defendant has not been at his trial?

No. For some reason New Hampshire believes defendants have the """right""" to not be at their own trial, and the jury is advised to completely ignore this when they are making their judgements.

The public has been made aware he refused to attend because of a strip search and being "f*cking done" at least once; I'm not sure if they would have stated in court why he chose not to attend that time.

I know it was said a loud by the judge that if he refused to show he would be barred from testifying in the future.

He supposedly wasn't made aware he would be strip searched everyday and refused transport based on that. There is a copy of the COs report on it posted in this thread I believe.

Back for jury deliberations in the trial of Adam Montgomery, accused of killing his 5 yr old daughter Harmony. The girl’s mother is also waiting for a verdict in the courthouse, wearing a shirt with a pink heart, with words “Justice for Harmony” #wcvb

That photo is haunting. It looks like she's praying and her face reveals her stress as she's trying to force a smile. Just my impression. I wonder who took that picture.

The waiting for jury to comeback is nerve wracking?

So if no decision is made due to hung jury could the defense potentially build a separate case against KM?

AM grasping at straws putting blame on her you'd think he would want to tell his side. Suspect AF IMO.

@TimCalWMUR

The prosecution and the defense met with the judge at the bench. Those discussions are private so we don’t know what the question was about. It does however show there is some progress in the deliberation room.

From Tim Callery:

We’re back in the courtroom. No jury just the attorneys and the judge.

11:42 a.m.
From Tim Callery:

Verdict watch update: We’re told the jury has a question. We are waiting to get back into the courtroom to see what that question entails.

11:36 a.m.
From Amy Coveno:

The jury has a question.

10:15 a.m.
From Amy Coveno:

There's nothing yet, but when court announcements are made:

If they say "counsel" to Courtroom 1, that means jury had a question
If they say "counsel and parties" to Courtroom 1, that is likely a verdict

12:08 p.m.
From Amy Coveno:

Here is the question the jury asked:

QUESTION: How does the court define consciously disregarded?

ANSWER: The jury has been given the legal definition of the mental state recklessly. You must use the definition provided. You should use your common sense in judgment, and consider the ordinary usage of the terms within the definition. No additional instruction on this will be provided.

12:02 p.m.
The question was discussed privately between the judge and both sides at the bench, so we do not know what it was about at this time.
