Carla Baron contacted Maura's family - they DID NOT contact her as was mistakenly reported in newspapers.

Opinion on the value of ANY physic in Maura's case varies from family member to family member. However, one thing is agreed: Todate, NONE of their "tips" have generated ANY useful leads to Maura's whereabouts.

CB and others told Mr. Murray that "Maura is no longer with us." Others reported that they have had no contact with her spirit which means that she is still "with us."

Mr. Murray feels compelled to check each tip from a physic because in his words, "What if I don't and the information is valid?"


I do not have a missing person in my family, but I know first hand the impact it has on those left behind. I concur with Robert Cooke's opinion that he DOES NOT want to hear from physics UNLESS they can give him SPECIFIC facts such as "the number of the license plate" (not the state); the make and model of the car (not the color); the name of the town/road the body can be found (not near water, etc)

I hold the very STRONG opinion that physics only compound the heartache and tragedy the families of the missing endure.

Amen to that, Peabody. I've done some reading about this, and can see how they can be quite convincing to the public. Do some research on "cold reading" and "shotgunning" and you'll see what I mean. I tire of their antics. While they claim to be communicating with Jason from beyond, not one of them can supply a single piece of personal information to prove it, nor can they provide any solid lead.

Thanks for replying, I thought that it was an older article but wasn't sure since it was posted again! Somebody somewhere has to know something! I feel so sad for Fred, all he wants is to find his daughter....I can totally understand his reasoning for taking psychics advice. I really wish there was more involvement from LE, or that they would let go of the pride and hand it over to the FBI (IMO)...that's what it seems like to me at least. Maura and her family deserve answers.

I don't think they should contact family members unless they have facts like you said...license # for a vehicle...street or city...something a person can check out. I've heard them say though that they aren't given street signs, etc. Without something solid to check out their info is pretty useless.

My oldest daughter contacted one in the Seattle area when the murderer of my youngest daughter was on the run. My daughter contacted this lady over seven years after the murder. They talked on the phone for an hour. This lady told my daughter that she usually doesn't get into murders because it is to hard on her but she did give some info. She said that she saw the killer in handcuffs. She said that she had never seen a killer in handcuffs that didn't get caught. She told my daughter how the murder took place...she was right on...and she said that he would be caught in Oct or Nov of that year. She also said that he was in Mexico where I always thought he was.

When my daughter told me about this conversation I kind of blew it off and said "well I guess we will know if she is right or not when Oct and Nov get here." This was in March. I didn't pin my hopes on him getting caught on the lady's say so though. I told a few people about it and then kind of forgot it.

Well, low and behold he was captured on November 16th. He was in Mexico.
A lucky guess or not...I don't know. I was just so relieved that he got caught.
I just thought it was interesting that the lady was right...I'm still real skeptical
of them though and wouldn't put much faith in what they predict.

Mr. Murray needs to contact one of the ladys that work closely with LE. They seem to be more reliable. They go with LE and direct them where to look. Some seem to have a gift for finding missing people. I'm only going by the ones that I've seen on "Psy Detectives" though!

Thank you for your thoughts Marisa and Peabody. The killer only got 27 years because he had to be tried by the 1993 laws instead of the year that he was caught in. If they had used the current laws he would have gotten either death or life w/out parole. It seems that these guys are rewarded for running and living their lives while the rest of us try and survive. That is a law that should be changed...I think.

Now if LE could just find Maura. I don't know if I could survive not knowing what happened to my daughter and who did it. I just feel so bad for Maura's family and the families of every missing person.
