I thought it was interesting that when he was asked If they'd spoken to the parents, he wouldn't say specifically And just said that they have spoken to several family members.

And when he was asked who she was supposed to have been with, he wouldn't say who that was but just that she wasn't with them.. hmm hmm hmm..

The initial call last week came from DCYF.

Reporter asks why DCYF didn't follow up earlier if she was in the system. Chief says, "That's a question I've had!" and says they will follow up on this after they find her. He addresses there may have been a "flaw in the system" and says it is a "very fair question."

This one really stings. We would have taken Harmony no questions asked if her parents couldn't care for her. We would have even helped them through the process. It hurts when it's in your otherwise safe and friendly backyard. There are too many kids who are just an afterthought when they'd be the center of the world in another family.

New details re the house at 77 Gilford St in Manchester and confirmation that an uncle reported an incident to DCYF in the summer of 2019.

Uncle of New Hampshire girl missing for two years says he reported to children's services years ago | Daily Mail Online

From the article:

New Hampshire Child Advocate Moira O'Neill told Manchester station WMUR that her office can't comment on Harmony's specific case, but urged anyone with information to come forward.

'It's also sort of a call, a reminder to all of us that we need to be paying attention to children in our neighborhoods. We need to be paying attention when children don't show up for school, we need to be paying attention when children aren't keeping medical appointments, anything like that.

'We are the safety net for children and we want to be making sure that we know where they are,' O'Neill said.

Authorities have spoken with Harmony's family members but would not reveal which relatives those were.
They said the girl was last seen in the area in October 2019 after police had responded to a call at a house where she was, but they did not disclose the details of the call.

Wonder what the call was about ?
At this time shouldn't an age-progressed photo be released ?
I realize the LE seem to be conducting a recovery investigation.
So sad for this little girl who --it seems-- slipped through the cracks without enough concern to go to LE for answers as to why she couldn't be located.
Imo.

Hopefully that cop was just blowing smoke when he said plugging the holes in their child services dept can wait. Surely that was all talk.

Kudos to the police for holding a press conference today and in time for the evening news. People are just getting back into routines today after the holidays, so many more people will hear today's appeal on the evening news.

Unfortunately, the New Hampshire SOS Bill Gardner announced his retirement at 2pm. He's considered the "Guardian of the First-in-the-Nation Presidential Primary" and the longest serving SOS in the country. 49 years to the day. So this is huge news in NH and may overshadow coverage of the search for Harmony.

If one were to google the father's name, they'd be asking themselves two questions:

Why was he not in prison?

How in God's name did he have custody of this poor girl?

Uncle of Missing Girl Says Family Feuded the Last Time He Saw Her Alive

“The last time that Kevin Montgomery says he saw his great niece, Harmony, she “looked like a scared puppy.”

The terrified look on the then-5-year-old’s face appeared during a contentious situation at the Manchester, New Hampshire house Montgomery shared with several family members, including Harmony and her parents. The October 2019 incident, which Montgomery said included him trying to push through the front door when he wasn’t allowed in, resulted in a call to the police and a divide in the family.”

So Harmony lived in this house with both parents in October 2019. Did the mother leave Harmony and move to Tampa?

Going after the mother is simply cruel and pointless.

Spirit Airlines flies round trip from TPA to MHT for $136 round trip. Nonstop.
Maybe Mom, grandparents or another relative in Tampa can do a crowdfunding to get there.

Hard news conference to watch, so heartbreaking. I wonder if Harmony had any friends? Neighborhood children she played with or families who had her over from time to time.
