I cant think of any reason for putting a rag in the tailpipe unless you're trying to stall a car or something along those lines. I've certainly never heard of putting a rag in the tailpipe to stop a car smoking, well certainly not here in the UK.
Me neither! When I read about that a year or so ago when I was catching up on the case as it made local news again, I thought, "Huh?" Great way to get carbon monoxide poisoning, I would think...

@JulieMurray2_9

I’m getting a lot of messages about the ongoing search out of New Hampshire today. It doesn’t appear to have any connection to my sister #mauramurray, but I’m hopeful it brings resolution for another family.

The search was in connection w Leeann's case

Do you have any more details. I have missed this
It’s definitely discussed within the 150 episodes of the Missing Maura Murray podcast. But this year Maura’s sister did a really good podcast called Media Pressure. It’s eight episodes long with most of the important evidence available and missing discussed in episode seven aptly titled “We looked into that”. The episode title refers to the police. 20 years later, they have released very little information and I think that’s the biggest problem for anybody trying to find her. No sunshine laws in chilly New Hampshire.

Oh wow, I just saw Julie Murray is on this thread! Hi Julie! Great job on your podcast! I learned a lot from it … lessons I’ve really taken to heart. ❤️ I hope so much you get her back and the answers about what happened.

I’d like to edit this to say just listen to the whole podcast Media Pressure. It’s the most coherent presentation of the available information I’ve found. But Ive kept listening to MMM as they embark on a decade plus long fact-finding mission. They make plenty of mistakes along the way and address them.

Where is the best place to discuss the case? I think im fairly well educated on it at this point. Maybe high school level knowledge of the case on a scale that seems to range from people anuwhere from kindergarten to PhD level. I think I have fresh thoughts to contribute as all my learning has been recent.

I think you've found the best place!

Okay thanks I’ll start laying them out soon.

There has been virtually no updates on this case for almost twenty years now. You aren't going to find very many places that have a significant crowd talking about it. Most people who follow this case have already talked about their theories countless times already

The thread is quiet because there has been nothing new in years.

There really hasn't been much new since the weeks that she went missing. Everything since has pretty much just been theories. There is no legitimate evidence that she is in the woods, there is no legitimate evidence anyone local was involved. And even though it's the theory that has the most room to breathe there is no legitimate evidence that she was killed by someone.

After February 9th 2025, Maura will be missing longer than she was alive. Let that sink in...

Yep. Unfortunately this very well may turn into one of those cases where fifty years from now people are hearing about a person that went missing in the distant past. There are several still unsolved cases from people that went missing in the '50's and '60's that you can find on true crime sites.

There are just no leads in this case to take investigators in the direction they would need to go in order to solve it. At this point unless her remains really are out there in the woods somewhere this case very well maybe in the same place it is currently several decades from now.

This can really go either way, at this point. It can be solved out of nowhere in the next 5 to 10 years or it can still be unsolved 40 or 50 years from now when almost nobody who remembers Maura will still be alive. Sure if her remains are out there in the woods someone may stumble on them but that's a long shot. I was really hoping the blood in the A frame house would lead to something and then it didn't.

The A-Frame house never should have been involved in this case to begin with. The fact that it was just shows how much gossip has been driving this case.

Why? Although it turned out to be a big nothing, it's near the accident scene and human blood was found inside. It was worth checking, at the very least.
