Hard news conference to watch, so heartbreaking. I wonder if Harmony had any friends? Neighborhood children she played with or families who had her over from time to time.
I agree. It seems like someone would have missed that sweet girl even outside her family. Part of the problem seems that she went missing around the same time as the family moved. Kind of like Orrin and Orson West.

that was merrimack a few hours away. very sad.
20 minutes. Not two hours.

You maybe mean in Ma where he was found.
Where he was found was because he was dumped. Where he lived was only 20 minutes from Manchester in Merrimack. Still All unrelated to this.

So, were there two incidents with the Uncle or are the dates in one of these articles just wrong? I will go back and watch the presser...

Where Is Harmony Montgomery? Investigation Into Missing NH 7-Year-Old Continues – NBC Boston
A man who said he is the uncle of the girl's father told NBC10 Boston he reported an incident to DCYF in July or August of 2019. He said after he reported the incident his nephew stopped speaking to him.

Missing Girl Harmony Montgomery’s Uncle Says Family Feuded the Last Time He Saw Her Alive (thedailybeast.com)
The October 2019 incident, which Montgomery said included him trying to push through the front door when he wasn’t allowed in, resulted in a call to the police and a divide in the family.”

Unfortunately there is basically zero chance this child is still alive. We've seen this story plenty of times before. It's been easy thanks to the disconnection of children's services offices state to state and even within one state and it's even easier now with covid.

I haven't dug into this case at all beyond what's circulating right at the top of media reporting and I expect that I can already predict what's happened.

Parents will turn out to be some sort of social outsiders most likely relating to drug use but possibly some odd religious or secular beliefs, legitimate disabilities or some combination thereof.
Involvement of children's services in their prior home was most likely reaching a critical point so they fled to a different state where they were not on the radar
Children probably were "home schooled" so as not to be seen by anyone outside of the immediate family
Conditions in the home probably will have deteriorated even beyond the level they'd been forced to flee their prior state over
Parents will have broken up, causing significant decline in both available caretakers and the mental state of the remaining caretakers
Someone new will have entered into the equation be it a new paramour or some relative
As a result of some combination of abuse and neglect, Harmony will have died and her body buried somewhere
The story concocted to shrug off any questions by uninvolved neighbors or witnesses will be that some family member came and took her to live elsewhere

It would be great if this was some kind of exceptional case and she really was somewhere, if someone who had tried to adopt her just came and paid cash money to get her out of a situation like I'm describing before it was too late. Maybe, just maybe that is the reason for the bizarre way that law enforcement is presenting this case with no circumstances being revealed but my cynicism would have me betting that it is on account of massive oversight on the part of children's services and possibly local law enforcement as well.

This absolutely should not happen to children in the United States, the resources are absolutely available to prevent it and yet it does happen time and time again.

Does anyone have dates from a linkable source for the period of time that Harmony and her brother were in foster care? It would have been prior to Nov 22, 2019 when her brother was adopted. TIA

Harmony Montgomery missing persons case: Here's what we know (boston.com)
“He has a very close relationship (with Harmony), or he at least did and when they were in foster care, and we’ve tried to keep that relationship going, but it’s been very, very difficult over the years,” Miller said.

... Aldenberg confirmed that Harmony was in the child welfare system in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and that it was New Hampshire's Division of Children, Youth and Families that notified police last week that Harmony was missing and last seen two years ago.

This article says Brian adopted Harmony's brother in 2019 and at the time Harmony had been reunited with her family. Boston 25 Washington Correspondent Blair Miller shares his personal connection to missing girl in NH
Then on Blair's fb he states that J was adopted when he was 3 and J would often ask about his sister. When Blair asked about Harmony he was told she had already been reunited with her family and her case was closed. Blair then tried to forge some contact with Harmony, but wasn't able to.
From Blair's fb:
They we’re together until he was almost 3 years old when we adopted him. Ever since we adopted J, he has had such strong feelings about his sister. He asks for her often and we’ve always wanted to do anything we can to make sure that relationship remains. We have promised him we would try to find her. Throughout J’s journey, we have tried to get in touch with Harmony. When we adopted J, Harmony had already been reunited with family. J had not so we were able to adopt just him. Harmony’s case was closed.
Blair Miller
Before J was adopted in 2019 Harmony was already with her family and out of foster care. I can't find when she went into foster care, but she was out by the time Blair adopted her brother, and since the case was closed it's safe to assume she had been out of foster care for some time.

BBM- what does her uncle mean by saying that the information that Harmony has been missing since 2019 is wrong?
I'm not sure but it could possibly mean that although LE says they last saw her Oct 2019, her family believes she's been seen or spoken with since then and LE just hasn't been able to verify that? I dunno.

I can't help it. I have zero sympathy for any adult who knew of Harmony's existence.

The more one digs, the more pathetic this entire situation is. It took failures on multiple levels in order for this to occur, and that includes everyone in her life.

Thanks @marisa_iati and @washingtonpost for sharing Harmony’s story.
Every bit of attention should be on the search to find #HarmonyMontgomery right now. We continue to have hope that our son will one day see his sister again.

... about two-dozen tips have come in so far.

Harmony Montgomery Disappeared in 2019: Police (lawandcrime.com)
... state police brought a dog to the back yard.

Another person who claimed to have witnessed the search up close told the outlet the police dog did not find anything. This individual did not believe that police found anything on digging up a corner of the yard.

Police say she may have been going to school in Massachusetts when she was last seen.

I agree.
How can anyone who knew about her, NOT know where she is after 2 yrs. OR question lack of photos, communication, etc.
I just cannot comprehend this.

I may not talk to my daughters or grandkiddos daily all the time, but at least every other day and I see pics when my daughter and kiddos go on vacation so I see all of them in photos, plus texts and calls.
I just cannot comprehend this 2 year absence.

Only 2 dozen tips? What is going on? Manchester is a city of families and people that are inter-related. There should be a lot more than two dozen tips. Are people afraid to come forward? This little girl should be getting more than 24 tips.

That sounds about right to me, considering the circumstances.

The people who have valuable tips will be those who interacted with the father, and perhaps saw Harmony at some point.

We're talking about up to two years here (since she was last seen), so you're not going to have all these people calling in who think they just saw her.

When we hear about cases with hundreds of tips, almost all of them are pure junk (online sleuths calling in things they've spotted on social media, etc).

Hopefully these are high quality ones that can narrow the timeline, and ideally, her location.

Hopefully today's press conference brought in a lot more. And I don't really care how many they get as long as they get the right one. MOO
