I'm thinking that Maura probably flagged somebody down, the person seemed nice, offered to drive her up the street to his "house" where she could make a call to get a tow t ruck because they had no cell phone reception in that area...
and maybe some food and hot cocoa or something while they wait. And then something went awry and she was never heard from again :(
Either that or the bus driver might know more than what has been said.

I hate to accuse anyone but we have nothing to go on here.
:(

You know I've been seriously wondering about the Bus driver too! I know I've read that he'd been cleared and everything but I don't really trust LE on this case, they just don't seem very 'qualified' or 'dedicated' I just don't trust them very much....IMO Also don't like how they respond to individuals searching out in that area either, just seems really weird to me. I can't remember if this was ever posted or not, but do we know if LE searched his house or land? Thanks

especially since the tracking dogs when they were brought in "scented" right up to his property-and I thought that was strange, since he had stated that Maura "stayed with/in her vehicle" when he approached and told her that he would call LE. If he was never in physical contact with her, and she didn't move away from her car when speaking with him, HOW were the dogs able to trace her scent practically to his doorstep? When I brought this up in earlier posts, folks made reference to the time lapse between when she went missing and when the dogs were brought to the scene-but that still did NOT answer the most basic ??-how was it that her scent was followed to his property? :waitasec:

Exactly! I can only think of one reasonable explanation...she walked up there at some point, but when? Or was she forced to go that way by him?
I don't think the dogs would pick up her scent that late if she hadn't walked up there...? Hmmm this is really going to bug me!

there are so many posts about Maura here and at her website. I've read through most of the info, but not everything. I do have my own theory.

The bus driver says he came upon her in her car with hazards on (she's not completely out of it here with hitting her head or alcohol ... neither confirmed, I know). Her car is mere yards from where the guy would park his bus (from the photos on the Maura website). If I were in his shoes, I would have not have stopped my bus on slick roads, in a turn where there's already been an accident. Considering it's only gonna take an extra minute to park the bus first and walk back, that's what I would have done - get the bus safely off the road. Because, he would have actually had to stop the bus, either shut it off or set the brake and exit it to check on her.

So, I think he would have possibly parked the bus, walked back to see about her, convinced her to walk back to the house with him while he called the cops, she'd be warm, safe, close to the scene, but when they got to where the bus was parked, maybe he grabbed her, put her on the bus... This would confirm her scent right to his driveway.

Then, if I didn't misread this, he comes out when the cops arrive and actually drives around helping to look for her. Good time to dump the body or move her to another location. Claiming she did not want him to call the cops would reinforce an idea that she was "on the run" or choosing not to be found.

Was the bus ever searched? Was the dog put on the bus to search for her scent? I'm assuming the bus driver would have driven around in a personal vehicle of some sort. Was that vehicle ever searched?

Does the time frame for the bus driver work? is roughly 7 pm (or whatever the reported time was, sorry, I don't remember every detail) a reasonable time for him to be ending his route and coming home? Could he actually have found her earlier, abducted her and waited some amount of time before calling the cops? Is he married or anyone else live in his house with him? Any priors?

Any investigation would check this man inside and out since he had the most contact with her and probably was the last to see her alive. And, if they check him out and he's cleared, they're free to follow other avenues. Someone needs to push LE to get into his vehicles.

My heart goes out to Maura and her family. The things that are happening in our world are so wrong!! After reading alot yesterday and today, even if she was leaving to get away for the moment, I do believe her intent was to return or to contact her loved ones at some point.

Just read that the BD was coming home from taking students on a skiing trip. Confirmed?

And, was it confirmed that Maura had called AAA?

How did she call AAA if there was no phone signal at the crash site? I think Atwood is lying through his teeth on this.

Anybody ever check up on the construction guy who claims to have seen her 5 miles or so down the road? That's a strange twist that doesn't make sense.

This past Wednesday, Maura was one of many featured missing persons in a "Adopt A Missing Person" event coordinated by Danae at Ashland University in Ashland OH.

There were two media sources which covered the vigil held there. The videos will probably not be available much longer, there doesn't seem to be a way to save them. Therefore, if interested, please watch right away.

ohionewsnow.com - ohionewsnow Resources and Information.

Scroll down and look for Featured Videos and Students remember missing persons. Between the 2 videos, nearly all of the missing loved ones in the "Adopt A Missing Person Program" by Project Jason are shown. Project Jason is headed by our highly respected and much loved Kelly Jolkowski.

If you would, please take time to thank Danae for her efforts for the missing. This is the second vigil that she organized at Ashland University.

You can email her at [email protected] .

Thank you to all websleuthers for your prayers for Maura and her family.

Every day is difficult, but holildays are more difficult for the families of the missing. Remember to pray for them as they struggle through these "Happy Holidays".
