Thank you for this update on Jaimie. I do find some reassurance in the fact that her dad has barely left her side.

May they bring comfort to each other. I can't begin to imagine what this poor man is going through.

Your welcome, i agree thank god she has her father, they think she'll be released from the hospital after a month, she is a fighter!

I also googled "New Hampshire" and "Death Penalty", and learned that NH is indeed a DP state. (Answering my own question).

IMO, it wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit if these guys are tried and end up on death row.

You right Spicedtea. People do tend to ignore alarms. I was thinking the mother did not hear the perps enter her home and perhaps the sound of a siren would have awaken her that trouble was lurking.

Now I wonder if the ring leader thinks he is Charles Mason. With the news lately concerning the crimes of Manson and Polanski, could have given the pack the terrible idea to commit murder. Just trying to figure this awful mess out.

Good point. I didn't think of that. Being hearing impaired,I rely on my service dog to alert to an intruder or smoke alarm,etc..

I can see what you mean now,an alarm could have woken her up and called for help or grabbed a gun if she had one.

The Manson theory makes alot of sense come to think of it. Similar crime in some ways as well. Sick, demented monsters.

Yeah,I sure wouldn't be shedding any tears either if they got the death penalty, except for lethal injection being too easy for them. :furious:

I personally don't care where the other two boys were, in a basement, up a tree or whatever. All the boys had weapons, and all knew no one was to be left alive in the house before they entered it. That they all entered it with weapons tells me one thing.

They should all be charged with murder period.

I totally agree with you.

My heart just breaks for this husband, father and his little daughter.

Gone in the blink of an eye is his beautiful wife and the mother of his child.

He will take care of his daughter with tender loving care.

I pray for both of them.

Deborah1012 - many blessings to your daughter. She has been given a some ability beyond what most people have, and it sounds like a difficult ability at that. God bless her, as she must suffer much in these visions/dreams. I wish her peace. There must be many who doubt that these dreams she has are directly related to events that have really happened, but I believe you 100%. It is not an easy thing to deal with, and she is lucky to have a family as supportive as you all are. Hopefully some day the reason she has this ability will be revealed to her, and will make it easier for her to deal with this.

I totally believe it. My grandma (who is 103 and going strong, btw!) has always been able to do this. One incident that I have shared before on this forum really stands out in my mind. She told me (I spent every summer with her when I was a little one) that she had had a dream about a little girl with curly long blonde hair, dressed in a white smocked nightgown. She dreamed the little girl was laying down in the middle of the road, and it really disturbed her. That night, a car accident occurred right in front of my granny's house. A three year old girl, who had been sleeping on the "back dash board" (I don't think cars have these anymore!) was thrown from the car and died lying on the street. I will never believe that psychic powers are evil, or that they are all "made up" because of the MANY incidents involving my granny.

Like you, I am hoping Deborah's daughter can learn to deal with this. It has to be confusing, frightening and so emotionally painful.

OMG they cut off the childs toes. I just saw NG. This poor baby was tortured by these murders. I cannot even think if mom heard her screams. Death to all of them, they don't belong in our society. :furious:

Wait i found it!!
I have bad google skills sometimes..
They need to severely punish the 2 boys that were doing the killing/stabbing/attempted killing

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/re...t_hurt_girl_mourn_mom/srvc=home&position=also

I am so relieved to learn that only some of her toes are missing---and the article makes it clear that we really don't know if doctor's were able to reattach any of the toes. I truly hope they were able to. I remember reading a book written by a young woman who lost all of her toes on both feet to frost bite, and it severely impacted her ability to walk. May this little innocent girl heal, Father. Heal her.

My heart just breaks for this husband, father and his little daughter.

Gone in the blink of an eye is his beautiful wife and the mother of his child.

He will take care of his daughter with tender loving care.

I pray for both of them.

Thank God he is there for this child. His heart must be so torn right now, between the grief for his wife and the thankfulness that his baby has survived. God, give them strength.

http://www.unionleader.com/article....rticleId=f6bf008a-3049-4f81-b5b4-2210ef586e09

"The clerk said Gribble and Spader were at the mall with two girls. After learning the identities of the girls, the New Hampshire Union Leader contacted them, but both refused comment."
+
"According to Christa Dacus of Amherst, whose daughter had been a good friend of Glover's, Glover was seen crying in school, and police were able to hone in on him and his friends after Marks told a fellow student about the murder. That student called police, Dacus said."

Haunting pasts led four to violence

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/na...recall_suspects_troubles/srvc=home&position=2

“I always thought he would have killed himself before he killed someone else,” a high school senior, 18, and former close friend of Spader told the Herald yesterday.

Spader’s mood and behavior grew darker as he began his sophomore year at Hollis-Brookline High School, said the friend, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Spader was in and out of treatment programs, including one in Utah. He shaved his head, abused marijuana and speed, and cut and burned his own skin, she said. He talked often of suicide."
+
"Gribble and Glover may have met through the Mormon community, said a 15-year-old Hollis-Brookline sophomore who was a longtime friend of Spader. He said a Mormon friend told him Glover was at a Mormon study group last Sunday, hours after the murder."

"Steven Spader was going to marry his pregnant, 17-year-old girlfriend in December and planned an after party at Bedford Village Inn for the day after Christmas, according to an event invitation posted on the girl's Facebook page."
+
"The girl's father said last week that Spader faced criminal charges in February and June after trying to take his daughter away from the family.

He said Spader also threatened his life, and, he said, he wasn't surprised Spader had been accused of murdering Cates."

Young victim of New Hampshire massacre home from hospital

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/re...asion_home_from_hospital/srvc=home&position=6

The 11-year-old girl who survived a vicious home invasion that killed her mother is home from the hospital and accepting visits from friends and family at her Mont Vernon, N.H. home, a neighbor said.

Jaimie Cates is in a wheelchair, but well enough to accept visitors, said Yuki Chorney, who lives next door.

In N.H. Murder, Online Chatter Surrounds Teen Suspects

http://www.wbur.org/2009/10/21/nh-murder-2

The day of the murder, Dacus says, teens had correctly identified the four suspects: Christopher Gribble, 19; Billy Marks, 18; Steven Spader and Quinn Glover, both 17.

“By 8 o’ clock at night. So, 14 hours later,” Daucus says. “The murders occurred Sunday and they didn’t even announce the arrest until Tuesday morning.”

I ask Daucus if she thinks the suspects would have been arrested so quickly if they weren’t talking online.

“No. I firmly believe if they hadn’t talked that they would still be free. They never would have been connected to the murders in Mont Vernon,” she says. “I’m not sure they talked. It was whomever they talked to, they talked about it online.”

MILFORD, N.H. – One of the men charged with killing a Mont Vernon woman in her bed told police his only regret was that he didn't also succeed in killing her 11-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in the same room, according to police documents released Tuesday.

Christopher Gribble, 20, told police after his arrest he had wanted to kill someone for a long time and was disappointed he didn't feel any emotion following the Oct. 4 killing of Kimberly Cates, 42, in her home. Cates' daughter, 11-year-old Jaimie, was injured during the attack.

"Gribble stated his only regret was he didn't kill the child because she now had to live with this," the documents said. "Gribble stated that if he realized she was alive he would have killed her."

Warning - Graphic
<snipped>

Accused killers in Mont Vernon murder showed no remorse during questioning

MONT VERNON – Murder was always part of the plan when four young men agreed to break into a local home and "just kill the people ... for fun," according to one of the alleged killers who told police it felt "cool" to kill the mother but they regretted her 11-year-old daughter lived.

Christopher A. Gribble, 20, admitted he and Steven Spader, 18, stood on either side of the bed where Kimberly L. Cates was sleeping with her daughter, Jaimie, during the Oct. 4 pre-dawn home invasion at 4 Trow Road, court documents released Tuesday reveal.

....

Amherst student Eldon Spikes, then 18, said the four young men also talked about the murder in front of him.

Gribble said "it was awesome when he slit the girl's throat" and Spader said he "wanted to 'do it' again," Eldon told a school resource officer. The officer had approached Spikes at school because he had been cutting himself and said he had been threatened.

This is one of the most depraved cases I have read about in awhile.

What evil monsters. The depravity shown and then them boasting about it makes me physically nauseous.

Me too, OBE. Monsters. Choosing their innocent victims totally at random. May they all burn in HE*L.

I am disturbed by the number of young people fasinated by the idea of murdering a person and then callously carrying out their fantasy.

Does New Hampshire have the death penalty?

If anyone is deserving it is these creeps.

I got nauseous too reading about the attacks.

ITA, Openmind - it's very disturbing this fascination w/ killing innocent people....it's not enough for the gangsta wanna-be's to kill each other, as bad as that is, but to target innocent people sleeping in their beds -- just can't wrap my minds around it.

I sense they wouldn't have stopped their slaughter either if they hadn't been caught so fast.

Just evil, IMO.
